  2. Thursday Sept 28th Last welterweight preliminary fight...Serra vs. Pete Sell. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  3. I hurt my back 2 weeks ago at a kickboxing class. I just tried jogging today over lunch....and I'm going to have to forget about this for a little bit longer. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  4. Excellent! What did you have to do to get things working again? (The reason I'm curious is that my Mac at home started doing the same thing after I had my dealer install a new larger hard drive and I haven't had time to check into it. I never use Classic or 9 but my kids use it for some of their games....so they've been on the Playstation for about a month now.) -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  5. What has happened since the last time you were able to run Classic? OS updates, etc, etc? Does your Mac permit you to boot directly into OS 9 or do you have to run in Classic mode under OS X? If it does, can you boot into OS 9? I have had a couple of programs that I had to boot into OS 9 before trying to run as they wouldn't run under Classic. Have you checked the knowledge base at Apple's website? Edited to add: Here's a Knowledge Base article that may be a starting point for you. Good luck! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  6. Here's the last thing to check.....see attached. After hooking up your iPod, select it in the area to the left. Then select the Podcasts tab and make sure that the "Podcasts for Running" check box is selected. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

    Canada

I've lived in both ... it's a bit of a toss-up. They are both cool places in different ways. Winters in Montreal aren't that bad as far as cold goes...but I'm from and have returned to the Canadian Prairies so you can take that with a grain of salt. You just have to dress for the cold. Walking around underdressed is miserable. (I used to walk to work here when it was -40 out...but I was dressed for it and it was a great way to start the day.) I left the West Coast of Canada because I was so damn sick of the rain and gloom all winter long. I found it very depressing. When the sun shines it's glorious...but waiting for weeks to see it got to me. I haven't jumped at Nouvel Air near Montreal because it didn't exist when I lived there but I have jumped at the dzs near Vancouver. Good people, great scenery. I think both locations offer great dz experiences as the owners of Nouvel Air are great guys with tons of jumps (>10k)... and French Canadians love to have fun! I miss the ocean and being able to go sea kayaking which I did a lot of when I was in BC but that's about it. I'm not a skier but you can ski in both locations. BC skiing is awesome but there are lots of nice hills in the Laurentians. This time of year in Quebec is spectacular....Eastern Canada has the best fall colours...and it was my favourite time of year to jump in the East. Rides to altitude were always a treat. 10. If you have subscribed by clicking on the button on the page referenced by Marc, you should see something like the attached (Grab.gif) in iTunes. To get additional podcasts, click on the "Get" button. (I have to say that it is taking a real long time to download.) That should get it on your computer. Check your podcast preferences (iTunes - Preferences) and make sure that iTunes is set to keep all the podcasts and not just the most recent one. I don't have an iPod here to connect but I think that when the iPod is connected you should check the preferences for that iPod to make sure there isn't something in there that would prevent the transfer of the podcasts to the iPod. Hope that helps. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  11. Give me a few minutes....I am at work and will subscribe on my copy of iTunes here. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

  13. Oh man...you guys are tempting me to forgo my David Lee Roth attitude towards running..."I used to run, but I kept spilling the ice cubes out of my drink." Last week I bought my wife the Nike+iPod gizmo for her Nano to help motivate her to start walking again (she's recovering from a stem cell transplant). I tried it out on Saturday to see how to get it working so I could show her...and it was so cool! Pace, distance covered and time elapsed. You can calibrate it for your walking or running pace if you want but it was dead on for me...I used a treadmill and at the end the distance on both was the same. Now, you're showing me a podcast that matches up with each weeks' program in the Couch to 5k....soon, I will have NO excuse. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  14. Nick, Riggerrob ... um ... started jumping in 1979 or so...... But you're right about the pants. I am sad to see "Relative Workshop" pass from the present day vernacular. But, United Parachute Technologies is wa-a-a-ay better than Formation Skydiving Workshop... (God I hate the term Formation Skydiving) -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

  16. Guy, Glad to see that you have set up a Paypal account...much easier!! Am gathering up orders and you will be getting an e-mail soon. Don't deliver them in person...I might move on you again!! (I used to sell these t-Shirts and bought quite a few from Guy in the mid-80's after meeting him and Eva at the hercules Boogie in 1985. in 1986 Guy and Eva decided to deliver a box of shirts to me in person when I lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba...they had been at the Freak Brothers Convention and were heading back to California..so they made a detour of many hundreds of miles to surprise me....and I had quit my job and moved to Toronto just a few days before they arrived. ) I'm so glad they are back in production!!!! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  17. Ouch...that's worse than my part of Canada... 3.79 litres per US Gallon @ .94 Cad/gallon = $3.56 CAD per U.S Gallon. US/CAD exchange rate today of.89 cents US = $1 CAD = 3.56 X .89 = $3.17 US per US gallon. $1 CAD = $1.18 AUD so your CAD price works out to....3.79 x 1.39 = $5.26 AUD/US gallon or 5.26/1.18 = $4.45 CAD x .89 = $3.96 US per US gallon. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  18. Thursday, Sept 21, 2006 - Pretty good fight. McCarthy and Sell. Not too much stand-up. Some decent grappling. No giving the winner away yet. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  19. No...it's easier to do than describe Donut...1st out is on the step facing forward, 2nd out in the V, 1st out takes a donut grip on V's left leg with his left hand, 3rd person out has the back of the door frame with his right hand, reaches across to the #1's left leg an picks up the grip, last person can launch from partway out the door...he reaches forward and grips #3's left leg with his left hand while the person in the V grips his left leg with his left hand... Ready set go! I love the #3 slot. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

  23. have fun!! A tube off the step...here's how I've done it.. (Everybody faces the tail) First person out sits in the V Second person out sits on the step and grips the legs of the person in the V Third person out sits in the person in the V's lap, person in the V grips #3's legs 4th person out somehow steps across while #3 gets grips on his legs and #4 grips the person on the step's (#2) legs... Roll it forward...we found that you want to keep your arms stiff to push the person in front of you away and give the formation some stiffness. have you taken off a 4-way donut? That was always my favourite. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
