Canopy Malfunction: Lineover (*landed*, with photos)
phoenixlpr replied to SudsyFist's topic in Safety and Training
How do you classify if a student is not following EP that has learnt? Could have been collapsed easily in turbulent air? -
What is low pull in a BASE jump?
-
If you have a certain license you are allowed to use non-hard helmet like a frap-hat(leather). It keeps your hear warm. I think you don't need nay for a while.
-
Why on the knees? I`m happy to leave Caravan even from sitting in the door, just like from C207 :).

I have a pro-track. I usually log my jumps after I packed. I just lost counting my jumps if I jump more than 4 times a day.

Good resource for learning how to flat pack?
phoenixlpr replied to Jeff.Donohue's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
There was a video: "Pack like a pro". Its pro and flat pack there. -
I fly a Pilot150 about WL 1.4. I was wondering what could be my next canopy. I had some nice lessons yesterday from my canopy. I had to realize I'm not really ready from going down yet. I can have enough fun on this WL with e.g. no wind situation. I do mean fun and not problems.

SL-ers: How were your first exits?

??? I got off student status in 2002. I couldn't get what you wanted to tell me. -
SL-ers: How were your first exits?
phoenixlpr replied to Thijs's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I can tell you stable exit was not my best quality. I feel lucky that my instructor let me pass those levels. As a student my exit was quite bad, but I was stable in free-fall. Anyway you can do a stable exit with closed legs, closed arms and just turn into the airflow and arch. I know that not for SL students, but you may learn it later. -

I had really bad exits. :). Its a miracle I survived my student time :). -
Have you seen this? Pro-track fault or feature?
phoenixlpr replied to phoenixlpr's topic in Gear and Rigging
10 jump memory sounds reasonable, but why the last 3000m or 4000m jumps is not saved in full details? -
Have you seen this? Pro-track fault or feature?
phoenixlpr replied to phoenixlpr's topic in Gear and Rigging
Hi, I have a Pro-Track. I have started checking free-fall profile recently. I had several jumps where the Pro-track/Jump-track showed "No Detailed Data available about this jump". Those jumps were from 3000-4000m, I had all statistics max, arvg, avrg1, avrg2 ... Have you seen this? -
I know a man who has taken SL course at the age of 70.

Your reserve ride..... Who Packed it??
phoenixlpr replied to jasonRose's topic in Safety and Training
3 of 5 could be packing fault. One was packed by a 200 jump wonder, silder never come down. One was packed by me, check by my instructor, on the same rig above, 2nd jump on the rig and the reserve too. Last one was packed by me, assisted by one of my instructor. 4 broken lines were broken on opening. Lineset was old, I'm not sure if the lack of rolling the nose could do that. -
Do you have (and use)an AAD in your CRW rig?
phoenixlpr replied to phoenixlpr's topic in Canopy Relative Work
Hi, Don't be offended! There is going a new rule in Hungary: from 2006 mandatory AAD from everyone -
Your reserve ride..... Who Packed it??
phoenixlpr replied to jasonRose's topic in Safety and Training
Why do you suspect that everyone has only one? I have 5 from different reasons. So? -
have you pulled the rsl to get the reserve out?
phoenixlpr replied to wilcox's topic in Gear and Rigging
I had 5 reserve ride. First 4 had RSL installed I think. I did not have any other thoughts than practiced EP procedures. Now I don't have RSL installed. Anyway RSL have velcro attached to keep it in place. It's not designed to pull from that direction, it's not a handle either. Why should I pull anything else than a reserve ripcord??? That should work 99.99% of the time. I can not imagine any case that would better than pulling reserve ripcord. What if I would have a broken reserve pin? Cypres might save my life, but not the RSL. -
have you pulled the rsl to get the reserve out?
phoenixlpr replied to wilcox's topic in Gear and Rigging
I would not even think about it. That's not the part of my EP. -
