The word I received a couple of weeks ago is that the US Teams will be invited by USPA to represent at the World Cup 05. I don't know what will happen if a team declines. Tim T. Team Paraclete

Yes, #1: Odyssey Javelin, Cypres, Velocity 103, PD 113R #2: The same (my team rig and owned by the sponsor) #3: The same I made the deal to sell #1 last night...sadness... Tim T. Team Paraclete

Should students be allowed to use audibles?
usskydiver replied to lewmonst's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yes, with "flat line" set at 2,000 AGL just in case there's any question in their mind about whether to keep playing with it (while losing altitude awareness) or getting rid of it. IMO Tim T. Team Paraclete -
Qualified by "at an appropriate altitude." I only chime in because a young lady I knew packed a malfunction (locked toggles) played with it until 600' and her instructors words "when in doubt, whip it out" went through her head. So she did. That was my "trial by fire" as a rigger (I was a newby rigger and had just finished packing the reserve). She bought me a bottle and I bought the DZ a case. Tim T. Team Paraclete

Vinny, That's a great post. The ability to perform a flat turn should be second nature. I have been required to perform them on everything from a Tandem down to a 2 digit Velocity. They can save you a trip to the hospital. Tim T. Team Paraclete

Pistachio nuts and Resees's (sp) Peanut Butter Cups. I do however, exercise control over Snickers Ice Cream Bars or I'd be a fat bastard (but not need a weight belt for 8-way). Tim T. Team Paraclete

Come to Raeford, NC. It's a bit of a drive but I guarantee you will have fun. It's the home DZ of SkyMonkey One (ok, it's "subject to change at any moment" as he travels great deal) , LouDiamond, "T-Thack", Team Paraclete (8-Way and Freefly), and many Golden Knights (when they aren't training someplace else). At the end of the day, come on down here, let's skydive!! Tim T. Team Paraclete Tim T. Team Paraclete

I don't mean to seem curt but, download the manual from www.relativeworkshop.com and read it thoroughly. Especially the part on 3-ring maintenance which is often neglected. Tim T. Team Paraclete

Navigators or Sihlouette's in proper sizes (they are the same "wing") will be your best option IMO. Tim T. Team Paraclete

Did they use the same draw for 8 way? If not do you have the 8 way draw? Tim T. Team Paraclete

JP, You have a valid point but if it comes down to the letter of the law there would be a problem in that the rigger is, in essence, certifying the entire system for 120 days. IF the rigger annotated an earlier expiration (due to the CYPRES), he/she would be covered IMO. I'm not an FAA guy but am just using a common sence thought process. Tim T. Team Paraclete
-
After 30 Sep your rig is illegal to jump due to the CYPRES being out of date. Your rigger should not have packed it in Jun knowing it was due IMO. Tim T. Team Paraclete

Tom, HH put out a notice to recheck your profile. He did some updating and errors resulted. Tim T. Team Paraclete

Actually, two (2) members of Team Paraclete are under 21....John (outide rear)and Matt [aka...Amish].... our super cool video master, film maker, w/ John's technical assistance, etc.)are absolutely cool snd definitely rule!!!... but are "not quite legal"..we accomodate their "desires" as required until the Nationals where we will be totally focused on the task at hand...see you soon Lip Peace Tim T. Team Paraclete PS: Let's Skydive...

Pain packed. I enjoy hanging out with you kids so I'm hoping this will be a great weekend. Maybe my bootie suit will get some of the dust knocked off it even. Lisa, Team Paraclete (8-way and Freefly) will be team training (6 jumps) and should be done by noon to fun jump with everyone. And what's with the "kids" comment? Tim T. Team Paraclete

Bring the pain lip. Tim T.

IMHO: shit-can synchrinized swimming (although I admire their breath holds). Add Skydiving-because everyone "here" loves to fall our of airplanes. Please keep Badminton and table tenniis because the stragety, speed, and skill are awesome! I apologize for any spelling errors. Tim T. Team Paraclete

Newbie looking for advice ... please
usskydiver replied to chrisballance's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Chris, I am in the US Air Force and was stationed at RAF Mildenhall. I came to the U.K. as a US Parachute Assn. AFF and Tandem Instructor. I went to Sibson as it was the only drop zone at the time. I was warmly received and the Meacock's (and Ronnie, both Pete's Rhino, and all the "locals") were awesome hosts. I love that drop done (weather permitting :) and would recommend it to anyone. The standards are high but in a sport where there is no forgiveness for a lack of knowledge or stupidity, that is a good thing! I was well received and treated. John, Sue, Stuart and Alex (sorry dude, you're the youngest) run a great skydiving operation and you WILL be safe at all times. Alibi: I love all of them for what they have done for me when I lived there. Tim T. Team Paraclete -
Here's my newest rig. RSK-1, Velocity, PD-113R, Cypres 2. This is #3. Number 2 is my team rig and owned by my sponsor. Number one will be for sale shortly (Odyssey, Velocity 103, PD 113R, Cypres). Tim T. Team Paraclete

As a master rigger and Javelin owner I offer this advice. Are the canopies properly sized for the container? As previously mentioned, take it to a rigger. If the reserve is packed so the shared wall pushes into the main container, that will contribute to this problem. Also not enough material up in the ears of the free bag will contribute. The main closing loop is critical. Check the loop length by holding it up to the top flap (hold both vertically). The loop should not be longer than the stitching for the velcro used for the bridle "hesitator" on the top side of the top flap. If this is confusing PM me and I'll talk you through the process. For appearance purposes or functionality? For functionality. It it more low profile than a hackey but shaped in such a way that you'd have to be wearing some pretty thick gloves not to find it. It is actually more substantial the the hande on my POP. Tim T. Team Paraclete
-
Neil, It's just a different type of handle. Different than a hackey. Very nice set up, very clean. If I jumped a BOC, I would have one. Tim T. Team Paraclete

Damn it, Monket Lip, call me and I will esssplain..sorry if this seems harsh in a mellow forum where most want to learn...but please call..it's easier to esssplain. Havin' a little fun, be patient.... Tim T. Team Paraclete
