People tell me that I'm stonefaced and look scared as hell but I'm really thinking about the jump. I'm not nervous about jumping out of an airplane as much as I'm nervous about screwing the jump up. (usually floating) CHris

I just found out that Wings is offering riser inserts for the cutaway cables w/ new orders, since i emailed them for instruction on assembling my rig (different thread) I asked how i could get the inserts and she said she'll mail them off today. hell yeah, again they proved to be awesome with customer service. Believe it or not but it's already been over a week!! Taking it one day at a time is making the time fly right by. These patches are giving me the most cinematic(sp?) and vivid dreams I've ever had. They are always between the 9 minute snooze alarms. The one I had this morning was crrraaaazzzzyyy. I'm in this shitty building watching TV and this guy that I know but have never seen before leaves and says he is going to the D.M.V. All of a sudden I'm outside the the D.M.V seeing that guy getting out of his truck. He doesnt park his truck so when he gets out the truck continues down the street and plows into traffic at the intersection. I walk down the the accident and these two cops grab me and the whole time they're dragging me to this picnic table behind a building but you can see the D.M.V. which is across the street. They keep asking me who that guy is and where is he going and I tell them that I don't know who he is and that he's going to the D.M.V. and I point to the building across the street. The cops look at me like I'm crazy and drag me down to the edge of the street, like kinda behind a fence. They tell me to look at the D.M.V. building and wait. I see a whole bunch of beautiful women going in and out and the cops then tell me its a whore house. So all these hookers are walking around this building and then they turn into wearwolves and start killing pedestrians (I think I've been playing Grand Theft Auto 3 too much) I roll to my right and see two guys w/ pitch black noses w/ the tip missing (must of been a saigon whore they visited) and that totally freaks me and the cops out so the 3 of us run up to the picnic table. All of these dogs come from my right and up to me so I'm yelling " get 'em Rocky " (my dog's name is Rocky) and the dog would run away. Then another one would come and I'd do the same thing and they would run away and so on. then my alarm went off. It was like I was in a movie or something CHris

ROFLMAO!!! My girlfriend is pumped about the tandem I bought her for Xmas and I joke w/ her that she will be sit-flying w/ me by summer. She says she wants to continue but she hasn't jumped yet so there is no way of telling. I think she'll get addicted like so many. Or at least I hope she does CHris

You got me. the risers are already on my container so i would be hooking up my main to my risers. thanks for the replies and i did email PISA and Sunrise Rigging for some help. That guy i talked to really struck a chord w/ me, i did not learn how to skydive there but he didnt know that, i called that DZ because mine is closed and i've jumped there once before and thought it was nice. What kept me from going back is that they never had a rig i could rent. CHris

I'm a low time jumper (42 jumps) and my question is: where can i find step by step instruction on hooking my main to my risers and the bridle and pc to the top of my canopy? Is this something i can do or should i let a rigger do it? A guy i just called at a DZ said i should be able to do this right of student status. Am i just ignorant or was he being a dick? CHris

Yeah, these patches really help but what i learned is that you have too follow the instructions. I tried quitting w/ the patches about 2 years ago but i kind of used them when i felt like it and ended up smoking again. Now i've read all of the material and even listened to the tape they give you ( its a really stupid tape but funny as hell ) and i'm doing good this time. Shit w/ a name like yours I'm worried too. People have told me i haven't been a pain in the ass too be around since quitting so i havent affected anyone, but my right leg is starting to get bigger then my left from the constant shaking i've been doing. Much appreciated, and if your on the load try to get extra alt. I know i can't be choosy but its worth a shot I agree and thats where my will power has to work overtime. I keep telling myself " don't even ask for a drag, don't even ask for a drag" the challenge is almost the fun part, let alone the fufilment after the craving passes. CHris

I'm driving home from work last thursday and after throwing my cigerette out the window i start to think. i think how i'm only 20 and i can't go up 6 flights of stairs in the building i work in w/o feeling like passing out, i think how i cant play football for more than ten minutes before i need a rest, and i think of a life thats only going to get worse as i age. sooooo, i quit smoking the last cigerette i had was the one i threw out the window thursday night. i'm using the patch which is really helping me do this. that night i went to a bar (thank god for friends that bartend) and chewed up a couple of straws and did a lot of shots but did not smoke the usual 10 cigerettes. the whole weekend i was around smokers and fought the whole time. (and i thought the 1st jump was hard, HA.) i'm not telling anyone to quit or feel bad for smoking, its just something i needed to do, just like getting my USPA license and jumping. One day i got the feeling that I just needed to. (the typing gets my mind of smoking) CHris

As you can tell from my name i haven't figured it out yet I've been free flying a lot so going into a stand to catch the base that is in a sit works for me, when I was doing RW i would just arch hard and would catch up pretty well. On the exit to catch the base i kind on went into a dive and then to a hard arch. I'm 6ft and 135 naked so i have little mass and a lot of surface area. CHris

I don't have a picture of my container but i can give you an idea. all of the outside is black. the reserve container ( where your rigger actually puts the reserve in ) is silver. the pop top is royal blue the three stripes on the bottom reserve flap is silver/ royal blue/ silver the wings logo on the mud flap and the top reserve flap is red, it offsets the black and blue and looks awesome. hope this helps
