  1. These pics are from that Saturday out there. It is Eric under his 120 I think.
  2. I voted for #2, but I like #1 as well. I think #2 would look bitchen in a head down cork screw.
  3. Bwahahahahahaha, Phreezone is the shit!!!!! I finally have my own fucking avater. Thanks to everyone that tried to help. Sorry for being such a poser!!!! John D-24352
  4. Hey guys, I am still trying to change my avater. When I change it, the Craig Girard pic still pops up. When I right click on the pic it gives me the below address in the properties menu. I have deleted the pic from my computer, but it still pops up because of this site. What is going on? http://www.dropzone.com/graphics/forum/users/12651-user_icon.jpg
  5. I didn't know Monkeys skydive!!!! Just kidding SkyMonkey. Dude, If I could use one of my own pictures I would, but they say they are too big. How can I get the picture smaller. I just use Craig because he is my hero, other than you of course.
  6. No, I am a poser. I could not get one of my own pictures for the icon because it said that the picture was too big. So, I used my buddy Craig Girard. He is my role model and a badass. I tried making my picture smaller, but it still won't work. Can anyone help. I didn't think you had to use your own picture seeing how some people have monkeys and shit.
  7. Next time you do a 300 ft swoop, pat yourself on the back. Next time you do a 418 ft swoop, you can put it on the internet for everyone to pat you on the back.
  8. Where is it at? It has been 3 weeks. The wait sucks hard. Thanks for trying though.
  9. In 8 months, 330 jumps? That is awesome. I haven't jumped a lot lately since I have been in college, but the summer is almost here. It must be nice to jump at your DZ with all the badass people. Blue Skies.
  10. I did some changes for you. I forgot to proof read what I wrote. It did sound pretty bad. Anyway, it was the truth, there just aren't that many people that are young and experienced in New Mexico and El Paso. I just feel lucky to be that young and experienced. I couldn't have done it without my dad. John D-24352
  11. I got involved through my dad who jumped a lot in the military and continued on when he got out. When I was 15, I did my first jump and I got hooked. Now at 19 I have 500 jumps 20 demos and I eat this shit up. I am planning on getting my PRO rating this summer. John D-24352
  12. How were the openings on those things? What were they loaded at? Did Catfish just use his Dolphin container? What was the plan after they were finished dicking around? What altitude did they cutaway at? Just wondering.
  13. Hey Russel, Have you been out to Skydive El Paso yet. I don't know if you were going because it is technically in New Mexico. Anyway, let me know. Tell Bob and everyone I said hi if you do. John Chamales D-24352
  14. Andy, I too dislocated my shoulder about three years ago. It happened during lifeguard training. Since then, I have dislocated it several times including shutting the car door, wrestling, violent sneezes, and even skydiving. Although it has't happened in a while, the times it did happen,it never stayed out of socket. It would always get popped back in place, but hurt like hell. One time when it happened skydiving was after a speed dive clocked at over 200mph on my Pro-Track. My shoulder popped out when I transferred from head down to flat. This also took off my full face visor. Another time was when my shoulder hit the plane on exit. I kind of got pushed into the plane on a 4 way exit. To fix the problem, I had to strenghthen the hell out of my rotator cuff. I talked to my chiropractor and he gave me some exercises to do. I have never tried a cmpression wrap, but would probably help as long as it does not conflict with gear. Nowadays, the only time it hurts is on sit-fly jumps. John D-24352
  15. Oh, gotcha. Well then, just to let you know, Pro- Tecs are all really the same. They don't make them specifically for skating or for skydiving. They work well for both though. Pro-Tecs will protect your head. Added to this, they are really durable. They definitely do their job. My dad uses a snowboarding helmet that works great. It also keeps his head really warm in the winter and it doesn't look bad at all.
  16. Freaky, I don't think he stowed his slider a way that it would have affected him chopping it. I think he meant that he just pulled it down below the toggles and slinks and put it behind his head to get it out of the way. Dude, This sounds a lot what happened to AggieDave a couple weeks ago on his Heatwave 170. Talk to him.
  17. 1st of all, the half shell protecs are goofy as hell. There are a couple people at my home dz that use them and they look ridiculous. Added to this, they aren't as safe. You can get a protec for around $40 through Para Gear. They work pretty well for a first time helmet, and I have had a Pro-Track in one a while back.
  18. I was out there, but only for saturday. I didn't see that stuff you were talking about, but I talked to Catfish and Moffet. Moffet had a pretty interesting landing that he biffed at the last second. There is film that I could get of it. Did Fish land the 39? What color was Eric's cobalt? I only filmed him on the Green one. Those guys are nuts!!!!!
  19. Is there anything wrong with a 150/150 combo? I fly a Sabre 2 150 and I have a Micro Raven 150 in my Mirage G3. I feel that there is substantial difference in flight characteristics and that it is not dangerous. 7 cell to 9 cell, Semi Eliptical to not eliptical, F-111 to ZP, etc. Now, an unconcious landing would suck, but it would suck on any reserve.
  20. There is also one at Skydive El Paso in Santa Teresa, Nm. It is almost identical to the one in DROPZONE. It works great also. I have about an hour on it. John D-24352
  21. I've seen backward landings before without problems. However, they were at lower wingloadings, but it was a no wind day. Also, last time I was at Eloy, I was talking to Gregg Gasson and he was telling me about a crew jump he did. First of all, he did it at night. He also hooked up his main backwards, and on top of all this crazy shit, he did it naked. He now sometimes signs logbooks NNBCRW and a number. NIGHT NAKED BACKWARDS CRW. So, a backward canopy can be fun!!!!!
  22. Dude, Us americans don't have as hard of heads as you Brits. Just kidding. Why wouldn't you want that little extra bit of safety, not for protecting you from bouncing, but in the air. Have you ever been in a freefall collision? What would of happened if it was on your head? Added to this, HP landings can get pretty nasty. I only have one head, that I use to think with anyway, and I want to protect it. It is my best feature!!!!!
  23. I got the video today. It was awesome!!!! Great job Chris!!!!! Those sport accurcy landings look pretty interesting. I am glad I got to see them since I was on the second load. John D-24352
  24. I am planning on getting mine this summer. I jump a Sabre 2 150 loaded at 1.5. It is gonna take 10 jumps in theory. How is the written test? A big pain in the ass or what? What is the answer to #3? Just kidding. John D-24352
  25. Because real men don't need to steer. And everything else people said above. John D-24352
