I might be mistaken but the 2005 meet at Eloy is the World Cup (any recognized team can compete) and not the World Meet (winners from the 2005 nationals at Perris form the team). Correct me if I'm wrong. Tim T. Team Paraclete

I jump a POP and I prefer to use Spectra for my closing loops. I also ensure my loop is tight enough for our packers to make the occasional snide remark. Tim T. Team Paraclete

I was shocked when I heard about Carlos. He was one of a kind and a class act. We will miss him at RPC School. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Tim T. Team Paraclete

I don't know how to move this (if I even have permission to do so). Tim T. Team Paraclete

Pammi, The jumper was released that evening with bumps, bruises, etc. He came by the DZ on Monday and filled out his own incident report. He will be reevaluated by a military medical authority today. Tim T. Team Paraclete

I have two peices in my living room at home. "ps I love" to and "Angry beez meet the Sisemen" Her stuff Rocks! Now Portia why would you have "Angry beez meet the Sisemen"? I also have a couple of Freak Doody's (one that glows) and the print "These things are fun and fun is good." I looked at Omar's website and he has some cool stuff too (although some is NSFW). Tim T. I am probably one of the few Americans who is rated (and current) in both countries. I passed the US AFF course with 4:03 of FF time and 342 jumps (and some really good coaching) on my first try. I moved to England with 10:00 of FF time and 850 jumps and was allowed to do tandems but not AFF. I applied for a waiver and that was denied (due to the 1,000 jump rule). When I got 1,000 jumps, I reapplied for the waiver and was denied again. I went to the BPA AFF course at beautiful Weston on the Green and earned 13 points in the 5 jumps. The course was just as hard air skills wise and harder psychologically that the US course. Yes, currency is a factor but what I don't understand is the 10 hr / 1,000 jumps rule as 10 hrs is now earned quicker than 1,000 jumps. There is now an agreement in which a US rated instructor may work in the UK for a specified period and that is a significant improvement IMO. Just my thoughts. Tim T. Team Paraclete

Approximately 700 tandems (Vector, Strong, and Sigma). One malfunction on a PdF BT-80. Tension knot in steering line that required more than 50% opposite toggle to fly straight. Cut it away and opened the 360. Be careful as the brakes are set really deep on the 360 and it's kind of a "rock and roll" almost to the point of stall until the brakes are released. Time the release when the canopy is in front of you (time/alt permitting). Tim T. Team Paraclete

Sorry, Mike Tim Are you calling me sorry? I would never call anyone with a 4 digit D license number "Sorry" when I have a zip code. Tim T.

If you're talking about the Marty Jones (who used to be in Florida) I think you are, he's at the Air Force Academy coaching loopers and stompers. Tim T. Team Paraclete

You made the first calls without all the facts. The one was a broken reserve loop after the main was open for some time, hardly the jumpers fault. One was a problem with the a canopy with only 80 jumps, has been returned to the manufacture. The lost pud was a good call by the jumper. imo Sparky Mark, Don't put words in my mouth. I stated that 4 reserve rides in 1600 seemed high and that the malfunctions all seem attributable to the 3 (or 4 - design) basic causes. Here's my thought process: Broken Reserve Loop - Maintenance Problem w/ canopy - Design Floating pud - Packing? Design? Maintenance? Line Over - Packing I said I wouldn't hazard a guess on attributing to design without knowing all the facts - as they pertain to design. The rest is easy to surmise. Tim T.

The next jump will be this weekend, hopefully. IMO all the situations above still violate one or more of the 3 basic causes for malfunction (poor packing, poor maintenance, poor body position) and I might add poor design but without know all the facts (equipment, type of jump, etc.), I won't further comment. Just my thoughts..... Tim T. Team Paraclete

Just an aside... What is the deal with military packers over there? In Oz, army riggers have to be volunteers for parachuting too.... In the USAF you do not have to be jump qualified to be a parachute rigger. It sound stupid to me also. Tim T. Team Paraclete

4 reserve rides? Why so many? That was 4 reserves out of 1600 jumps, all on larger formations. That's not all that bad. Sparky I can't believe I'm about to mess with my good juju but 4 out of 1600 is pretty high when I'm sitting at 1 in 2600 including tandems and even military freefall where my rigs are packed by non-jumpers. Please let my juju stay good. Tim T. Team Paraclete

To chill them out about injuries, etc. I tell them "anything that happens to you, happens to me a tenth of a second later...and I love me!!" Seems to work for me, feel free to use. Tim T. Team Paraclete
