  1. There's a time and a place for everything, but for something as intestinal streching as beans...a DZ is -not- one of them! emphasis added Ah....however the gas from the chili stays with you through the following day. If you wanna have a cook-off on Saturday night, be prepared for Sunday!!!! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  2. Chili-Party at Archway. nothing says fun like caravan jumps in december in illinois, followed by a chili cook-off. There's a time and a place for everything, but for something as intestinal streching as beans...a DZ is -not- one of them! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  7. Have you seen one in person, Viking?! I went by my local Ford dealer just 2 days ago, looking for the '05 Mustang, and they didn't have it in yet. And they weren't getting one in until their '04's sold out, they informed me. All I've seen are pictures. I wanna DRIVE one!!! I only got my Eclipse GTS until the '05 Mustang got out and proved itself. (will most likely get one in '06, after that happens. But that depends on performance). I miss my baby! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

  13. Honestly, I don't know. I eat a lot of cottage cheese, yougurt, ice cream, eggs, etc. Definately look into upping your calcium and iron intake through supplements (vitamins). I take the calciums with magnesium, which your body needs to absorb the calcium. I take additional calcium for the occasional crash landing. Iron is found in leafy green vegetables such as spinach. I would recommend additional iron supplements as well, especially for a woman. edit to add: http://www.saveonsupplements.com/ This is a good site for supplements. My wife likes it - she usually drinks a fruit/protein shake on the way to work in the morning. Be very particular what vitamins and mineral supplements you choose. The best ones are made from organic plants. These will be used by your body in whole and will deliver the amount of nutrition the label says. On the other hand, cheap chemical supplements will -not- dissolve in your system. They will pass right through your body and end up at the settling ponds of the sewer...still intact. A test you can do is take a dose of supplement...the pill...and see how long it takes to dissolve in a glass of water. If it takes over 30 minutes then your stomach won't absorb it in time before it passes through. The vitamins I take dissolve within 10 minutes. And yes, I am a vegetarian and have been for over 40 years.
  14. Looks like she's part of this group! http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/040902/ids_photos_ts/r2210741087.jpg&e=46&ncid=1617 ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  15. ok....this isn't of me (don't have any of myself in the air on file anyway). Thought this one of SBS was just too cool to pass up, though. It's of him, shooting video of his mom taking a tandem ride! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  16. K. Is -that- what happened. NBC didn't give an explanation except their camera panned the audience and I thought there was someone down...perhaps fainted from the heat or something. No images to identify were shown. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  17. Guess I didn't word my question correctly, so as to be completely understood. I don't care what the criminals want. I believe a sod like that -should- be extradited back to the scene of their crime. No matter their nationality. What I don't like is that Mexico wants us to extradite those who commit a crime -there- and flee to the U.S. Mexico is asking that we send them back for trial.....then on the flip side, Mexico won't send the scum bags back -here- when they need to go on trial for something heinous they've done in the states! They want it both ways. And I think perhaps PhillyKev has it right. It's our death penalty. So, is it really a deterant to crime, this 'pay for a death with a death' for those who run away towards the equator....over the border? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  18. For my first weight belt (to change from the weight vest I'd been lugging around on my shoulders for years) I was able to use just two 5# ankle weights from Big5 Sports Store. Total of 10# was just about right for me. These lasted about 2 years then I received a surprise when the velcro straps gave up the ghost in freefall! The velcro was still good, but the strap had finally given out and split in two where they went through the 'ring'. Thankfully I'd been wearing the weights -inside- my jumpsuit! What would have happened had they been strapped around my waist -outside-?! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  19. Oooooh! A one-of-a-kind collector's edition!
  20. Then there are those I've met who are quick to inform of their decision not to have kids. Their sole reason is that 'they don't want to subject another human being to such a crappy, imperfect, horrible world we live it'. Ok....they have a right not to procreate. No problem there in my book. However, if all decent citizens choose this tactic then the corrupt will over take. We need to continue raising upstanding children into adulthood...by those who know what is right. And keep the world from going down the toilet. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  21. On another slant to the subject. Why do those south of the border seek extradition back to their country for a crime when they won't send the criminals -we- seek back for trial here? See the latest event HERE. Yeah, lock your doors... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  22. Got PBS playing in my office. Got C-Span cued up on my computer. Got NBC playing in the living room. Waiting to see which gives the better coverage. Been sitting here since 6pm and only the internet started at 6. PBS started after that. NBC....well, it's still interviewing someone new every few minutes. No convention live coverage yet. And yeah, I looked. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  23. Why, if you're gonna jump it would you try and return it (change your mind afterwards)? If you're going to shell out the dough for a nice product...and if you want to protect your investment the most....put it inside a box. dbox, camshell, camera condom....whatever. Sound reasonable? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  24. Careful what electronics you buy on ebay. To replace my TRV8 (good workhorse, but it'd just plum wore out) I got a TRV10 off ebay (wanted to save money and keep my same dbox). Camera looked great and seemed to run great....until (first day of my use on the ground) I found it needed a new drum. Cost? About 6 months for them to diagnose it and over $300 to fix it. In the mean time (while I was waiting for the 10) I had to buy a new camera. Got the TRV22. Nice upgrade, but not the $$ I was looking to spend originally. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
  25. I'm referring to those rare individuals who were born and started skydiving -way- before AAD's were even dreamed of. Pat Works, for one...and there are alot more that I've met in person at Perris and Elsinore as well. And for the AAD firing thing....my first reference was to a 'no-pull' scenario. They'd be given their walking papers if that happened. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
