http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4706787.stm Armed Police have also surrounded a Mosque in East London................

just because you have a large landing area does not mean you are any better off.................. many people get hurt not being able to fly a canopy at low altitude............
-
edit: re-thought my views of putting this into the other main forums........................
-
Yeah, the tertiary makes it so you are following the rules (in Canada) and let's you jump your shit! Perfect wouldn't you say? I mean, not like you are depending on it, mostly there for show. I trust my BASE gear on both terminal and sub-terminal so why not skydiving? My thoughts......... file'em where you like exactly................ I would so much prefer to take my BASE rig out of a plane than take my BASE canopy stuffed in a dual parachute system................... if you can wear the front mount for show and for rules then do it,...... and if you question doing that, then you should not be taking a single parachute system on your back from plane or object.....................
-
when ever a skydiver questions about jumping without a reserve I always retort "I do jump with a reserve, I just dont jump with a main" - I think this is more realistic and also goes to show "some" skydivers that they to only really put their life in the hands of one parachute in the end..........

Groundrush by Simon Jakeman is (i think) a much better read than BASE66 BUT that maybe because he talks about UK BASE, and I have some attachment to the objects he writes about..................

oh dear Faber............. sounds like you are getting a beasting!
-
hahahahahahahahahaha! That cracks me up! you got beasted to 950ft and you took a slider down option (i assume it was a SU option jump).......... all that hard work and your danish pink hat wearing porn star mind must have been saying on that "looooooooooong" flight "why did I just do that.........." that is the funniest thing I have heard........... Nice to see the US of Aers looking after you, seems that you have been getting a right beasting! hahahahahahaha - I feel for you dooooooood! look forward to more installments............. take care you guys! have lots of smiles!
-
yes it was with CR, and my and others first jumps were 3 secs hand held freefall, one guy on my course consistantly turned 180 head low in freefall before he pitched.......... - he was a good advert for the PCA!
-
For my FJC at that span with a well known manufacturer I did a 3 sec delay hand held for my first jump............ has this changed?
-
..............which is not bad for someone that ends up limping with a lump on his leg plate everytime he jumps! I will GC you for those 1000fters, and hopefully you will be Antenna fit when you return and make 621 sweat like a village teen at a pub concert full of farmers.............
-
Mark, drop me your number............ would love to catch up!

This gave me a giggle.................. HOW TO MAKE MONEY-- A city boy named Kenny, moved to the country and bought a donkey from an old farmer for $100. The farmer agreed to deliver the donkey to him the next day. But the next day, the farmer drove up in his old truck and told Kenny, "Sorry, son, but I have some bad news, the donkey died." Kenny replied, "Well then, just give me my money back." The farmer said, "Can't do that. I went and spent it already." Kenny said, "OK then, just bring me the donkey." The farmer asked, "What ya gonna do with a dead donkey?" Kenny, "I'm going to raffle him off." The farmer said, "You can't raffle off a dead donkey!" Kenny said, "Sure I can. Watch me. I just won't tell anybody he's dead." A month later the farmer met up with Kenny and asked, "So, what happened with the dead donkey?" Kenny said, "I raffled him off. I sold 500 tickets at $2 a piece and made a profit of $898.00." The farmer said, "Didn't anyone complain?" Kenny replied, "Just the guy who won, so I gave him his $2 back." Kenny grew up and eventually became the chairman of Enron...

Bet you should have been more worried about telling your BASE brothers and sisters, I am guessing you are about to get a internet kicking about starting with sod all experience in skydiving.................... seriously, 40 odd jumps is not ideal to do what you are doing................ I had 500 (with CRW and accuracy) when I went to that span for a FJC, and even then I knew I had a lot to learn about short canopy rides.......................... Hope your luck holds out............
-
Wow! There is several WS vids from that exit that dont make it that far! VERY nice work........................
-
I spoke to Faber this afternoon (it was 6:30am there and they were just having breakfast) and he sounded fucked......... having got there, he has had 5 hours sleep and made 3 jumps one of which was 500ft and he did not sound happy about being forced to climb that high!! hahahaahhaahahahahah Good to see you US guys really beasting the Danish boy!!! he needs it!!! keep it up!!
-
To be honest with everyone, I am scared about jumping the IT terminal wall! Why? although I can exit and jump low objects, jumping something like the MB wall is a different beast...... I have recently heard about some people going there and thinking it was safe to try out their first gainers.................... apparently it could have turned VERY ugly.................. big walls dont mean big safety............... dont think like a skydiver.................. height means bollocks all in BASE................... 200ft or 2000ft, its still as fucking dangerous! i will get my coat................
-
I did my first terminal jump at Norway, I had around 30 BASE jumps and had jumped solid objects before (300ft range), my first terminal cliff jump terrified me. I had not skydived for over a year and I was worried about tracking, The only thing I would say is that my inexperience led me to not really make decent tracking movement until about 8 seconds, which was ok"ish" on the Norway wall, but lower walls with a need to track would have been a little more intense for me......... Terminal wall jumping is a different beast, just approach it with the same respect as it deserves........ go do some skydives to practice tracking to make sure you are happy about your position, it will make you feel (a little) better on the edge............
-
agreed...................... I would say a better question is---------> "AVGE # of different Objects a year?" or "ratio of jumps v objects" This would certainly be more enlightening....... well I think so, I am an advocate of object numbers meaning more toward experience than jump numbers........ but I know alot of people disagree with this.............

errrm, the maintainance guy who works for the owner of it.................
