Vary the programs on the tredmill, mix it up with a stairstepper, rower, elliptical, smimming, CC skiing, snowshoeing. A neat strength thing we did last team training weekend was 1 push up, wait 1 min, 2 push ups, wait one minute....up to 12 and back down the ladder. All with 1 min rest, vary the pushups, wide, narrow, diamond, tricep, etc. Then switch to situps and do the same. You get 144 pushups and 144 sit ups in 20 minutes. Always stretch to work on your flexibility.

What can you do with two lighters you can't do with one?
usskydiver replied to skytash's topic in The Bonfire
Mr. Plummer, Cut you or Kill you? There's the debate.... I recently graduated a Princeton grad from Combat Control School. Mr. X was a great student...very focused...and a great swimmer (holds the 1500m record) two brothers were lawyers but he elected to serve in Special Operations...a good man who I hope will do great things for our country.... It was a joy to put together (on the sly...in order to suprise her)...SM1 and I conspired on the project and "it was all good"..and it looks good.. Please pass om the "riser cover training techniques" as I am somewhat a novice in Vector III's.... Tim T. Team Paraclete

I fixed our windblade with it ( both sides and then sewed it down 10-12 spi). I still wonder why my team mates call me analretennant when referring to my rigging work....

Glock Perfection: The Only Thing Good Enough For The Gunny
usskydiver replied to Kennedy's topic in Speakers Corner
QuoteYeah, Kimber's II series had some problems in the beginning but they've worked the bugs out of them now. You're right, it'd piss me off it my Kimber started doing something like that...too much money to have stupid problems like that. ----- But i did just receive a few boxes of 9mm frangible to test out. Our new range is going to be frangible only due to construction and clean up costs so a vendor sent me some to try. He swears it will feed through our Baretta's and my Glock 19. We'll see. check out: http://www.iccammo.com and watch the Live Fire Protcols video. The guy doing the shotgun demo caught some splash but seems pretty effective nonetheless. -

Quote -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kimber TC-II - (ambi-safety had some problems that were fixed promptly under warranty quickly) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Firing pin problem? I've heard of that with some of the early II series Kimbers. Quote Nope, I was flipping it on and off to get used to it and the thing disconnected from itself and fell out of the gun. I was pretty pissed that would happen on a $900.00 gun. Kimber had it back to me in 3 days though -
Glock Perfection: The Only Thing Good Enough For The Gunny

This thread strikes close to my heart and is interesting enough to post to in The Bonfire so here are my thoughts... My work gun (secondary): Beretta (sp?)..issued..USAF/CCT My others (home defense etc.) Glock 19 (17 rd pre-ban mags) Kimber TC-II - (ambi-safety had some problems that were fixed promptly under warranty quickly) To sum up...I was out shot by John Shaw and Donny Chatalain (sp?) in '98...who were using Glocks and shooting upside down...I was shooting right side up...ok, I'll buy the "it's not the gun it's the shooter/sight picture" argument but I got beat and had to buy the big bottle of Jack... Proficiency is everything!! Tim T. -
Mike, Not really my "lane" but here's what I understand to be the truth. The tunnel is being built .80 miles from Raeford DZ. I assume you've been here. It will be 14'. Pricing has not been set. Stay tuned and be prepared to move closer. Tim T. Team Paraclete

Canopy trim is canopy trim. If it's in, it's in...if it's out, it's out. I pretty sure that Fury isn't new..... Have a rigger do a full trim inspection and get a reline if he/she recommends. It will fly and land better if it's in trim. Please keep in mind that more people are getting hurt (and dying) under open (fully flying) canopies than any other reason. Tim T. Team Paraclete

Sorry, Lori, but you couldn't hang out with Bob because your car is RED. Actually, mine was too. I have owned one mustang, an '87 GT. I drove it HARD until it simply smoked too much like a hoopty for me to be seen in and then I bought another Corvette. I had two-chamber flowmasters, a hard-hitting shift kit (it was an AOD car), and a K&N ram-air. It made a lot of racket and looked stylie with the 17 inch wheels I had on it. Quote Not to mention a couple of Falling Maggots riding around. Remember the Chester Meet when I came rolling up in the M-1008? TT

PLease don't do stupid shit!
usskydiver replied to freeflir29's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Clay, my CAS calling former brother (don't go there again)..I'm glad you saved your ass. DON'T MAKE ME REPEAT THAT! To the others....(Yes, I'm sounding like your Dad...get over it)...the Mfr's have developed canopy "lines" for a reason...SO YOU DON'T GET HURT OR DIE!....and they have grown (as you have)...Abide by them...learn from them...To jump 2 models and a size (or 2 sizes and a model) is a recipe for surgery or death! (I've had a femoral nail since 1988). The Lesson... Learn YOUR canopy before you downsize/change models...can you do 10 downwind, into wind, crosswind...90's, 180's, 270's, 360's...whatever.. approaches CONSISTENLY before moving on? If you can't....don't change... It may be slightly more expensive to move slowly but you will be a better canopy pilot, example, instructor, mentor in the long run...and still be alive.. Just my thoughts.... Tim T. Team Paraclete -
S/L at 800' over water (or land) - ramp MFF with equipment: Diving off the ramp 8 way - On Point (ok, the 20 sec. climbout is kind of long) on rear it's really long.... 4 way - IC Tandem - Poised at least 45 to the relative wind AFF - Depends on the level... Tim T. Team Paraclete

OK...IMO the main point has been overlooked...they can be inspected easily (even with the hoods)! I've had friend land with open Rapide (steel) links. Threads cannot be easily inspected (esp. with the silicone covers) but soft links can! Whether you pack for yourself or hire a packer, a glance gives you a warm fuzzy (think of the window on a collapsable PC). OK, the guy with the Pull-Out (me) doesn't have the window (I will deal with it) but at the end of the day, you can looks at your slinks in 30 seconds or less and know that you'll be happy (if roperly installed)! PS: I change mine when I get a new lineset (or sooner based on wear).

Thank you. I apologize for not stowing the toggle and cleaning up the pullout system. The rig is charcoal and the tye-dye is call blue and black on silver. -
