  1. did you ever hear of that guy "Murphy" who wrote a book of laws. For $50 it's not worth it because the "murph" always wins.
  2. I don't think the USPA would dictate insurance procedures such as this, I would not be offended with the video thingy, maybe because I am in the Ins biz??
  3. Hey deltablue, Relaxing is the key, but when I was going thru AFF, relax was " I just jumped out of an airplane" and you want me to relax.... are you fricking nuts. hehe Once you get that level of confidence then it all comes together. Give it a couple of more jumps and you will be " wow it works" then the fun begins. Good luck, be safe & blue skies
  4. I flunked AFF Level 2 jump... Has this happened to others? " does a bear poop in the woods" ??
  5. I would think that you should do a couple of hundred more games before you you attempt the "gulp' reactive resin surface balls. They hook so much that there is a possibility...."don't turn your back". hehe
  6. I personally dont care, but aggiedave had a valid point, the straddle seat is the best while doing tandems. I don't give a hoot from the floor to side seats to straddle seats, either way I am still getting out between 15 or 20 minutes. Just remeber "we fly coach not 1st class".
  7. you have to get out without the Med's because it's a better rush when the the brain is 100%. Try it and I am sure you will agree. I don't think that a chemical exists that could give me a rush as the first step out of the plane. If there is ... DON'T chime in... My adrealine drug is still legal, and is better than anything out there.
  8. hanging out @ the DZ...not a chance get a group of a least 10 tandems on the books, then you might get a free jump.
  9. personal thing, I don't like to borrow things. If I break it, I gotta buy it anyway.
  10. Enough said, I will buy a new one this week and if it works,,great if not so be it. I should have done my homework before I sold it. But it's only $, I ain't taking it with me therefore I am going to spend it now.
  11. I have heard this before. I bought an audible and could not hear it at all because of my hearing loss: My hearing shuts off @ 6K HZ's. I sold it to a guy at the DZ who needed one. I then discovered that wearing ear plugs makes it easier to hear the audible I have yet to try it only because I don't have it anymore, but still it's an interesting concept??
  12. My question was a genuine one only to realize that the answers that I rec'd were also very real, the bounce theory( don't like to say the word) made sense. Thanks for your input. It put that verse (sims) into perspective and God willing will never have to see or experience it.
  13. I recently took a coach course therefore I had to read the sim pretty much in depth. I stumbled across a statement that was a little confusing. It's in section 5-1, Item I. LOW TURNS #4c. I quote" In case of premature contact with the ground, no matter how hard, keep flying the canopy to reduce further injury." Am I missing something here or is it a typo. It's on page 104
  14. getting stable upon exit is a great confidence thing. Once you master that then getting out all unstable becomes a ton of fun. Enjoy the sport and listen hard Congrats of your jumps
  15. I would think it to be a little un comfortable for the "boys" to flap @ 120mph I think the boys bag would look like a speed bag at the end of the skydive, and me think I would walk a little bow legged????
  16. Hey Jen, It was great watching you do that hop & pop. You were just picture perfect on that exit. Congrats and I will remeber your exit because I could see the look on your face. It was the look of confidence that should be be put in the the book of the 1st jump course. Two thumbs up for Jen.
  17. QuoteI fold the excess in half, then stow in binding tape keepers. I do not involve the toggle as that seems like a half-hitch waiting to happen. HMMM.. food for thought!!
  18. If you can't do it well in a two way, you won't be able to do it in anything larger. ditto.. I learned the hard way
  19. Does anyone know what the Big way and or stack record is in this country??
  20. No sales tax ut oh, you just dropped a dime on ralph
  21. The New York Daily News had a picture and an article. I didnt read that his desease was life threatning. What his folks did for him was touching.
  22. jump# 13..flared with my hands to the side hence broke the left hand. Jump#97 Went to Arizona for a week of jumping. The 1st jump was not aware that 1800' ASL and no wind turned my sabre 190 into a 84 velocity (well not really that drastic) . Way too fast for me. The dirt in the desert is some pretty hard stuff. Broke a rib and ankle. This sport is LEARN & LIVE. Both of my injuries could have been prevented easily had I opened my ears and listened. I do now because the Arizona landing could have crippled or killed me.
