I didn't mean the Pro-Dytter. I mean the old dytter that you have to dial in the altitude. It is a pain in the ass. John D-24352

skydiveku@hotmail.com is the email address of Chris Burket who is doing the video. I talked to him tonight and he said it would be sent out after easter. John Chamales D-24352

Thank you!!!!! That is exactly what I told him!!!!! I jump a Sabre 2 150 and I have already offered to let him jump it. I am sure he will like it better then anything he has ever experienced. Well, the Spectre's atleast. John D-24352

I agree completely. This would give him a better idea of what to expect from HP landings. As far as: His openings have been pretty crappy also. Line twists etc. He claimed it to be because of the number of jumps on the PD 170 (like 800 or so). I didn't really believe that. The whole situation just sounds sketchy!!!!! Experience matters!!!!! I have a friend who has a total of 190 jumps. He has pretty shitty gear and wants to buy something new/new to him. He has made a total of 2 jumps on a parachute smaller than a 170 and they were on a Spectre 150. The gear he recently found and bought included a used Stiletto 150 that has had 1100 jumps made on it and was relined a couple hundred jumps ago. He knows that it won't last too much longer, but he is planning on making thirty or so jumps on it before he gets a new parachute. Do you all think it is a wise move for him to make these jumps with no prior experience on such a canopy? I think that moving from a PD 170 (not even semi-eliptical) to a Stiletto 150 (fully elliptical + 1100 jumps on it) is not a wise thing to do. Let me know what you all think!!!!! John D-24352

Matt, Shit happens in a sport like skydiving. Why do you think we have reserves and the experience to deal with the shit when it does happen. It is not your fault!!!!! The guy obviously didn't do a good job supervising you or he wouldn't have had the problem. Nobody is a perfect packer especially after only a dozen pack jobs. Don't get discouraged by the mistake. Start packing as soon as possible and get closer supervision. Tell whoever you are packing for, that it is just for practice and they shouldn't jump it if they have concerns. The guy who had the mal, obviously didn't have any concerns with jumping your pack job. His problem, not yours!!!!! Take whatever I said, however you want. John D-24352

I'm 19 as well and started jumping when I was 15. Don't ask where, I just know some cool people!!! John D-24352

I don't know about the largest nude formation, but I think I know of a nude record. I talked to Greg Gasson last time in Eloy and he signed my logbook NNBCRW then a number. Anyway, NNBCRW = Night Naked Backwards CRW. Now, I am almost sure he is the only crazy ass in the world that has done that shit. Well, him and his other fellow NNBCRW crazy asses. John D-24352

Right on Billvon!!!! You know your shit. Thanks to everyone for their input. You never know when you will have to use some of the things we talked about. John D-24352

LouD, I never wanted all the attention. I just said AR-15 because that is what it looks like. How can I tell from the picture being so far away? I know AR-15's are the civilian version of the M-16 etc. I didn't know what or who you were, I was just complimenting on the picture and pissed on some shoes along the way. I know enough about the weapons that I have invested in, but I am still a 19 year old college boy. Age and experience matters. I would like to think that I am cool and own assault rifles, but I can't do that anymore. Now I have to say that I own a "Black rifle." Fuck that. I thought that since I ASSAULT stuff with my rifle, it was an ASSAULT rifle. My mistake. Anyway, you still have a cool icon. I'll try and send you the picture I sent your pal. It will help me get back my ego. John D-24352

Well hell. . . .I am glad we cleared some shit up. By the way, I was just giving you shit about the whole Dad thing. I don't claim to know it all, but I enjoy talking with fellow gun owners and skydivers. Atleast everything is just jolly good now. Anyway, the same invitation applies for you. If you are ever around El Paso or Huntsville, TX we can shoot up some shit. Ammo is on me. Oh yeah, and fuck those guys who want to take away our toys. I'm nineteen by the way. I know....Young, Dumb, and full of .........!!!!!! You have a good night now.

Teacher, I am living in the present. Nowadays, they are known as assault rifles. I am a college boy, not a gun historian. So I called them something that in todays society people no what I am saying. I didn't know I was going to get a history lesson by some one old enough to be my Dad. So, since we strayed so far from the original thread, it may be time to start a thread devoted to black, brown, orange, and yellow rifles. One last thing, was it a cool picture of me or not?

Dude, I don't know LouDiamond. I know that he has a cool ass icon because I complimented it. I didn't have to do that. I also said that it looked like an AR-15. I never said it was for a fact. How am I suppose to know what it is with that small ass picture that far away. I don't know what he does for a living or if he is allowed to have a full auto. Could you or could you not think it was an AR-15 just looking at the small icon?

Class is back!!! I said it was an assault rifle!!!!! How do you know that it is not an AR-15? It is a grainy looking picture, but I know what an AR-15 looks like. I have three in my safe. Go to this address and you will see a pretty close looking rifle and it is labeled as AR-15. http://www.fjvollmer.com/New%20Folder%20(79)/f1.htm Dude, if you have eyes like superman and can see the selector switch that is on the other side of the rifle, you are my new idol. But, as far as just looking at the picture, you can't tell me that it isn't an AR-15.

A Glock and an AR-15. What a man!!!! When are we going to get a discussion going about assault rifles? Great picture for an icon!!!!! John D-24352

Parachute Landing Warning Signs?
Jethers203 replied to AggieDave's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Dave, We purshased a few of them a long time ago for Skydive El Paso. We got them out of the Skydiving magazine. I havn't seen them recently and they aren't in Paragear. All I have seen on the internet are the Skydiving St. signs. They aren't even close to as classy as the guy getting kicked in the head. -
15 rounds= 5 Iraqi's 7 rounds= 2.333 Iraqi's These are bad Iraqi's just so eveyone knows. I am glad they switched from the 1911 to the Beretta. I like the 1911 and we have 2 of those as well. Beretta can be just effective, if not more. As far as Glocks go, I don't think Glock's are bad, but Beretta's have proven themselves to me as good firearms. Aggiedave, The whole limp wristed shit just needed to be cleared up for me. I didn't say it was impossible, but it probably wouldn't have happened with a heavier gun. I won't use your term "real gun." I like that tupperware comment. I will get my girlfriend a Glock someday for the kitchen.

How much fun can a Sabre 2 190 be loaded at 1:1?
Jethers203 replied to Viking's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Randy, I hope I didn't offend you.You have excellent points. I agree with all that you said. That is why I said, "You can make skydiving as safe or as dangerous as you want." As long as you are responsible on any parachute and no your limits, you shouldn't have any problems. John D-24352 -
Added to what he said, a strobe light is pretty necessary. I think it is even required and must be visible up to a certain distance. You can buy them that will strap to your arm. Also, good ground crew is a must. Have a lighted windsock, cars with headlights, and even a lighted area to show wind direction (those little tap lights are the shit). As far as altimeters go, don't buy anything fancy. A regular altimeter with a little glow stick taped to the glass will be plenty. Last, have a flashlight on a lanyard around your neck and tucked into your jumpsuit. This is good to check to see if you have a good canopy and could assist with lighting the ground. Have Fun!!!!!

Chris, Did Bob finally make you buy a suit or what? Clint D-24352

Genie, I don't have any info on this particular incident, but I do have video of an AFF jump that was interupted by a 737. It is rather exciting, because it went right under them and 2 seconds later, they were on the planes level. Kind of makes you think what would have happened if they had left the plane a tad earlier. This too was over a city, but is much more recent. John D-24352

1st of all, Dropdeded is the shit!!!!! My new hero!!!!! I also have a Beretta 92FS. In fact.....I have 2. They are excellent weapons and I have never had a problem with either one of them. I have fired the cheapest, shittiest, most pathetic excuse for ammunition out of them and have never had a problem. What ammunition were you shooting? Sometimes, you can just get poorly made crap? It happened with my Savage 30.06. Winchester had a bad batch of ammunition. As far as: Dave, can you give an explanation to this a little better. It's usually that when you pull the trigger, the gun goes boom. As far as shooting a real weapon, does anyone know what the standard issue sidearm of the United States military is? I didn't say FBI desk junkies, I said US military. You know, the guys that are kicking ass in the Middle East right now. John D-24352

How much fun can a Sabre 2 190 be loaded at 1:1?
Jethers203 replied to Viking's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I'm in Randy's boat as far as jump numbers go. I had about 350 jumps on a Triathlon 175 before I moved down to a Sabre 2 150. I tried to fly the hell out of that canopy before downsizing and I learned pretty good canopy skills early on a canopy I was familiar with. However comma.....a Sabre 2 loaded 1:1 is okay in my opinion. There are some DZs that use them for student gear. Just be responsible and no your limits. You can make this great sport as safe or as dangerous as you want. John D-24352 -

Jethers203 replied to Viking's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I too received a couple Sabre 2 Demo's that seemed to have long factory break settings. I also got my Sabre 2 150 that had breaks set a bit too long and the other 4 Sabre 2 at my DZ in El Paso were set a little long. There is a reason why you can adjust them. I would rather have them set a little long then short. You can always take a wrap or 2 until you get them set to your liking. Maybe though us West Texans just have short arms. -
Out of date reserves...?
Jethers203 replied to TitaniumLegs's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I heard a rumor that the repack cycle was going to be increased. Does anyone know when, or if it is even true? Do you all feel like a 120 day repack cycle is how it should be? I don't mind a bit to keep my reserve current, especially with DEMOs and protecting the pilots. John D-24352
