  1. Of all the helmets out there the good ol' student-type Pro-tec is the most absorbent to impact. Seriously. Look at all that foam!! Force = MV/t ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  2. Just be happy you still have your life (and eye). btw, a motorcycle helmet would just break your neck on a hard opening...to much weight on top of a little neck when there is whip-lash going on. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  3. It would be 'survival of the fittest' then. But seriously, the reason I don't like the voucher system is that I do not want where the $$ comes from (the government) stepping in and telling me how to run my [private] school....(other than the basics that all schools have to follow). Oh, they might want to give....but then they want to control. I'll keep giving to the public school system (tax dollars) and enjoy that some kid is reaping the benefit of learning. No problem there. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  4. Yep, that's another point. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

    What a Sunday

Had to work as well today, Son. And after a wonderful time lounging in the Perris pool and getting a beautiful suntan yesterday! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  8. Ok... I'll give you that. However, did you notice the little picture I put in my reply to NickDG? I was referring to skydiver's favorite past time in my post. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  9. Archery. I got an "A" in that subject in college.

  11. I believe they're looking for performance -enhancing- drugs. Ya know, ones that make you stronger and faster. Not ones that calm you down... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  12. Wow! Congratulations Al!!!!!

  16. Skydiving's first entry into the World Games was back in 1997 in Lahti, Finland. I was privileged to go that year. Amazing indeed! The disciplines there competing were: 1) 4-way FS 2) Freestyle 3) Classic Accuracy It was held at a horse racing track and the infield was used as the landing area. Exit was from a Russian Mi8 helicopter. On the very last round of the meet the 4-way FS competitors swooped the infield's pond! :^) The IOC was very impressed with everything they saw there. Even the crowds that came enjoyed what they saw, even if they didn't understand it completely. Jumps were featured on Finland's tv stations too. Unfortunately it was found at that time that there really wasn't enough interest from the general public to warrant taking the next step towards the Big 'O'. In addition to this, there aren't enough countries involved in our sport to even meet the minimum requirements of qualification for the games. We were invited to the next World Games in 2001...and now 2005. It looks like we'll always be the proverbial step-child. Glad we got the World Game's attention, though! They love us there. :^) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  17. Well, it began way -before- the Iraqi invasion. They even celebrated against us in Australia's Olympics 4 years ago. Why The World Cheers When The U.S.A. loses! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  18. “I was turned down in my request, by Peter, to make skydiving an Olympic sport,” Bush joked. In June, he celebrated his 80th birthday with a 13,000-foot parachute jump over his presidential library in Texas." See this event.
  19. Yeah...what the big man said. Happy Birthday Deuce!
  20. Nah, Deuce! Just think of it looking like a mindwarp with a pimple on top. That vision should help you curb the desire. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  21. OK.. I'd miraculously forgotten about that happening to me just last weekend. In freefall no less! This teammate for the day had farted while in the plane (we were thankfully seated by the door)...so when it happened in freefall I recognized the scent! Amazing! And yes, this was a skygod. You know that the more experienced the skydiver the more pungent their farts, right? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  22. I work in a Rehab Hospital and today in a meeting a new slogan was being voted on. Slogan: "Bounce Back Through Rehab". I told them it was inappropriate and they all voted it down. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  23. Guess I'm lucky so far in that the only thing that's flown by me in freefall (other than errant skydivers) has been trash twirling in the wind.
  24. Dear friend, Andrey....he's at it again! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
