Yep, 1st round. Rich got his nose broken. Muay Thai clinch and heavy knees. I'm waiting to get the video from a friend. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  3. I know they are. Freakin' Siamese Twins ... But remember Smitty and the Sharks ... 2 minutes, 10 seconds ... hat trick. Oh sure...I cheer for the Oilers unless a player that I am connected to through work is playing against them...then the Oilers lose me from the cheering section. Right now, that means when they play Chicago, San Jose, Carolina, Buffalo, Calgary and Toronto. Vancouver...the Sedin Sisters...I just can't cheer for them even though they turfed Bertuzzi. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  4. Vancouver 2...Edmonton...........1, end of the second. The Sedin Sisters are beating your big bad Oilers 'Shell. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  5. Hmmmm..Buffalo was very close to going to the Cup Finals last year. I think they'll have a good team again this year....so far they are 5-0...not a bad start! And, they'd have beaten Edmonton handily last year...and you know it -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

    UFC 64

I hear that Rich Franklin got his head handed to him by Anderson Silva. Anybody watch it? (I was out at a hockey game) -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  7. Very cool Pete! Nice standup. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  8. I had this sort of reaction the first time I gave blood...nearly fainting and puking isn't a real good time. To combat this I do the following...I show up early, eat lots of doughnuts and drink lots of juice. I ask the nurses to put me in a cold part of the room and to elevate my feet while I'm donating. Works great! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  9. I used to donate every 60 days but have had to stop because my wife is getting transfusions. I'll start again when she hasn't had a transfusion for 6 months. The reason for all the questions and screenings is the tragic infection of blood recipients with HIV and other diseases. In Canada it led to the Red Cross being removed several years ago and being replaced with a new entity, the Canadian Blood Services. (We don't have private blood banks like you do in the U.S.) It's all about the safety of the blood supply. My wife has had dozens of transfusions in the 14 months since she was diagnosed with leukemia.....she owes her life to blood donors. Try and make the time, it is somethng that definitely makes a difference to others. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  10. About a week ago Daringfireball.net had a link to this website. (likely NSFW) The price: $69 -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  11. Thank-you for that great shot. 40 Tango was the first DC-3 I ever jumped. Always loved that paint job! Speaking of Jim Hooper, where is he and how and what is he doing? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  12. And retired. I missed the fight, forgot all about it while watching the Tigers/A's. I see it was a first round win again. Did I miss anything? Is it worth watching on the reruns to come? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  13. Right now you can buya refurbished 2gb nano for $99 at the Apple Store Add the Nike+iPod sensor thingie for $29 and you will be in business. You have to use a Nano...it won't work with anything else. I bought one of these for my wife I, of course, had to test it out and it works great. If she doesn't use it it would be a shame to let it go to waste My back is nearly good enough...I should be able to start this week. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  14. Hey 'Shell, Thanks for the vote of confidence....but video conversion to the formats supported by iTunes is something I haven't got a lot of experience with. Here's a support document for the basics of uploading and syncing video...so first make sure the basic stuff is in order. The supported formats for iPod use are as folows: (Note that the document I copied this from lists other video formats that will work with iTunes...possibly why the one video imports into iTunes but won't transfer to your iPod): H.264 File formats: .m4v, .mp4, and .mov Video: Up to 768 kbits/sec, 320 x 240, 30 frames per second (fps), Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3. Audio: AAC-LC up to 160 kbits/sec, 48 Khz, and stereo audio. MPEG-4 File formats: .m4v, .mp4, and .mov Video: Up to 2.5 Mbits/sec, 480 x 480, 30 fps, Simple Profile. Audio: AAC-LC up to 160 kbits/sec, 48 Khz, stereo audio. If you are on Windows I don't know what you could use to do conversions...perhaps the program suggested above is exactly what you need. I copied th above from this AFQ on the Apple support site Good luck! I'm out of town at my in-laws so won't have normal net access but will try to help you out as best I can. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

  17. Jaye, I am sorry for having contributed to your misadventure...from now on I'll put up a link to the real iTunes website if I suggest getting a copy of iTunes to do anything. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  18. Also, how did you get the URL for that site? Did it come in an unsolicited e-mail or did you happen across it in some other manner? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  19. If you haven't already, call your CC company and see what they suggest that you do. If it means cancelling your card...do it. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  20. Here's my suggestion.....Get iTunes and use it to download the podcasts which are in MP3 format. In your iTunes Preferences for Burning (Which should be found Under Preferences - Advanced - Burning tab)....Set it to burn Audio CD. Create a Playlist called Running and drag a couple of the Podcasts into it. (Remember, the podcasts will be expanded into AIFF files which are much larger so I figure you will only be able to put an hour's worth on each CD...2 podcasts) Click on the Playlist name and then click on Burn Disk...which will be found in the lower right corner of the iTunes window. I am giving instructions on iTunes 7....just so you know. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  21. JT, I nearly spewed coffee when I read that. I think you should post those exact words as a review of their song on iTunes ... -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

    UFC Winner?

It was on Youtube for a short time...until Zuffa's lawyers called and had them remove it. $40 for video on demand is way too much. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  23. We got our longhaired outdoor cat, His Royal Fluffiness, Froedrich von Vomit Frickleschnitz, shaved this year. They took him down nearly to the skin. Saves him getting full of plant burrs and all matted up and he's much cooler. I loved the tuft on the end of the tail
  24. You will all be thrilled to know that Rockstar Supernova has a single available in the iTunes Store You have to read the reviews...they are uniformly glowing and raving about Lukas I think the link above will start iTunes for you and take you to the page for the single. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
