How much is it in US dollars? How much per jump and how much for registration? Also, will there most likely be a 2005 and 2006 boogie? Thanks. Clint D-24352

Top Mount or Side Mount for filming Tandems
Jethers203 replied to Jethers203's topic in Photography and Video
Yo Jimmy T. long time no hear. Anyway, I am broke as a joke because I just bought a $1000.00 camera and a $500.00 helmet. I am not complaining a bit though and I still don't give a shit for not getting paid for the DEMOs. I have shot a little video before and I liked the challenge of it so I decided to buy my own gear. It is hard to get into the rear float of the cessna, but you can't be a puss about it. My feet slipped off one time and all I had was the edge of the door; it was exciting. I got the shot and everyone was happy. I do have a Pro-Track and as far as the number of camera men at the DZ, we will have 2 shortly. Myself once my helmet comes this week and another guy who is just starting video as well. The other big reason I am starting video is because the head videographer just left, so I jumped at the chance. Another thing is that we will be having a Beech 99 at the DZ for the winter. You have any tips for that plane? I'd assume just exit like a camera man from an Otter or King Air. Well, thanks for all your wisdom once again. By the way, what happened to the Yankees? how many young sky divers are there on this board?

I'm 19 with 550 jumps. Old people are slow. -
Well, I don't know details, but I don't need to. I have jumped his plane a few times and he is one hell of a pilot. I also know one of his sons and a long time family friend that Mike brought up practically as a son. For one, his boys have there shit together and are damn fine people. They were raised that way by Mike. The past is the past and we all know that only celebrities like OJ can get off. Mike was found innocent for a reason. Now, like what was said above, LET'S SKYDIVE!!!!! Clint D-24352

A couple years ago I went through Dutch Airborne school in Holland. I jumped a round 5 times and had 5 pretty good landings compared to the Dutch that were there at the same time. Here is the website. http://www.paracentrumtexel.nl/ Clint D-24352

Quade, I already read that and have it saved on my computer. It is great information. My post is more asking about camera care and the type of jumps you can do that could be harmful to the camera. Let me know. Clint D-24352

I was just wondering what the nono's are for flying camera. Specifically, what type of jumps are high risk to the camera's ability to work properly. Are cloud jumps bad for the camera? Does the moisture effect it? Also, could the rushing sound of the air at speeds up to 250mph and on be bad for the microphone? I am just trying to gather all the info I can before I start jumping my own camera. I have jumped friends cameras in the past, but it is my toy that I have to worry about now and I want to know everything. Thanks for the information. Clint D-24352

I thought that seemed kind of bad. Anyway, keep the info coming. -
What do you all think of the Bonehead Optik for video? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Let me know what you all think. Clint D-24352

Awesome information. I really appreciate it. Any tips for deployment time as to what to do with your head. Do you look to the right with a sidemount or what? I would hate to get a riser snagged on my camera and break something. Thanks again. Clint D-24352 -
Top Mount or Side Mount for filming Tandems

I have a Bonehead Optik and a PC-105. As of now, the D-Box is mounted on the side of the helmet. However, I am starting to film Tandems and was wondering if it would be better to have the Camera/Box mounted on the top of the helmet. Let me know what you all think. Also, is it common to use a site when it is either side or top mounted? There is no site on the helmet right now and I am broke as a joke. Thanks. Clint D-24352 -
A buddy of mine had shitty legstraps so he had a rigger sew parts of shoulder pads from an old school backpack in the legstraps. The black padding matched the leg straps and you couldn't tell a bit. Clint D-24352

Right on!!! I don't jump naked in the winter, but shorts and a T-Shirt under my jumpsuit does the deed. I let the adrenaline keep me warm. However, I wear gloves and a fullface, but I do that shit anyway. Clint D-24352

Dude, my brother was at burning man jumping. I just jumped his Sabre 135 this past weekend and it was dusty as hell. I have landed in the desert before, but that is something else. Do you have any other pictures? Clint D-24352

Blake, Hey bud it's Clint. $1200 is a little high for a Cypres, even if it is a Cypres 2. I got my Cypres 1 for a damn good price, like $850.00 brand new. You need to look around a little more. Talk to some dealers. Just because it says $1225.00 in Para Gear doesn't mean it is $1225.00 everywhere. By the way, screw the big screen or anything else you would buy instead of a Cypres. I would rather have my life then a damn TV. Clint D-24352

Ever jumped in a foreign country ??
Jethers203 replied to lazyfrog's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I am 19 now and was lucky enough to jump in Holland in 2001. I went through Dutch Airborne School in Texel. I did all 5 static line jumps out of the Antonov and then did 6 free fall jumps for fun out of the Caravan. The rounds were cool and the landings weren't so bad. However, I loved looking out of the Caravan at 14,000 ft and seeing nothing but ocean on either side. Skydive Texel is an awesome DZ with great people. Clint D-24352 -

How many people do you think will be there? -
I got what you said. But you should be careful with any parachute. The Sabre 2 is not a bad canopy and you won't get any surprises when you jump one. You made it seem like you have to be really careful when you jump a S2 because it will do abnormal things. That's not right.
-
You just made the canopy sound like it isn't good unless you push it to its limits. I just don't feel that way.
-
Well, anyone can get hurt on any canopy no matter what the wingloading is. Bad judgement or not. I have a Sabre 2 150 that was loaded at around 1.5 : 1. I never had to push it's limits to get what I wanted. I actually just put in an order for a S2 135. It is an awesome canopy. Good at low wingloadings for students and great at higher wingloadings for HP landings. Human error doesn't mean the canopy is shitty. John D-24352

My Mirage G3 M4 is able to hold what you are looking for. The first chute I had in it was a Raven III 249. I then put a Triathlon 175 in it and I currently have a Sabre 2 150 in it. I just ordered a Sabre 2 135 for it. Check the classifieds here on DZ.com HINT HINT.

What is that suppose to mean? Just confused with your statement.

Tonto, How old are you? Can I have some of your jumps? That is pretty impressive!!!!! John D-24352

Noone at Aggieland did a reserve only drill. There were only four people who jumped it the whole weekend including me. I went into a spin and then chopped the main. It was a great experience. The rig was cool though. You could cutaway the reserve if you needed too and then use the belly reserve. I still need a belly reserve jump.
