    base jumping

[disclaimer] I have never base jumped[/disclaimer] Ive read on a lot of base jumping sites and a very low but somewhat safe distance is 300ft. I did however read about a base jump at like 90ft inside a cathedral in Europe. Only one guy jumped while his buddy held on to the PC. It read that the sound of the canopy opening inside the building scared the crap out of the nuns and priests. They did not get arrested. 2. Probably Nobody's heard this much out of me ever, but I'm totally relaxed. Just in a real good mood. Plus I'm kinda sick of just reading all of the time so I'm doing some posting. Looks like I caught you by suprise.muahahaha CHris " Thanks, you're special " - My brother talking to the Wendy's employee
  3. Yeah!! I got it on Tuesday. It's awesome!! Those blue swirley beads look cool as hell. You did an awesome job, thank you thanks again, CHris " Thanks, you're special " - My brother talking to the Wendy's employee
  4. I knew I should have worn my flame proof underpants. I dont care though bowling is awesome!! I go every week and KICK SOME A$$!!! If you think about it bowling is a lot like skydiving... ( pulling a fresh pair of flame proof underpants out of my dresser ) CHris " Thanks, you're special " - My brother talking to the Wendy's employee
  5. I like this idea Friday- Leave work early and drive down to Skydive Chicago to do some freefly coach jumps. After finally learning how not to spin like a top in a sitfly DRINK. Saturday- Sleep off the hangover and then take my girlfriend out to lunch because after that I'm going to a batchlor party!!!woooohooooo After enjoying a night of a lot of alcohol, boobies err... I mean strippers, and laughs; pass out somewhere. Sunday-Sleep a lot and JUMP some more. Then drink some beer and have a good time. Maybe go bowling. Monday-Grill out and chill in and watch a movie or something. I dont know. I'll let everyone know on Tuesday!! CHris " Thanks, you're special " - My brother talking to the Wendy's employee
  6. I was way out due to " lack of penetration" haha CHris " Thanks, you're special " - My brother talking to the Wendy's employee
  7. Something tells me you haven't been to Illinois, where a hill is considered to be a land mass thats taller that you. I think this is the flatest state in USA. Open fields make good for DZ's though. Life really is good. Screw hills and give me open fields w/ no power lines, an airstrip, and a plane. I'll be happy CHris " Thanks, you're special " - My brother talking to the Wendy's employee
  8. I havent been into snowboarding for long at all. My first ( I bet your thinking beer but its SNOWBOARDING ) board I bought was my friends old one and usually a bunch of us will go to this old brick road thats closed off w/ a handle of Captain Morgan and try to do 180's or see how many people can jump over. My friend is working towards his A license and broke his wrist snowboarding last season so I dont think he'll be snowboarding this season. I kinda like going to the DZ in the winter. I did much of my AFP in Feb and March and its quieter and more room in the otter. As far as skiing goes, I've never even had a pair of skiis on my feet. Only 19 though I've got my whole life ahead of me CHris " Thanks, you're special " - My brother talking to the Wendy's employee
  9. Hell yeah!! Do you know how dangerous that is?? I'll stick to hurling myself out of a plane at 13,000ft above the ground than going 40mph across the ground into a tree!! I bought a snowboard last season and I'm not too sure its going to see that much action this Winter. I'm scared CHris " Thanks, you're special " - My brother talking to the Wendy's employee
  10. Hey MM, If and when you do make it down there besure to have manifest page me....I plan on jumping throught the winter (20f and up) so I'll be a decent skydiver by then. CHris " Thanks, you're special " - My brother talking to the Wendy's employee
  11. I'm no expert ( 32 jumps ) and I could be wrong but what I have done is if I'm w/ the wind I leave my brakes stowed and keep the riser pulled down to get the most hang time. If I'm against the wind I would Pull my legs up and put the slider behind my head. Maybe a little front riser action to gain speed. If I'm wrong please somebody clarify. 12. After talking to Glen at SDC I found out that there is no planned live water training in the works but he wants to do one in September. All he could tell me is to keep an eye on their web site. www.skydivechicago.com. Hope that helps buddy. Peace CHris "..and your hands and knees felt cold and wet on the grass beneth." - modest mouse

  16. I just called SDC for ya and they said the guy is not there today but she thinks the next one is in September. I can try tomorrow for you. CHris "..and your hands and knees felt cold and wet on the grass beneth." - modest mouse
  17. ....or fill an old Rx bottle w/ altoids and start handing 'em out to experieced jumpers only. Its better if there is a label that says may cause drowsieness that is clearly visible CHris "..and your hands and knees felt cold and wet on the grass beneth." - modest mouse
  18. The student rigs are very safe. At least where I jump. They're Javelins w/ BOC. They're pretty much just like the rig an experienced jumper would use w/o the options. The only difference I noticed, ( mind I only have 32 jumps so I not very smart ) is the JM can pull a red handle on the other side of the BOC pouch to deploy the PC and they're all Cypres and RSL equipped. Thats also the same gear they rent out. As far as the canopies go, when I was in AFP earlier in the year they had Icarus Safires and now they're all Sabre2's. Hope this helps you some. 19. Big Nate!! Thats awesome you had such a cool jump That jump will stay w/ you forever!! over a year in this sport and it still feels like my 1st jump was yesterday. Congrats!! CHris "..and your hands and knees felt cold and wet on the grass beneth." - modest mouse
  20. I never had any flying dreams but before I started skydiving I would have hang-gliding and bungee jumping dreams all the time. It was always in weird places though, like a bungee jump off of my roof etc... I have a lot of FF dreams that are either awesome or scary. Scariest one was when I first started skydiving, I did a jump w/ all the jumpmasters and my DZ and when I Threw my PC the lines were like 100ft long and I bounced. My most recent dream was a two way w/ Roger and we had a flying disc. ( like the floppy ones for dogs ) and it took place 100ft over my back yard. He would throw it to me and up then I would change my fall rate and float up to it. We played frisbee for a while then I deployed my chute and it opened 10ft above the ground and I flared and PLF'd in a corn field behind my house. Really vivid. 21. ...especially w/ your helmet and goggles on. When I first got my helmet I wore it at a party I threw ( being really drunk ) and asking everyone,[voice of Warren from there is something about mary] " Have you seen my wiener? " ,[/voice of Warren from there is something about mary] Skydiving equipment doesnt even need to be for skydiving to be good for something... CHRis
  22. GO TO THE MAN SHOW!! Unless a tornado or earthquake comes through your town, the DZ will be there next weekend, where as the Man Show will not. Just my $0.02. Remember, Girls jumping on trampolines. The Juggies. Beer. Comedy. Midgets. The list goes on and on. CHris
  23. No wonder my subconsious has been introducing Jagermeister to Women everywhere!!! Cheers, CHris
  24. 1. Jagermeister. ( " You only brought one bottle?!? " ) 2. Jim Beam/Jack Daniels. ( After my shot of Jager. ) 3. Rolling Rock and latley Killians Irish Red. 4. Screwdrivers!!! ( " Get lotsa orange juice, it's Screwdriver night!!! " ) I'd have to say thats what I drink the most. At one point in my life I was downing a liter of Jim every 4 nights. Right around graduation time. Usually beer though. I've been digging Rolling Rock but Budweiser and Icehouse are usually bought so I drink whats in front of me
