How much do you trust your cypres?
andy2 replied to Harksaw's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
hell yeah I would. Sorry for adding a little immaturity to the forum but that would be a fucking rush (not to mention the 100 million). I'd make sure I was stable come time when I got to the basement though! edit - I don't jump with a cypres though so we better get one installed before I take you up on that deal!! --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm... -
A side note to the Cypres question
andy2 replied to LawnDart21's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
how about getting the saved skydiver a beer and asking him if he's ok first instead of kicking him off the DZ? Later after the nerves have gone down a little you might want to talk to him about drilling down the safety procedures. Old dogs can change. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm... -
Loosening the chest strap is pointless unless you pull the slider down too.
Are you sure about that? On my canopy I have a rather large slider, and it stays above the links, once I loosen my chest strap I can physically feel the canopy start to fly differently. Granted I have my chest strap CRANKED on me, and I really spread it, but its not like my slider is hindering it, its loose and collapsed. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

sounds like birdman is slowly taking over raeford with the help of you and chuckie. Hehe, niiice.

I dont understand how detrimental they could be to your sit? I could understand detrimental if you were LEARNING how to sit, but how could more surface area be a bad thing? Thats quicker response with leg movements, correct? Off topic, I know... I know about the whole less drag bottom more up top, but experienced folks sitfly in suits that have a lot of baggy material around the ankles all the time. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

Anybody going to Skydive Carolina this weekend?
andy2 replied to Tailgate's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
aint that a coincidink, i'll probably be heading down there sometime this weekend to pick up a container. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm... -
ive started asking for main pin checks only, because 9 times out of 10 that someone checks my reserve pin they will give it a good whack which I think is the stupidest habit that one can have, especially during a *safety check*. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

nobody has ever made me do a jump, night or otherwise. You don't have to pursue USPA's licenses if you dont want to. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

youre talking about locking stows riggerrob, not linestows, correct? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

maybe you want to fly Wingsuits later on too in a base environment? Might be good to have your own rig to perfect skills like this in the skydiving environment before you take it to base. just my opinion, im around the same jump numbers youre at, in the same situation youre in. drop me a PM if youre looking for a rig real cheap (800 bones im selling complete system). peac --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

I would like to add that sometimes a smaller slider will actually slow down the openings further! I believe this is called the reefing effect, and has been explained to me by a rigger at my DZ. It's best to either A) experiment with new equipment setups up higher than usual to add a buffer zone, or B) ask the manufacturer's advice. Just what I've been told by people at my DZ that agrees with my common sense... --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

work at mcdonalds? or you could pack? You make 5 dollars each rig you pack. That's only 400 packjobs for your 2 way collegiate dream to come true!!!! --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

she's hot, until you see like one ugly picture, now I can't shake the ugly picture from my head. She kinda looked like a horse. No offense, brit, I'd still do ya --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

I disagree with the "work on one thing" sentiment. This is your first skydive back, it's going to be great just to be up in the air again, I know I'd want to sample as much as possible!!!! Why not cram as much into the skydive as possible? Exit doing some backflips, track for a few seconds, while pulling some barrel rolls, pop into a sit, some front flips etc, and then once you've pulled work the canopy out and concentrate on slipping back into a smooth and safe landing pattern. That'd be fun?

wut a crock of shit these political threads always are.

The first one is called a McConkey, and the second one is called a "tard". You described the method of doing these, I will not attempt to correct/clarify/agree with anything you said as I am not quite sure the proper way to do these jumps. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

cool video, to my untrained eye it looked like the low canopy sniveled a little excessively, but I could of course be wrong... --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
