New News: Olympic Committee voted Skydiving down (again)
ltdiver replied to ltdiver's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
This just in this morning: Dear FAI Colleagues, As you know, the FAI is recognised by the International Olympic Committee. This means that, in theory at least, our sports have some chance of one day being on the Olympic programme. For some time now, we have been campaigning to have parachuting/skydiving included on the programme of the Olympic Games. The International Olympic Committee has now informed us that its Executive Board has decided to select 5 of the IOC-Recognised Federations for further study, with a view to possible inclusion in future Olympic Games (2012 and beyond). The Federations selected are: Golf Roller Sports Rugby Karate Squash This decision has the merit of clarity. It effectively means that there is no longer a realistic chance of any air sport being on the Olympic programme in the short to medium-term future. We are therefore now free to concentrate our efforts on developing the presence of air sports in "The World Games" (http://www.worldgames-iwga.org/), the next edition of which will take place - with the prominent participation of parachuting/skydiving - in Duisburg (GER). For more information, please see: http://www.worldgames2005.org/en/home/index.php With best regards, Max Bishop Secretary General Fédération Aéronautique Internationale Avenue Mon-Repos 24 CH-1005 LAUSANNE Switzerland FAI - The World Air Sports Federation Tel: +41 21 345 1070 Fax: +41 21 345 1077 Email: maxb@fai.org Website : http://www.fai.org Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
I add frozen veggies (most of the time, just peas). It cooks the veggies while the noodles cook. Just add after the water is boiling, bring -back- to a boil, add noodles, then cook the suggested 3 minutes after that. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

******WARNING....SPOILERS!******* ********************************* So, just got back from Opening Night of Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow. Anyone else take the time to see it today? Gotta say, the mood lighting of the subjects was cool (like Casablanca), however the story line was borrowed all the way through from other movie hits! Why can't they get a new and stimulating idea? They could have done so much more with this flick! Movies it borrowed from, for a quick look. 1) Star Wars (light sabers, the inside of the Death Star, large fighting robots stamping around, and Yoda's Swamp in Dagobah) 2) Jurassic Park (dinosaurs and plants) 3) The Bible (yeah, I know...some people call it a fictional book ) 4) 2001:A Space Odyssey ( [a] machines ruling the humans) 5) The Wizard of Oz (only -this- time the man behind the mask ends up being dead! Geeze!) Anything else I've missed? Guess I'm glad I saw it (for the wonderful graphics and all), but it sure won't be a DVD on my personal shelf. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

I agree with you Phree. And within a time frame of 6 months or less as well. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Good news, Lew! The San Diego Sony shop fixed my TRV10 up as well! (after one of those independent 'sony repair stations' couldn't find the ailment for 6 months!) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

I think both camps have polarized....Neither of which is good for the country. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

OK.....here's an obvious one. By your profile you have 230 jumps in 10 years. I'd be ALOT more current than this. How many of these jumps have you done in the past 6 months? Then once you strap a camera to your head, you -have- to remain very current to be safe (for not only your self, but others as well). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Some of us knew this -before- the first episode aired....so didn't bother to tune in and waste the time.... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
