  1. So? You have written this dozen of times already. WL means speed too. That big canopy will descend with you slower and you can have slower touch down speed too. It true that you might have less control , harder toggle pressure, but you can not hurt yourself so easily either.
  2. I have started jumping from AN-2. Cessnas were new for me for a while.
  3. First of all, I'm not an instructor. So how can you learn what stall is in practice? I think they should be more forgiving in general. Beware they can bite too. I broke my ankle with a Navigator220 after I got my license.
  4. Stay on the safe side! Jumping @ WL 1.4 with a 150 is not the same that WL 1.4 on a 120. WL does not scale linear way.
  5. If you gear is not safe in that wind condition? I think YES.
  6. I don't think so. AFAK they are used for agricultural work too.
  7. I think choosing the right canopy for the student is the responsibility of his/her instructor. Grounding them because of winds is also the responsibility of the instructor.
  8. I don't think so. I jump a Pilot150 @ WL 1.4. I had approx 360 degrees twist ones. It has happened less than 2 sec. It is there before you even could start kicking.
  9. So? If they pack in the right way reserve pins don't move. I check it every time I switch my cypress on, I do check my 3 ring/cut-away cables too. I do check my pin before get my gear on and board the plane. Why should I get pin checked my anyone?
  10. I had/tried a Merit170 for 3 jumps. Lines looked dirty and used. I have lost it after cutting away from 4 broken lines. It was kidda hard opening. It has recovered after 2-4 weeks exposed outside. I hope you could learn something from my case.
  11. ??? Don't make it so complicated. AAD is not the Holy Grail and its not a replacement for education or currency. That's your last chance. You don't have to know more than stay its operational envelope and act as you don't have any. If you can not locate your handle/PC you should use your reserve as you learnt. I have a funny landing if my 32" PC does not collapse. I don't want to have a reserve trailing behind me on landing.
  12. How about just giving him a normal, silver handle reserve ripcord? You can put your palm in after use. I think thats one of the reasons that dont want to have a soft handle for ripcord.
  13. How much can be the speed difference if they collide?
  14. How about tandem rigs? Having 5-6 handles?
  15. Lack of interest? I have seen velcro strap on Wings Student and Campus.
  16. I have seen a 2 years old almost hit by a car on an airfield. Parents were not tracking him/her carefully. I have seen kids sneaking into the airport through a hangar to play inside. I don't have anything against babies and kids on the airfields until they are supervised by someone.
  17. Ops. It seems Cypress is not the Holy Grail. Please, conform .
  18. How are the wingsuits coming in picture???
  19. This is from the Cypres` users manual: "Even with extreme maneuvers during exit and in freefall, CYPRES will cope with it. Whatever you can think of under canopy like stalls, spiral turns, down planes, hookturns with the smallest canopies as well as any CRW, CYPRES will analyze these movements without problems. It won't interfere with any normal activities while skydiving." Is it the same manual???
  20. I big PC is recommended for wing-suite. I have a 32", but I dont know if its a ZP or not.
  21. Is there any problem using a bigone? Like 32" or 33" killline?
  22. I don't think so. I had some hop'n'pop and plane was going below warning alitute, I got the warning beep, but only one jump was logged.
  23. I had a cut-away from an almost working canopy. I can check my logs for that.
