Should students be allowed to use audibles?
ltdiver replied to lewmonst's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I think that a lot of skydivers you now respect would fall into that category - pulled low when considered students. Were they wearing AAD's or Dytters? I think not. They saved their own skin and I respect that. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
Should students be allowed to use audibles?
ltdiver replied to lewmonst's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
No. Don't like device dependency and a student that might try and rely on it, rather than thinking for themselves. However, for those who believe it would be good dialed in at 2,000'.....if it -ever- sounds off in -my- student's ear at that altitude I'd hand them golf clubs and ask that they don't come back. Skydiving's not for them. My same opinion of a Cypres fire on a no-pull. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -

Agreed. However, the ones who make the most noise are the ones who get the press, right? The news likes the negative. And so, the general public will label the democratic party with what they see and hear. Sad really. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

AMAZON broke the US women's speed skydiving record!
ltdiver replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Oh, I've seen him skydive. He's one awesome speed demon, too. Don't think he matched Amazon's newest record, though. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -

So sorry to hear this! I have a patient who loves, owns and rides Indian bikes. (He lost his leg when a motorist side swiped him...thus he is a patient of mine right now). His goal is to be back on his bike and ride like he used to. This news will touch him deeply. Thanks for posting. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

This is not directed only at you, Bill.... But, have you signed your donor card? Seriously...if more people would, then there wouldn't be such a shortage of needed organs to harvest from. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Me thinks the 'Star Wars Kid' was ALOT more amuzing. Perhaps because the video clip kept showing his 'talent' for more than just a brief second or two.... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Best funny memory is watching quade try to hang onto the Cessna 182's strut at Buckeye. His first (and only) Cessna jump. Now, this is the kind of plane quade instructs from and proficiently flies....and there he is afraid that he's gonna fall off the strut! That look will stay with me forever! < history...this same kind of plane is what I learned on and had about 200 jumps from at the time myself...so strut hangs were a piece of cake! Never thought it would be a scary challenge for someone else! > ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

I have traveled through nature on many a hiking and back pack trip. The evening quiet and the morning dew and birds are two of the favorite times I enjoy. Friends and family included make the circle complete. And like peacefuljeffrey said....I'd rather leave the incredible nature alone and unspoiled for the next adventurer to enjoy as well. Not because I myself am also a vegetarian....but because there is more to life than destroying it. *note to those who are carnivores. More power to you, if you enjoy the spoils of your hunt. Not everyone can enjoy a fresh made dinner from their own garden and consider it a meal.

I can take a look at it next time we're at the DZ at the same time, if you'd like. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

So....just curious. If you don't kill to eat it....why do you hunt? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
