Riggers? How often do you change the reserve closing loop.

There's a puch like that on the Racer I'm trying out. I wondered what that was for. Not that I'm going to try it... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

We gave my mum a joy ride in a chopper for her birthday. The pilot likened flying a chopper to standing on a ball on a hill. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

I don't suppose you could keep it until I get there?(24-28 Jun) -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

i'm not a pilot, and don't know a whole lot about a whole lot, but who flies the plane when he gets up to reach out and close it??? ummmm it's a 182. You can pretty much reach everywhere from the pilot's seat. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

In some recent threads about record attempts and such, it's been mentioned that the participants need to get their FAI sporting licence (or something like that) in order for the record to be valid. When I got my licence pack a few weeks ago, it included my A licence certificate and an FAI sporting licence. Furthermore, my A certificate stated that it wasn't valid without a valid FAI sporting licence. So my question is: doesn't everyone get an FAI licence automatically, or is it an Australian thing? -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

Our jumpship is a C182. We've got a flip up door that only gets opened for jump run. Its easy to open and keep open. We've got a locking handle on the fron door frame that can also be operated by the pilot so he can close the door after we've gone. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

I didn't notice any turns induced by the PC. Everything seemed to be fairly stable. But I am buggered as to how it got there in the first place... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

A quick Google search: http://www.great-wedding-toasts.com/best-man-speeches.htm You have to pay to get them to write a speech/toast for you, but their form should give you a few ideas. http://www.hopstudios.com/nep/column/bestmantoast.html http://www.cds.caltech.edu/~shane/text/bestman_kurt.html Here are some transcripts. Just check out http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=best+man+toast for some ideas. . Note: Not that I have any experience with writing best man toasts, or engagements or anything... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

That is weird. . As to the stalls question. I wasn't doing anything. This was right after opening. I looked up to check everything was there, and the PC was trailing, it was wrapped up -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

That happened to me the other day. I got the PC half hitched around a steering line after the cascade, right up at the base of the canopy (on the left). Control checks all worked out, the bridle didn't go around the nose of the canopy. Landed it and walked into the hanger, where it was still hitched up. No idea as to how it happened or why... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

Ditto Michele. I haven't got a rig yet, but I do know about the 30 day cycle... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

It was. Handentering all the details, for all refs, after finding and redownloading the electronic ones... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

Very nice Michele. I like that response. Thats currently being emailed around the office.... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

Just make sure that your backups did actually backup. I did a format/reinstall once on my uni computer. I managed to loose all of my electronic references and my reference database of ~700 references. The only way I knew what I had was that I had paper copies of all my refs. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

Then I should get the Racer. It's got dark and neon pink. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

I was refering to the marks allocated to the actual presentation of the information, not the information itself. I could write up 3 different presentations that gave the same info and get responses from snores to cheers. I would give info on what I'm looking for in a presentation. I wouldn't tell you how to present it, or what to present. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

I got slammed on my openening today

Yeah, that would do it.... . On that same note, I've jumped collapsible sliders and pilotchutes on my last ~10 jumps. I've been pretty paranoid about making sure everything is pulled tight and cocked... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies -
Mini (type 17) risers without the re-inforcement tape between the webbing at the grommet. Throw them away. Hook Just some clarification: Is the pic of reinforced risers, or non-reinforced? -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

It's a used Racer. I'll check the risers when I get home... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
