Apples to perries again??? But if you started. Some cars are having maintenance period of 10000 or 20000 Kms. Ive heard that new BMWs don`t have any, but computer is going to report problems or request maintenance.

Its really easy to say. I`ve tried to roll my Pilot when it was brand new: no success, it was damn slippery.

Why do loaded ribs puff more than non loaded ribs.
phoenixlpr replied to f1shlips's topic in Gear and Rigging
What is wrong? This one has several winglets/turbulators built in :). Check the winglet topic :). -
I was advised to buy cross-contry skiing gloves.

Notice that dropzone.com is an international site, please. I live in Finland so its not so far from me. Yeah, jumps in Russia is really cheap, but there are other issues than jump prices...

Discusion: What if TSO's were eliminated?
phoenixlpr replied to diablopilot's topic in Gear and Rigging
You should be happy with TSO system. There are some countries like Hungary that not accepting TSOd equipment. Every piece of equipment has to have its time approval and thats a hell.... -
I have a Pilot150. I `ve found about 5-7cms slack on my break lines. So I have to pull 5-7cms down to get break lines fasten.
-
I have a still very slippery Pilot with 9 jumps in. Its a bit easier now than when it was new. I`ve even tried to roll with no success.... I`ve ended up with reverse bagging combined with wolmari pack. My packjob does not look perfect. It`s really hard to control the bagging :(.

I have a Pilot. It flies nice lands soft. What WL are you planning to fly on? Over 1.5 I`d go for Vision instead. Pilot has a quite strong front riser pressure, it builds up fast, short recovery arc, so thats not a swoop beast. Get some demos!

Should you wait between cut-away and reserve ?
phoenixlpr replied to lintern's topic in Safety and Training
Yeah, I`d like to see yourflip after you chopped a main with broken lines.....and you don`t have vertical speed... -
Should you wait between cut-away and reserve ?
phoenixlpr replied to lintern's topic in Safety and Training
Reserves are designed to open from any position. I had some ride. Even with not 100% perfect position, I had line twist on my reserve. So IMHO its easier to handle a line twist than having a bounce in a perfect position... -
Yeah, most of the time they do what they are said to do... I think thats a totally different case. This whole idea is conflicting the concept of hard deck.

If he or she flies a student flying profile. How could he/she had a trouble donw from a perfect canopy?
-
Hey, you have forgotten to tell something. Canopy transfer in NFS. NOT FOR STUDENTS. 1. They have their instructors. 2. They have a bit simpler emergency procedures. 3. They open high, so they can not have that situation...
-
AFAK Elliptical canopies are more efficient as a wing, but more lift? Where is that more lift coming from?

Was CYPRES a proven unit 12 years ago?
-
I see you are just a skydiver, not an astronaut :). How old is the oldest Space Shuttle? More than 12 years? :) And thats not the only more that 12 yo computer in use.

If it`s working and if it`s as good as yesterday? You know don`t touch working stuff and don`t even try to fix something if it`s working properly. If self test fails it`s high time to retire.
-
If unlimited lifetime, no factory maintenance, 3 working modes in one device, one free cuter shipped with a new device so what is an advantage for you?

Rigs and cars are not comparable.

Re: [Michele] Cross Keys -- Fatality -- Press Clips
phoenixlpr replied to billvon's topic in Safety and Training
I do agree. There`s a point we have to realize that skydiving is not just sunshine, blue sky and wind. For some people it takes a serious injury to put them on the safe way. It shouldnt done fearless. We should know the risks and we have to face with them. -
It`s a long and painful procedure. I`ve sent 4 + 2 hours on cleaning my new(used) rig in 2 rounds. I`ve got it quite clean but its far from perfect. Follow instructions above.
-
I have a Pilot too. I cant stall it either. I`m not sure if we have to stall to get the maximum flare out. I`ve checked the break lines: it takes 5-7cms down with to toggle to get them fasten.
-
It wont fall off, but who cares anyway? Our students do practice emergency procedures with a training harness and pictures. Anyway as a student you should follow emergency procedures and pull the reserve handle too. It does not matter that your rig has AAD and RSL too, you should pull.

Ive ordered my Pilot in Red,Yellow,White,Red,Red,Red,Red,Red,Red with Yellow slider. I think its quite visible.
