  2. 6' and 64 kg. How's that for mixing metaphors? 76 kg geared up. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  3. Go to www.apf.asn.au. Look under 'publications'. The OpRegs and TOM should be in there. Plus the B-rel book... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

It's a bunch of 2-ways that teach you to fly your body. 9 2-ways and 3 4-ways. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  5. Yes. You owe only one carton of beer. Unless you conspired to do your first cessna jump with your new rig. In which case, you owe 2 cartons. (local interpretation of aforementioned beer rules) -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  6. Actually, you need your D to not jump a cypres. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

    Flame FF pants

Try http://www.airsuits.com. I'm getting a RW suit from them ( it should be arriving this week :)) They can do custom designs, and there's a nice set of 'flamish' FF suits on their page too. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  8. Depends on the DZ Ron. At my DZ ( a single cessna DZ) the DZSO knows everything that is going on. At a multi-turbine DZ, you would get a different story... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  9. What if they do a super chow; how do you dry out the reserve and container? -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  10. I'm getting mine from Airsuits. It _should_ be here next week. I'll have to write up a review for that too. . How do you do reviews for gear that doesn't exist in the list? -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

    2 way exits?

Yes. When I was doing my B-rels, my instructor told me that if I am approaching properly, then he'll be there for me to take grips. If I'm coming in fast, he'll turn, so that I would take side grips if I kept going. Thats how he told me if I was too fast. If I was belting in, he'd turn sideways, wait for me to slow down, and if I didn't, he'd just track off for a bit to get out of my way. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

    dilema

I weigh 65kg. I went from a student rig with a 270 to a sports rig with a 170. This is at a cessna DZ, so there is quite a bit of oversight from the DZSO and other instructors. I currently have a Racer with a Sabre 150. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

  14. WL = exit weight (lb) / canopy area (ft^2) . so for you... 200/190 = 1.05 -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  15. skytash just asked my question for me. I can handle the 120 day repack and the seal. I can get that done over here. But it's the FAA rigger bit that worries me. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

    2 way exits?

Why not? You'll have to do a swoop approach sometime, why not start now and learn it? -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  17. How far away did he land? (I have seen the vid) -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  18. We gave out the Helen Keller spot award this weekend. There was me and another jumper in the Cessna, we were doing a drifter run before the students went up. Chucked the drifter at 2k, and did a circuit up to 3k for us to get out. The other was spotting, and he normally jumps where the pilot spots by GPS. I was looking out the window thinking "Where are we going?" He managed to get us out on the wrong side of the runway on a crosswind jump run. I dumped out the door and spent the entire time on my rears and ended up landing a couple of metres from the target. He went down to 25 and ended up about 300 m from the target. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  19. GMT +8 THe best time. Don't worry about the world ending today; it's already tomorrow in Australia.... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  20. 0:4:1 4 free h'n'p's. Our DZ had a bunch of SL students doing jumps, so I tagged along for the ride. Power-on exits from the Islander are nice :) I've been working on my accuracy for the past 10-15 jumps or so, and the vast majority have been landed within 10 m, and the last five have been within 5 m. Then I finally nominate a landing and it blows out to 20 m. Damn. Oh well, it is still within my licence requirements..... Also, you can see me in the door at 3k before exit. I like my fluro orange pants.... 1 carton owed for my new rig. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies

  22. 80:0 . From the ASM (Australian Skydiving Magazine) the ratio for cutaways from APF licence renewals was 738:1. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  23. I use the round filing cabinet, and if its not around, I'll chuck it in the rubbish. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  24. I (mum) made some pants out of talson, or parasilk, depending on where you buy it from. I just wanted somthing to wear on fun dives, and the fact that I haven' got my rel suit yet... We're (she's) going to make up a second pair of pants, and a jacket too. I love my mum... -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
  25. You don't need you A to start your B-rels. Lots of people use the B-rel jumps to fulfill the requirements for their A. As for students using non-student gear, that is a BIG no-no. OpRegs (or the TOM) say that you need your A licence to jump non-student gear. -- Arching is overrated - Marlies
