  1. It depens on the enviroment you are using it. E.g.: it wears out sooner in the desert, because of the sand.
  2. With your experience it would be better to stay under WL 1.35. I hope we wont read about you in the Incident forum.
  3. Do you think is that the soultion of the problem?
  4. Ok. If I were you I would rather try Nav220 if your instructor agrees with it. 0.7 is still one the safe side. You`ll see the difference.
  5. Ive meant that if its underloaded it wont level out. We have Nav220,260,280 in our club. I had jumps with them. I prefer Nav220. I had stand-up landing most of the time, but not all of them was soft landing. Ive managed to break my leg with Nav220, but thats a different issue.
  6. Dont give up! What is your weight? It might happen that your gear is a bit underloaded, and thats the reason of the weak flare.
  7. You are a dreamer? What a hack are you expecting from a reserve? They yse low cfm material, because its the best for the pupose. If you would know that F111/low cfm material is behaving like ZP for a while, when its new. But in other sense low cfm is better in some aspects: easier to pack and more resistent against tears. The purpose of a reserve is save your ass even you are unconscious. Riding a reserve is not a fun jump.It shuld be safer than fun.
  8. Our club uses a hanging harmness for emergency procedure training and a door imitation with a soft "hill" for practice exit and arch.
  9. Do you agree that PCs, risers and main is dead. IMHO freebag and D-bag might be usable.
  10. I was told that PCs are out,but I can use the freebad and the D-bag as long as they hold.
  11. Its a really nice idea. But there are place that you can not land any other place than the landing area: forest, lakes, high tention transmission, railroad, highway, town....
  12. " Bright colors on free-bags and pilot chutes can sure help. " Yeah sure: if it lands in military area, forest or lake. Ive read about having a radio signaler on the main, but it was quite expensive, several hundred of $$$.
  13. :) I have a plan to reline it because it had 4 lines broken. I can use as a drag chute :). It was not a real question to use it a week after I lost.
  14. Lucky one! Mine has been found after sereval months with my main.
  15. You have missed something. Im on that side that gear should be retired if manufacturer say so. I would rather buy a new reserve after 20 years. I can buy any reserve, but I have one life only. I have 7 years in my reserve. I have one ride on it. Im going to retire and buy a new one if its time for that. It has saved my life once, I hope i dont have to use it again.
  16. IMHO theres a slite difference between a baloon and a reserve. A baloon is a subject of UV radiation and use. A reserve is packed most of the time and barely used.
  17. HAving 3-4 jumps per day is quite exosting for a beginner. In some contries 4 is the max under some level.
  18. I happend to fly reserve with a "built-in" turn. If it would be a main I wouldve cuted away, but I had to land with that.
  19. Ive read about the RAven reserves that the new owner was adviced to take a subterminal jump as a main to test if it has a "built-in" turn.
  20. You dont have to take it to terminal. IHMO a subterminal opening wont efffect so much.
  21. Ive tried to imagine : thats a horror!!!
  22. You mean manufacturer`s standards. In the Hungaian army a paratrooper is/was trained and allowed to pack a BE-8, thats the belly mounted reserve for RS4/A, but not in the sport.....
  23. Forget to pull? Are you serious? I dont think so. If I allowed to go without AAD I DO know that I must pull. Cypress should be that last last resort. I think it was in the manual: Turn it on and forget it. -> So dont trust on it. It may save your life, but no warranty or you may complain in afterlife....
