On the National news they were discussing the fact that there was 300+ years of experiance in the group, guides, avalanche beacons, etc etc,, and it still happened,,, then the question "is it worth the risk??" OK, I finished up an hour video and some folks wanted it on a DVD, so I took it to a dude and had 10 DVD's made with the intent they can be viewed on folks home DVD machines, his price for 10 DVD's $200,, and now they won't play on some folks home DVD players, play fine in others, not on some PC's, play fine on other PC's,, When I had my PC built I knew DVD burners were having problems with codecs that could play at home etc. and the prices were coming down also,, My question is,, is there a universal codec or format that DVD home machines can read that is available for a burner on the market yet?? If so where?? I've seen some burners that are brand names available for not much more than what I paid to get the DVD's made, so ya the prices are coming down, but hesitant ta buy one due to the codec issue,, I still have a lot ta learn about this video thing...
