my point is... aww fuck it, I don;t know what my point is.. you cant have a broke down cessna landing on an aircraft carrier when there is 14 broke down jets trying to do the same thing. that is unless, the jets have a substantially larger and higher pattern. -

can you imagine a cessna trying to land on an aircraft carrier when there is 15 peeps in the pattern and they are all out of fuel? is it the pattern that is the problem, the wing, or the "small" air craft carrier? -

I don't think that it would be disrespectful in any way to post the pics you took, but maybe that is just me.

I agree 100%. but that still has nothing to do with swooping.. the only problem that I currently see with separate landing area's. it is a small one, is that there will be the 200 jump wonder who shouldn't even be doing 90's, trying to land in the swoop area. but like I said, this is a small problem that is easily dealt with. separate landing area's is the answer. the answer to you peeps who do big ways, is ax that fucker doin'g high performance turns on big ways. there is not a swooper that I know that would put up with that shit.
-
It has now kind of backed off to that due to the voice of swoopers standing up and saying "don't point the finger at us". but it wasn't like that less than a week ago.
-
I dissagree. agree, which is completly idiotic. and neither are pilots who follow consistant landing patterns. but what about the pilots who fly erratic landing patterns. are they a problem too? of course they are. this problem has nothing to do with swoopers. just because someone did a stupid thing and turned into traffic, doesnt mean a swooper killed someone. It means someone made a stupid mistake, killed himself and an innocent. and now that we are not pointing fingers at swoopers. why don't everyone go to there dzo and suggest separate landing areas for people that dont want to follow a traditional landing pattern. that group will figure out what is best for them anyway. easy fix..

The topic is about as real as it gets. If you wanna make jokes, the Improv has open mic nights every month. no jokes, it was simply a statement that points out how stupid it is to say swooping is the problem. danny was not a swooper, he was a belly flier. and it is stupid to say that is what caused it. it is arrogance, and stupid decision making under canopy that caused this. regardless of the canopies size, and regardless of what he was doing. (which was doing a big way).
-
that looks sweet.

Ladies and Gentlemen . . . THIS is a problem. (What an amazingly arrogant and stupid fucking thing to say.) Sorry man, you need a serious attitude adjustment. get real...
-
thats what you call sarcasm my friend. banning swoopers is about as stupid as saying this is because of big way belly dives.
-
the problem isn't swoopers, it is big way belly fliers. those fuckers don't know how to fly canopies.
-
please just remember, I jump because I get to swoop. that is why I jump. something needs to happen, and I dont think I am the one to come up with what needs to happen. but to those who do come up with it. please remember, I jump, because I get to swoop. selfish as that may sound, why do you jump? I hope there are many things put up and out there. then maybe I can vote on what I think is best. so can everyone else.

And students will continue to break that. After all they're students, they're going to make mistakes. Wasnt' the last AZ collision with a low time jumper? Anyway, the notion of '180s' being ok it ludicrous. It's a FAR more intrusive pattern than a 270. Now do I think the 270 is ok...no, but lets be reasonable here people, 180's aren't any better. Education is the key IMO. Not some kneejerk reaction. Smells like a witch hunt to me. I would like to add, there are many ways to do a 270 turn. 270 is just the degree of turn. low and fast, is very very committing, just as most 180's. even if they are done fast or slow.. being low, and being committed to the turn is the problem, not the degree of turn. but still, stay out of traffic.
