  1. if you are loosening your chest strap all the way now, I don't see how your going to get much difference if you get a longer one. if you do get a difference it wont be that much. the question you should ask yourself is if there is slack in the chest strap when it is all the way loose. if it is, then a longer chest strap will do nothing.
  2. I remember hearing something like 250 jumps. I got over 500 on mine then I decided to switch them out.
  3. I think the dangerous advice is telling someone to do a 90 deg toggle turn onto final when they have 50 jumps... back off on giving advice to this guy, he is local to me, Ian, and a whole swarm of qualified pilots. we will handle it.
  4. there has been literally thousands of jumps put on these systems and I have never heard of that. I wouldn't go change it if it is not an issue. I don't think there is enough force for that to happen anyway.
  5. you can also get involved in your local "swoop scene" (I.e.) georgia skydiving league (GSL) "which is including swooping this year" and the southeast CPC. not to go and compete, but go hang out, volunteer as a judge, etc. you will learn ALOT by just being around all the pilots.
  6. don't worry about the bag, leave it on top. it isn't worth the extra hassle. the only time I ever take the bag off is when I am competing. and yes, there is an increased risk of malfunction or even just some line burn. find someone who has one and let them show you how to pack it.
  7. with your jump numbers it is very important that you learn to fly your canopy, good for you for wanting too. This all should be done under the supervision of an instructor or a canopy coach that one of your instructors has ok'd for you.
  8. Joe made it for me. I dont take the bag off unless I am in a comp. it is too much a pain in the ass to deal with.
  9. I am using an rds, but I am leaving the bag on top still. just the removable slider. as compared to the zp model, I notice more shutdown power. I also notice a little more power in the rears. I have had problems with my neck, so I only have about 25 jumps on it so far. I was going to compete with it this past weekend at the PD challenge, but the combo of having a hurt neck and being out of a job at the moment kept me from going. what I expect, is that the performance will stay with the canopy over a longer period of time, but will have to let time pass to see if that is true.
  10. mine opens fine. not any different than the ZP model I had before it.
  11. www.millenniumswoop.com congrats jess!
  12. if the weather is good I will be there.
  13. yup, I remember I used to say I would never do that. that it was too dangerous. I am still conservative with it. thats why you don't see me do freestyle.

  15. Nick Batch has one of those on his mercedes station wagon. it is absolutely fucking hilarious!
  16. ok, so kelly, why don't you just sell yourself!
  17. kelly, tell me what you need. what do i do?
  18. I am fairly sure it has not changed. not 100% though. I am sure that there is two different slider sizes for the velo though.
  19. I have to say, I think your evaluation between the cf2 and stiletto is fair, even with the katana, but just in the sense that the control range/ stroke is longer and less aggressive than the other two. but I will also tell you a cf2, with a competent pilot, will usually outswoop a stiletto.. I also agree that the cf2 has a less "twitchy" feel to it. but I disagree that it wont spin you. what I will agree on is the fact that it will take longer, (not by much) for the spin to get going. you should really listen to yourself, seriously.
