Cooler than Eloy! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Yep. You do. Plus be a member of USPA. Like I mentioned, if the team who picks you up doesn't mind being listed at 'guest' then you're invited (just get a membership from USPA). In fact, I spoke to a team from Colorado this weekend about you. (they were out training at Perris from Mile High). They did not have a cameraflyer. If they're interested, they know they can find this thread here and PM you. Good luck, ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

You'd be amazed how many tandem customers refuse our digital set-up and opt for film. All our cameraflyers have both cameras and offer both. I wouldn't want "bigway' to miss out on any jumps if he can help it. And what's a Canon film camera run nowadays? Pretty cheap. Worth getting if you're into the student game. I agree that digital is our preferred way to go, but the customer needs to be offered what they feel comfortable with and want to buy. It's their money. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Laurie, I want some of what ever time altering drug you have. This happened on Saturday night. Did you sleep a whole day away? Dom, Perhaps you're right, Dom. Sorry. Weekend days might seem to flow together. Whatever day it was, this happened over in the north packing area....ya know, where the freefliers usually pack. Don't know. And I, for sure, wasn't going to walk over and find out after that boxing match. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Said packer -is- a rigger and I see him check the pc's cocking every pack job he makes (even though we, as customers are supposed to cock it before delivery to him). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Ditto. Yeah, you have a faster canopy than me, probably pull a bit lower, and have younger legs too (for running). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

No. What I was thinking at the time, as well. I believe I saw our DZ manager go over and chat with the offender. He walked away, afterwards, shaking his head. I guess there are some skydivers who never learn to play nice. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

I agree with you, JP. I always check both my pins and pc's state before donning my rig for the ride up. If I'm on a tight back-to-back I gotta trust my packer, but always have a teammate check my gear after seatbelts are off. As far at the day this incident occurred...it was today (Sunday). Didn't recognize the subject, but he was over in the north packing area when it happened. What are people's opinion of a rental canopy that is torn on opening (and a packer hooked it up and packed it)? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

KESQ -- Perris Skyventure -- Press Clips

Looks like a little more focused advertising is needed. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
So, there I was peacefully packing from our last jump of the day. The afternoon was finally cooling off and the few die-hards who stay at the DZ until the sunset jump on Sunday were gearing up for their last hurrah. Peaceful, until I hear...off to my right...a fist fight begin! At first I think it's just two guys practicing their kickboxing and punches, but it kept going on and neither party seemed inclined to stop. Thankfully a 3rd party stepped in and separated the two. Story...seems that one of our very respected packers was stiffed in his packing fee when a customer rode the plane down. He had a gear check in the plane and his checker notified him that there was no color showing in his bridle's window. He chose to ride the plane down instead of jump. He then notified the packer that he was not going to pay for the pack job. And the fight began. So, in your opinion, should he (the jumper) have paid the packer? Or is he justified in keeping his $$. When is it ever justified to keep a packer's fee? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Oh, there's still team rooms for those of us who want to continue hiding from you... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

There are rumors, but nothing that I've heard that substantiates it. I'll see if I can talk with Ben or Pat today and get back with you. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Well, that sucks! Where I started skydiving the cameraflyer was supplied with helmet, video camera, and stills. The camera helmet was a 'one-size-fits-all scenario. That place no longer operates now (DZO retired from the sport after 25 years). Since your DZ only flies film cameras, it would behoove you to buy one of those for yourself. If you bought a digital still camera (and only that), wouldn't you be stuck with going up with -only- those who wanted digital? That would suck even more. Of course, my advice would be to buy both. You'd have your film camera for continuing student flow and be the first to integrate the digital concept to the crowd. That would be neat. Do a search and look at some of Deuce's posts. He did that for his DZ and -now- most of their students opt for the digital stills/DVD package. In fact, if you PM Deuce, I bet he'd be able to help you alot. :^) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

They're breaking ground for a new big 'common room' too this weekend. It's rumored to be housing a new plasma screen theater tv! The room will be a meeting place for big-ways during the season (with smaller dubbing stations for visiting teams) and the location of the 'fish-bowl' during Nat'l's. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Your profile says you've got 360 cameraflying (videoflying) jumps. What have you been doing on these? Just video? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Really? On my picture here the door measures 1 1/2 inches by 2 inches. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Oopsss. Just clicked on your profile and saw "CSPA". You're talking about Canada's Nationals. Sorry. And if for some reason you did mean USA's Nationals, you'll have to inform your team they'll be flying as a 'guest' team (ineligible for medals) since you're not an U.S. citizen. The cameraflyer is part of the team now. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

It's nice to be connected and have something 'in writing' before hooking up with an unknown team. However, if you just arrive and show up at the DZ I'm sure you'll get picked up within the first hour. For some reason there are always teams who forget that Nat'l's don't have a video pool anymore. Teams have to bring there own cameraflyer. There seems to be a camera shortage again this year, so if you're an experienced team flyer you'll be used. :^) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Remember when a few computer hard drives went missing from another government laboratory for a few days? (few years ago). I'm not sure if they ever got to the bottom of where they went to, but they eventually showed up. Weird. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Ever notice that those who choose to be immoral are not taken seriously. I mean, if they go the route of damaging themselves and others, people tend to shy away and want nothing to do with them (other than those who are also immoral). They can't be trusted. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

You start your drinking early in the morning, don't you sir. Either that or you are an early participant in presbyopia! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

ok if the ORANGE one you highlighted is the DC-3 then what the hell is that huge white one? Uh, that 'highlight' isn't something I did....it's the cemented heliport. And that's the Merlin sitting on it. The huge white one is the DC9.

I don't recognize the color of most of those DZ's.

For one, larger wings give you a greater ability during leading exits. You can use the wings there to keep a greater distance from your team (read: long exits like "M"). Larger wings also give you a faster recovery after you 'blow' a 4-way exit and leave too early. Punch your arms -down- and your wings allow you to provide 'lift' without blowing you back (prop blast and on the hill) any further away from your team (like with hands up by your ears, let's say). During the skydive, larger wings give you a better ability to be DEEPER in the team's burble without crashing into them...and -also- give you the ability to find your own air if (and when) you find yourself having your air stolen by those below you. Larger wings also give you a faster speed change. You can go from FAST to SLOW in a blink of an eye. Say when your team funnels the exit and you give chase.... then surprisingly pulls it back together and instantly slows down! Oh sure, I use medium size wings....but I also wear 12 lbs of lead as well. I've had to compromise. Larger wings would be nicer (more flexibility when you 'goof'), but at my lighter exit weight (180) and tall height (5'10"), they wouldn't work too well for me. I'd be able to use them well on exit, but then would have to keep them deflated during the rest of the skydive.
