  1. the mullins 23K , fat Annie hop & pop @4k. Hop & pop @ 15k. But the best was the Pitts inverted biplane jump hands down.
  2. AFF level 1 I landed in a guys back yard while he was BBQing, his twin daughters were standing next to him yanking on his pants pointing at the sky. After I landed (perfect tippy toe) I was about 20' from the grill and when the guy turned to look he fell back into the grill. LMAO
  3. creating bad habbits by jumping alone.. *** I did 20 jumps solo and it was a total waste of $ and total waste of 20 minutes of freefall time that I could have been learning had I done some two ways. Solos are great for hop & pops to play around with your canopy skills but a waste for freefall
  4. find places that will take you up to 22,500 with O2 Mike Mullins @ WFFC, it's sort of freaky watching your alto go to "0"
  5. welcome to a sport second to none. Congarts on your "off the dope rope". Fear and anxiety is not a bad thing as it keeps you sharp. I would like to extend my hand to you with "great job". Larry
  6. Thanks Brandt, Did not know this existed.
  7. I am being a bit lazy, clicking back and forth so I thought I would reach out for some help. Deland is about 2/12 hrs from homasassa (gulf coast). Is there a closer DZ??
  8. Is the status of a pilots license available to the public
  9. Hey Chris, Could you pm me or have Brian call Art Sherry with his serial # on his container. Larry
  10. I Understand your worries, but here a a true story on my way to the WFFC (world freefall convention). While going thru PA we were stpped in traffic for about 1 & 1/2 hrs. Once traffic started to move we got the jist of the accident. "A vehicle lost control on the overpass hence going thru the guard rail and plummeting to rt 74 and hitting a car directly on it's roof down below. Was it fatal??? yes. I would assume there was some human error on the above vehicle and none on the below. Moral is: watch your own ass and try to eliminate one of the steps that would lead to an unfortunate mishap..eg... fiddle fucking around with your slider, trying to get your hands in the toggles, etc..... I am sure I could go on & on as anyone who reads these forums. I love this sport and want to and have gotten involved in the ground training (academics) which is rewarding.. LISTEN to your instructors because they have been there & done that. Love to learn & learn to live
  11. ***What insurance for instructors? I've never heard of a country that has insurance for instuctors... It's a rider on your umbrella policy if you have one
  12. ***I don't check with a meter, just go by my gut DITTO!!
  13. I met a couple of guys in Eloy that wanted to rent a some cars to do a demolition derby in the desert. DOH!!!
  14. it;s not how many you have but how many you have left
  15. ***Sunday am left to go home...weather was crap. Yeah I left also, but the blue skies broke out in the afternoon. Hey but the party on Saturday was great
  16. For an example, I lost my $300 helmut from a slammer @ the wffc and put in a claim and they will buy me a new one and send it to me
  17. just remember that your policy covers "named perils" Not all perils. Such as if you lose your main due to a cutaway that is not covered because it is not a named peril like fire, theft, water. My policy will cover my rig even if I lose or misplace it, better yet is that if you have to cut a tree down to get your canopy and in doing so it tears the hell out of it, I will get paid for repair or full replacement cost. How about if my rig is in my trunk and some chemical such as battery acid destroys my rig, I am covered. Getting back to a cutaway, It HAS to be UNintentional such as a freefall collision or an RW jump gone bad. The bottom line is that anything that happens to my rig is covered in full. I know it;s hard to believe but do your homework. For $117 / year it's nice piece of mind.
  18. My rig is insured and each item is scheduled, container, main, reserve, aad, alti, helmut, jumpsuit. The premium is $117 for the year, no deductible. approx $6000. of stuff. it's an ALL peril policy, which means the policy will pay regardless of what happens to it.
  19. I tihink some ppl should put an altoid in the poop shute
