I have jumped all three types. over 300 jumps on each. I like all three in a different way.

this is what can happen when you get TINY HMA lines. this is also, in my opinion, why the line stows for this line type need to be small, like about an inch- an inch and a half. but I could be wrong.
-
thats what I figured I would find. more span, less chord.

thats interesting chuck. I have an 84 velo and an 84 jvx, next weekend I will lay them out and measure the difference and post them. and yes, my JVX does "feel" a little bigger. but I wouldn't expect to find a 10 square foot difference. I guess I will find out.

I was thinkin the same thing.
-
yes it is ok, but you need to have the coaching prior to trying. and I would suggest getting your local jumpers to start watching you and coaching. come by the farm this weekend. we will do some hop and pops after I get done with a few aff's.

If it wasnt so politically incorrect, i would say they are real canopy Nazis. :)

every government has its problems. we have ours.
-
BTW, AFAIK should be spelled out so I can understand. what does that mean?
-
thats what im thinking... so simple!
-
explain... please... do canopies have to be certified by some "entity" in germany?

I am not 100% sure, but I work on the cutting edge of auto technology every day, and this is something that I have just recently seen to happen. I have even expressed it to some of the nissan engineers just the other day. It may just be car specific. but I have changed my habits to adapt. when I spoke to the engineers, I was told this is also a newer problem from some other manufacturers also.

Well, If the alt is shot you can get a good battery in the car and start it up. once it's started you can disconnect thew batttery. if the car dies the alt is bad. if it keeps running its good. Could be the belts, could be a horribly corroded connection. It COULD be that a UFO passed over his car and did all kinds of wierd shit to it. If you don't belive me just watch close encounters of the 3rd kind depending on the car, I would suggest peeps get out of the habbit of doing this. on newer cars with "fly by wire" and fully computerized electrinics. you can fry actuators and computers. I see it happening more and more, I have fyed a couple myself.

hahaha, ok...

We're going to pull out the battery and have it tested at the auto shop. That will eliminate that piece to it...maybe. just charge the battery yourself, if it takes a charge and holds it it is probably fine. if it is able to regenerate some, it is probably fine also. your going to have to have it charged to test it anyway.
-
I get alot of cars from auto zone miss diagnosed. they come in ALL the time.
-
That's what we were thinking, but then why would the battery DIE, but then work again spontaneously? If it was running off of battery, the battery should be DEAD, dead as a door nail...it's weird that it worked after sitting twice. a good battery will usually do that. it isn't spontaneous, it takes a few minutes of no draw to regenerate slightly
-
It could be an alternator. a battery or a connection. it is most likely the alternator. but if any one of those components is failing, it is hard to test the other components. so in other words, it could also be all 3.

Another RDS/removable slider question
marks replied to MrBrant's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
yes, then your chest strap is restricting the canopy from opening up. it isn't much of a big deal though, I wouldn't worry about it.
