If the $billions that are are been spent on GW hysteria was spent on finding a clean, sustainable energy source to replace fossil fuels, I for one would be a lot happier. We need an alternative ernergy source to oil and one that does not require giving up our food to make it. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

There has been numerous studies that show diet has very little influence on chlosterol levels, also the ratio of HDL/LDL. I suppose I will have to dig deeper in order to find out that McDonalds finance all the studies I have read about. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

Your comments are a bit off the mark in this case. At least the last link I looked at concerned passive smoking and not 1st hand smoking, which you used in your comparison. While passive "smoking" cannot be healthy, is is certainly far removed from 1st hand smoking. The data to support the cancer causing properties of passive smoking is somewhat more shakey than the data on smoking. If we really want to use these sorts of analogies, what about the belief that eating high cholesterol foods causes heart attacks? I suppose you think the science is settled on that one too. It has taken ages but eventually Google has picked up the images. This search on google images returns the right pictures of Billvon as the 3rd and 4th hits.

No, but it will take a bite out of you only to find that you taste like shit and leave you alone to bleed to death. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

Yeah, that's not worth complaining about at all, is it? are you asking for a tasering? Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

There was one made in Germany by Monika Horch. http://fallschirmsportstudie.de/contact.htm supported by the German Parachute federation http://www.fallschirmsportverband.de/. Preliminary results can be found here:http://www.metatag.de/webs/dfv/downloads/2_-_Fallschirmsportstudie-Weimann-Jorch.pdf. Sorry all in German. Franco In that research I was the one that gave up jumping after my accident at 2000 jumps. mmmm.... I am still jumping, I did not understand the question. I thought they were asking if I will continue to jump with my injuries, which was not possible. But once they have healed Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

Depends, what is the deal exactly? Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

We have intermediate boards as well. But I am not someone with experience. You will have to ask our skysurf instructor what best to start on. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

it's damn lucky the cop had a taser, otherwise the guy would have been shot. The speeder can thank his lucky stars that he was only tasered. With a bullet in him he would not be able to protest his innocence. I don't know what everyone is complaining about, do you really believe you live in a democracy where justice is served? Forget it, justice is for the rich, getting tasered is for the rest. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

I did video for a sky surfer for number of jumps. After reviewing the video's I removed skysurfing from my list of things to try But if anyone wants to try we have someone at our DZ that can get them started. We have the beginners boards for loan as well. Wanna go for it next year Saskia? Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

or what ever, but does this count? I get two results for the same site? Ok 3d4 is a bit wierd, but thats the domain name. Does Sangiro's googlewack blat still work? Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

A rather simplified view of what's going on, but I guess it will do for most people that will read it here. The misconception I hear most is more to do with the different firing parameters for the student version. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

2) Strength. Normally it takes on the order of 10-20 pounds to pull the cutaway handle - but if you're spinning or have line twists it can be much higher. I switched to one-hand-per-handle because I had to; I was doing tandem, and you have to use one hand per handle at least initially. >Does anyone practice cut aways from a suspended harness any more? At Perris we have semi suspended harnesses. They hang from the ceiling and we have students tighten the legstraps until it takes some (but not all) of their weight. Seems to work well. It's not as uncomfortable but gives you the same sort of tensions in the harness. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

Oh yeah, I can see the wind MUST have been a problem If you have interest in work at our DZ ( video) please PM me. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

and keep adjusting the models until they fit what you observe... correct? and just when you thought you got it right, you have 25% less rain fall over the amozon, 50 w/m² more solar absorption over the east coasts of land masses. But whats the problems the virtual model nearly works, let use it. I don't think so. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

Also, most notice that these turns always turn them into the direction that they DO NOT want to go. These involuntary turns are often noticed when people land their canopy. They are convinced the the wind blew them of course But we know, they really only has one ball Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

Fibula, femur, or fatality (105 elliptical 1.3 PSF 127 jumps)

I don't think that its fair to be ground by wind limits, just because your exit weight/WL. That a strange response. Wing loading would never be a factor for myself. In fact while the students were grounded due to wind at my DZ I still went out and jumped a student rig. Although canopy size is often given as a reason why newer jumpers should not jump after certain wind speeds, the problem is not the canopy but the lack of experience. Tandems seem to jump when the winds have grounded people. I wonder why when they are loading at not much over 1.0 in a number of cases. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl -
There are pros and cons to both methods. Use the method you have learned and stick with it. Providing you cutaway and then pull the reserve at sufficient altitude it does not matter if you use two hands or one. Practise in a hanging harness. Yes I have done it. After a long break due to injury I thought it would be a good idea. Of course all our students go through intensive hanging harness drills. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

only $10 !!! Goverments are spending billions for that quarter. Works as well as the quarter, just that they use lots of zeroes and 1'S instead of just one. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

I think it means that in certain areas of the model it is calculating 50 W/m² more absorption than actually is observed/measured. So I add your few watts to that and what do we have? not a lot of difference. Watt am I missing? Edited to add: The climate models do work, but that does not mean they make sense or produce anything useful. GIGO Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

There are lots of factors the IPCC does not understand or model well in their predictions.... "Principal Model Deficiencies" - "ModelE [2006] compares the atmospheric model climatology with observations. Model shortcomings include ~25% regional deficiency of summer stratus cloud cover off the west coast of the continents with resulting excessive absorption of solar radiation by as much as 50 W/m2, deficiency in absorbed solar radiation and net radiation over other tropical regions by typically 20 W/m2, sea level pressure too high by 4-8 hPa in the winter in the Arctic and 2-4 hPa too low in all seasons in the tropics, ~20% deficiency of rainfall over the Amazon basin, ~25% deficiency in summer cloud cover in the western United States and central Asia with a corresponding ~5°C excessive summer warmth in these regions. In addition to the inaccuracies in the simulated climatology, another shortcoming of the atmospheric model for climate change studies is the absence of a gravity wave representation, as noted above, which may affect the nature of interactions between the troposphere and stratosphere. The stratospheric variability is less than observed, as shown by analysis of the present 20-layer 4°x5° atmospheric model by J. Perlwitz [personal communication]. In a 50-year control run Perlwitz finds that the interannual variability of seasonal mean temperature in the stratosphere maximizes in the region of the subpolar jet streams at realistic values, but the model produces only six sudden stratospheric warmings (SSWs) in 50 years, compared with about one every two years in the real world. ..."(Climate simulations for 1880-2003 with GISS modelE, 6Mb .pdf) And Billvon is complaining about a few watts extra per m² due to CO2 Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

Fibula, femur, or fatality (105 elliptical 1.3 PSF 127 jumps)

Sadly, this is knowledge that is being spread around more often than peanut butter. As Einstein said "Everything is relative". I remember jumping a Navigator 280 or summat like that a few months ago. After opening I did the control checks and discovered to my horror that the toggles did not work I pulled all the way down to the right and nothing happened. I pulled all the way down to the left and nothing happened. I checked the canopy again and it looked alright. So I checked if it would flare. I pulled both toggles down and sure enough I felt a flare. I proceeded with the main, desperately yanking at the toggles just to get the thing to turn. Eventually I landed within 3 feet of where I wanted to land and the flare was maybe not perfect but so nice, soft and slow. -
The problem with Al Gore's 20 ft sea level increase and Hansen's even more apocalyptic predictions is that they do not even approach being sensible. Note that they are boring down into ice that is over 300,000 years old. Why did it never melt before in much warmer periods in history? Read it, it's interesting Dave Fallschirmsport Marl

It is a shame that such sensible proposals have to be tarnished with the AGW scam If people would just leave out the global warming bullshit I would be first in line to support laws that would force car makers to manufacture more fuel efficient vehicles. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl
