LPS and swindon are not run by the same people(swindon has recently been taken over by a new crew that have done extensive work to the DZ), I started at LPS (did all my SL there) and would advise not to go there if you are looking for progression. I dont know much about it nowadays, but I think they dont function much out of Lewknor these days and take their progression / tandem students elsewhere.

would love to hear or find more about this........... I spoke to an "old Skool" UK skydiver whos basic progression was buying a parachute from the US military and cutting some holes in it and lobbing himself out of a bi-wing with a stopwatch, these guys were hardcore..... Any more info on the report on the RAF Biggin Hill jumper I would appreciate it..... just for my own anoraky interest..........

Looks like I am in a minority then. From my point of view, I think that the "chit chat" in here is excessive. It seems to be more an American forum (I know you will say its not just Americans here) and for me, I would prefer to read the technical posts and then browse the chit chat posts as and when I want to. I know people think that its easy to pull out the technical information here but for my own selfish point of view sometimes I just dont bother reading a post because I know it will be full of chit chat and private jokes or a certain crew but then there maybe something worthwhile in there that I miss. But now I have wasted my time writing that, as it seems everyone is rather happy with the way it is.....

I have tried that. The last email Tom A sent me was very nasty whereby he insulted me and my family. and online conversation and digging at people is working better for you? Stop flirting with each other and deal with your issues off line.......... and if you cant do that then just dont bother dealing with each other at all.. simple surely?

I would never jump a kill line PC in BASE. Why would you want to? If you are worried about canopy performance with an inflated PC trailing behind you then you either need to stop jumping your VX69 with 52" PC or your Troll265 with 500" PC..............

seeing as a BASE canopy is not normally cutaway under tension, then why is not a BASE capewell system designed? Just me being curious............
