  1. My Pilot opens about 200m long for terminal velocity. So?
  2. Here it goes if you buy your first to early. Can you complete this checklist: Downsizing Checklist - by Bill von Novak If not you have something left to work on.
  3. I'd rather start searching. Every 2nd newbie has this question here. So scroll down and start searching with keyword BSR, wingload, first, canopy. Good luck!
  4. Ops. I've forget to mention that I used a humidifier. :) http://www.allergybuyersclub.com/humidifier-how-to-guide.html I've left my canopy in my bedroom unpacked. The normal humidity is about 40-50% in the heating season. I pumped up until 98% till the morning and packed it that way. If you use a humidifier you canopy does not get direct water on it. Anyway it's really good to have one, because living, sleeping in a room where humidity is under 40-45% is not healthy.
  5. I have tried that way too. It's really hard to make even a roll on the canopy, because the material is sliding on its layers.
  6. Start searching first: http://dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1321321;#1321321 I`m sorry I don`t have pictures about my method. I used a carpet under it because its really slippery on the floor. You have 2 hands, 2 legs , so used them as much you can. -Do regular propack until you wrap the tail around the canopy and the slider. -Grab the covered slider with your left. -Roll the tail -and just the tail- tight and keep it tight with right hand. Roll it against your hip/leg. -Put it on the floor. -Now you are holding the roll with your left and pull it against the lines , this way the slider part remains covered. -Put your right knee on the slider part. -Put the bridle attachment on the top of the roll (end). -Put your left knee on the bridle attachment. So your left leg is on the middle of the canopy. -Squeeze the air out from the left part on your left leg and lift your left leg and turn/fold the left ear on the middle and put your leg back on it. -Do the previous step with the right "ear" too -Squeeze the remaining air out. S-fold the canopy this way:http://www.packingparachutes.com/techniques_tips/greed.htm Tricks: -grab the end of the roll+bridle+top of the canopy with your left. -put outer right grommet under your right knee and keep it there -pull the d-bag around the canopy with your left -insert the rest into the middle as you see on the link Things to be aware of: -Don't roll tunnels, silder, stabilizators or anything. -Don't let the slider moved away from the slider stops. Folding the "ears" over is called wolmary-pack, I coudn't find any link about it. I won and you probable win. :)
  7. I was wondering what to do if one of the zipper accidentally opens? Can you tell some? I had a couple tracking jump from Caravan/Twin Otter from 4000m. We used a cross-wind jump-run,I was almost the last one, I started tracking 90 degrees left from the line after 10+ second I had a left 90 degrees turn back to the airport on the head-wind side. I was about the right place to deploy and I always got back to the landing area.
  8. Hiall, I'd like to get involved. I got lost among wingsuites. Most of the new wingsuite fliers are flying with BM S3 nevertheless its not recommended by BM. There are plenty of suites on the market: S3, GTi, MTR-3, Phi, Firebird... I have no idea what to choose if I can't find a used suite. Thanks for your ideas.
  9. I couldnt find any info where to get it. I've checked those links on that site. Anyway I was told that these kind of d-bag is not allowed to use in Finland due to some old accident. I like the idea, but I think I can not try it :(.
  10. I have a baggy jumpsuit with zipper-attachable photo wings. I have not ever used them. Is there any safety issue around using those wings? Can it be used for tracking? Can it improve tracking performance? Thanks for your ideas.
  11. Do you think you have any credibility without filling your profile, Mr Pornstart?
  12. There is no chemical reaction. It's a quite old d-bag , almost transparent. You know brass is softer than steel and it's not so good shape inside anymore. I would have replaced by myself, but I have a kill-line PC , so I need a work of a rigger for that.
  13. I have a D-bag with bras rings. They are eating my tube stows :(. So they aren't last forever.
  14. I was told you feel more fear between jump nr. 4 and 10 than before jumping. Some people panics , some others are facing their fear. That is your choice.
  15. QuoteAny jackass here on DZ.com can tell you what they recomend for you to jump. Just take a look at their jump numbers. There's nothing like a bunch of 100 jump wonders telling each other what to do. It's like the blind leading the blind. *** Does it qualify your expert advice too?
  16. "This is the day I have almost survived my first BASE jump."
  17. I think you don't know how is really going. She is packing under supervison ( would pack in Hungary and Finland too). Her packjob is checked in 2(-3) major points by a licensed skydiver or an intructor who is going to give his/her signature for that packjob.
  18. Note for you. Why do you thing that you can pack better than her?
  19. Nope. Altimeter was not really required with SL or small delays 5-8sec (jumping with a round main).
  20. I had one jump like that. It was a water jump. Hop'n'pop from 1000m and land in a lake.
  21. Yeah, and your excellent common sense. Edit: spelling
  22. And what is the reason that you may pack your sport main and you are not allowed to pack your sport reserve? And how many of them died by trying a new main ? You might know how to try a new main, don't you?
