Sun Dogs usaully appear in a line through the Sun out at a certain angle on both sides, sometimes along the "rings around the sun", and out again from that with arcs reversed with the right conditions,, most of the differances with Glories, rainbows, Sun dogs etc. occur depending on looking towards or away from the sun,, and how close the water vapor/crystal form is to you.. Another one... night jump,, building a 4-way round,, guy below me decides he couldn't read his alti in the dark after all,, so he dumps at 9K after a 10K exit,, I was diving to the base,, scared the crap outta me when I felt a canopy go by... you could hear it on the video,, I can understand wanting to get open when ya don't know your alt,, a nice big wave off would have been appreciated!! I'm thinking of investing in a DVD burner,, possibly the Sony DRU500AX for home PC use with DV & Pinnacle 8.5,, the only program I'm familiar with,, curious what you all are using and why,, don't really want' to spend an arm and a leg so that is a factor also... Hay All, This just happened to be our safety and training tip for the day at work. After witnessing Hol's accident, I feel this may have played a major factor in her lack of action. The information came from the Aeronautical Information Manual, AIM, Section 8-1-5. It deals with illusions pilots may experiance while in flight and what maneuvers they take in response. We are all piloting our canopies and I saw many possibilities relating to how we fly, especially on final approaches, in spins as was Hol, and also numerous situations that may occur during a night jump. I feel we all should be aware of these possibilities, read them, and maybe make them part of the USPA Safety Day review. I will type them all out later when I have time.. I am at work an the bosses are wondering what the hell I'm doin,, but I was hoping maybe PilotDave or someone in that line will know of a link to that section of the AIM and could post it here. No shit,, Trauma arrests are hard to get back,, even if right there when they happen,, just off orientation, my helo ( Eurocopter twin stars ) was officially dubbed the "Death Star" .... year or 2 ago in these forums we discussed some advanced skills stuff ta have handy for ALS folks at the DZ,, ie chest darts, crics, adult intubation stuff and an AMBU,, large bore IV access for central lines and fluids,, stuff ta help stop getting to the PEA algorythym... paralytics were also discussed as well as some sedatives... ya know just in case.... Hay,, Would really consider the benefits and retirement issues... usaully your a state employee... what is AMR's or whoever the local providers package?? What kinda schedule do they have? also remember your an EMT... not an EMT-P,, working into an EMT-P role will take time and the real money & bene's as one is in the Fire dept area,, competition is tough there,, I've never worked in a prison,, been in jail a couple times,, whole nuther subject,, never worked one tho... At altitude just remember the basics, ABC's,, positioning for shock and airway too.. some jump ships have 02 on them in some form and may be usefull,, another thing I would add to the list of good stuff already mentioned would be ta have the number to your local EMS helo available,, Our DZ is 30 miles from the nearest trauma center,, local ambulance folks are volunteers and do a good job,, but theyre all basic EMT's,, and the local hospital is more like a nursing home with an ER "bed" that may /may not have an MD in house... speed is critical in the serious patient so I wouldn't hesitate to call the helo directly, Our helo pilots are familiar with the DZ, having your local helo folks familiar with your ops might be something to consider... I don't think the G's in a rapid descent would really do much harm to a patient, unless they had ya'll floating around the plane!! Most G's occur during take off and landing,, then ya should consider the positioning of the patient away from or towards the anticipated forces... Natural Born FlyerZ.com

Thanks again for the info... Initially I baked my Mindwarp,, then mounted the camera D-box to it,, I was getting a lot of vibration on the video, especially at high speeds like in FF,, The D-box pulled that side of the helmet out, and ta get it tight enough ta stop the vibration it practically choked me... I'm wondering if I can/should rebake it with the D-box on it when I do the chin cup to get a better fit?? Whaddya think.... Again Thanks for the help guys Natural Born FlyerZ.com

It will be interesting to see the lawsuits fly on this one,, who is ultimately responsible here any way,, the owner for letting the folks in??
