Well...the Oil pulled out the victory after 14 shoot-out shooters...after letting the Wings tie it up with 3.9 secs in the 3rd! That was a good game! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Glad you enjoyed the game! Your question about teams in Texas got me doing a little search...found some teams in Texas but I also found one of the best sports teams names ever. This is a now defunct Central Hockey League team...the Macon Whoopee!. There are teams in most of the larger centers...college, AHL/CHL and of course NHL in Dallas as 'Shell has pointed out. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

You are the Queen of hockey trivia!!! Tell me....did Gretzky ever have a Gordie Howe hat trick? (I'd bet that he didn't but I could be wrong) -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Don't forget the "Gordie Howe Hat Trick" ... a goal, an assist and a FIGHT! 'Shell Not many guys do that anymore....Iginla is cut out of the Gordie Howe/Rocket Richard mold ... great goal scorer and he'll drop the gloves too. I think Wade Belak for the Leafs got a Gordie Howe hat trick three years ago...those are the only guys I remember doing it recently. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

I like watching hockey games from higher up as I find it easier to see the plays developing. I was fortunate to see Wayne Gretzky play a couple of times from the cheap seats (Winnipeg Arena and the old Montreal Forum) and it was fascinating to watch him and realize what an amazing playmaker he was. It's easier to see when people are open and get an idea of the positional aspects of the game. You don't get that watching on tv as they usually follow the puck and you don't get an overall view of the ice. Down close is good too, don't get me wrong! Who do you think is going to win? I am cheering for GSP, I think he can win...but Hughes always seems to find a way to win. Should be a good one! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

'Shell, The Oil..... No shots on goal in the first period! What up? Detroit starting to get rolling after a slow start...7 straight wins now. As usual, they look like a force to be reckoned with...I thought they were going to have a bad season after their bad start....looks like I was wrong. Atlanta wins again over the Senators! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Questions about MacBook Pro Sony HC3 combo
murrays replied to freeatlast's topic in Photography and Video
Try looking through the discussions forum for iMovie on the Apple Support site. Here's a link to the iMovie forum. I see a couple threads regarding the Sony HC-3 so hopefully you will find a solution in there. Also, if you are still under warranty...call Apple support. You're entitled to free tech support for 90 days....3 years if you bought Applecare. You can buy Applecare and extend your warranty and support up to a year from the date of purchase of your MBP. Good luck! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey -

Howard, How did you steer the Sailwing? To me, that picture looks like it only had three control lines connected to one steering line?? Which doesn't make much sense I'm very confused from looking at that photo. Imagine how small you could biuld one with modern materials! Whether that would be a good idea is, of course, another topic -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

To add to the above comments and observations regarding multiple opponents and weapons...Filipino Martial Arts FMA would be worth investigating. They are weapons based and deal with multiple opponents as well. The empty hand techniques are pretty much the same as the techniques used if you have a knife or stick in your hands....so what you learn is applicable to armed and unarmed situations. Here is an outline of the techniques taught by an FMA school in Calgary. (I was fortunate to attend a seminar by the school's founder, Guru Dan Rutano, this past summer...it was very impressive) Lots of possibilities...you'll be better off whatever you do. iFixit.com has got to have the best site I've seen yet for selling you the parts you need and showing you how to replace nearly anything in an iPod or Mac. I hope some of you might find this useful. (I haven't bought anything from this website but have replaced the battery in my old 2nd gen iPod...which still works great after 4 years.) -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

And...Malkin goes for the history books later tonight when the Pens play the Kings....will he score a goal tonight and tie a record set in 1917? (He would become only the second player to score a goal in each of his first 6 games) Malkin must be something to see...5 goals and 4 assists +7 in 5 games!! Wow! Crosby, Malkin and Jordan Staal...the Pens are loaded with fine young talent. edited to add: Malkin has done it at 8:29 of the first period. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

Cam Ward had a pretty awesome night in goal for the 'Canes...40 saves on 42 shots...he was a busy goaltender! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
