  1. I like Obama better than all the current candidates (both parties) I like Bush better than Obama I like Clinton better than Bush I like GHB better than Clinton I like Ron better than GHB I didn't really like Carter, but he was a gentleman (during his term) but the overall trend is going towards less statesmanship and moving to lowbrow entertainment and shockjock idiocy we should be getting better candidates, but it seems we just keep sliding the other way but that's what the market (voting public and press) demands, and the supply side is responding (insert childishly cruel meme here) ... 3. I agree - Great - now I can tell the difference between them - two groups I still don't back: 1 - Nice guys with good intention that want to push their religion/socialcrap on me through government for my own good - they can balance the centerline Dems (who outnumber them significantly) 2 - Assholes that pretend religion supports their particular assholery even though it doesn't - they can balance the hard core one or two issue Dems - like the race baiters and over-the-top envirofreaks I hope people realize, that if both left the Republicans, then the party would actually be left with just the true libertarians and businessmen and every day folks. I can get behind this and it would likely draw a lot of centrist Dems over too. It would dilute the number crooks too as they tend to gravitate to fanatical parties - now separated. I can hope...... ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants
  4. You could make that argument about the rest of the GOP candidates, but its pretty easily demonstrable that Trump in this election is simply acting in the exact same way that he has acted for his entire life. I agree (your 'easy demonstration' is the fact of how natural it is for him to be a complete jackass). But that argument and your observation are not mutually exclusive either. (I know you only want to point out the Reps, but let's not exclude the Dems either - they mastered those techniques long ago. You might not see it so easily if you've bought into the standard strawmen of only the one side and not both) here's a great pic for this thread ... 5. honestly. and at least it's a step up from "Hey - I've got a vagina and it's my turn" I can get behind the "I'm not THAT guy" position as a point that is arguably more than just cosmetics. ... 6. One could make the argument that Trump has been seeing candidates use strawman arguments, mean spirited attacks, and thin illogical appeals to emotion for the last several elections. and he's a quick learner and is just applying those observations at a MUCH higher level and we're surprised he's sucking in the lowest common denominator from both parties? (half the people in the world are below average) ... 7. seems to be a pointless comment - it's not like those are mutually exclusive (IMO - I don't see that very often. What I do see is the most experienced trackers do better than the newbies regardless of suits, (which I think is the good point you are making) But out of the most experienced tracker groups - the bootie flyers beat the others by a LOT) ... 9. (zombie time I guess - I suspect I can say more nice things about Hillary then you could even bear to think about Cruz or Rubio - even though all three represent the same thing in my book) Of course - I'm sure if she wins, she'll note that it's pretty much an anti-Trump sentiment. She certainly wouldn't treat it as "Mandate of the People" to push it further. I mean, newly elected presidents never do that. what a relief you set me so straight oh wise one at least she can put back some of the white house gear they took and clean up the mess they left there I think it'll be an easy win if she sticks with the key message "HILLARY - hey, I'm not THAT guy" (Bernie would be throttled back by Reps, but good that even you now admit that if Dems held both houses, he'd have a chance to bankrupt the planet. If Trump goes all non-linear, either or both parties would hold him back - for either common sense, or just good PR. And Yes, of the other 3, Hillary or Cruzbio would pretty much just be more of the sam'o sam'o - which also sucks) no matter what happens, I can at least look forward to clever skits from comedians and late night hosts. Of the five - I don't really see any I'd pick over 3rd party (Rand is out, Chris is out, of the original crew (not that churchy 2nd string), they seem to be leaving in reverse order of what I'd be able to stomach), no matter how wasteful and horrible that is to true believers. ... 10. This would be fantastic. Unfortunately, the D's aren't recognizing how horrible their choices are also. The ones with the really thick glasses are hugging themselves and just hoping the Reps only will totally meltdown and they will get to open the floodgates. We need them all to take off their glasses. I'm hoping with you though. ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants
  11. I like the idea of ranked choice. It can be gamed of course, but the one model where you just keep dropping the lowest candidate out and divvying up his votes to the remaining candidates - repeat until someone has over half - I like it a lot. Thoughtful people can actually rank their choices, and the party line fanatics can just ranked their own guys over the others without worry of losing their vote. You get to vote for your person 1st, but still allow the others in as backups with your philosophy. It allows you to vote against someone by ranking them last..... I don't see a downside. Gratuitous and useless slam on America noted and appreciated. Very special. ... 12. I am so thrilled to see more and more people talking like this. Including so many that never did before. I still see the party-only zombies in play, they are getting ridiculously frantic now. But the others (IMO - more reasonable and aware types) are coming out of the woodwork. Maybe the only really good thing that will come from this election cycle. Hopefully it's powerful enough. ... 14. Sure, I can see it, it's a tricky one - even more definitive would be a personal trailer parked on a privately owned trailer park. However (to stay consistent) - Instead of a law, I'd rather have a written and signed and enforceable contract between the parties on the subject. Rather than count on the whims of lawmakers. So for a gun in a parking lot at my employers? I'd trust a contract with them a lot more than this week's law trying to override that contract...... ... 16. I'd rather had Christie in the running.... I'm not surprised at the endorsement. Christie is clearly pretty disgusted with establishment republicans, social republicans, christian conservative republicans. For that matter, just the typical career politician type. He is philosophically diametric to Bernie, and Hillary is just an even more despicable flip side of the Cruzbio type of politician. So he can't even switch sides. I guess there's no point in hoping Kasich or the Doctor makes a surge..... - So that pretty much means he's anti-Cruz and anti-Rubio and that backs him into the only spot remaining. ... 17. The idea of a "travelling cell of private property" is actually pretty good. That's how it is considered in Wisconsin. No property owner can ban anything (legally posessed), as long as it's left in a locked car. That was one of the "prerequisite" laws the concealed carry crowd had implemented to make CCW work. I find it ok, only because it's silly to think a property owner can enforce it on any locked car. (So in application, it's a moot point) In philosophy, I still think people should be king of their castles. My house (my biz), my rules. I can't force you to change something, but I can tell you to do it elsewhere. (edit: I think "no Gun zones" in general are really stupid. Though I'd have to support a property owner's decision to have it in place and would respect it on their property. I'd still think he's making a stupid choice.) ... 18. liberal politics - 1 - people don't like certain tax laws 2 - everybody follows the tax laws both Reps and Dems 3 - Liberals use #2 to try and belittle a Rep for election reasons. They ignore the same of Dems. 4 - Kallend thinks that #3 = #1. By definition (i.e., something bad - is clearly proven if twisted to shore up a Dems election chances) Now, Reps are also using #4 it on Reps (therefore Kallend is a Rep ) funny, libertarians just start and end at #1 ... 19. actually - I edited it almost immediately to add a bit on the bumper sticker. for the rest - I'm talking what I consider right or wrong under my personal philosophy (individual determination is king, and that includes respect for another's decision concerning their private property). whatever the codes are in Iowa....It's not my concern or fed my answer. If they conflict, then I consider those codes to be morally wrong and an imposition on true liberties. You can't tell me I'm 'wrong' when I'm relaying my opinion. And if you don't like the parking situation or the rules of your company, you can change jobs of course. or lobby to get them to change their rules. or just ignore it and don't get caught. I am talking right or wrong too So It is ok with you that an employer would force an employee to remove a bumper sticker since the employee vehicle is packed in the employers lot? I do not expect you to answer this anymore because you cant and stay consistent with your views on two different rights. answered - look up at the previous two posts of mine - he can't force you to remove it. but he can make you choose to park elsewhere if you don't. 22. and the great debater strikes again Let me ask you this. Should your employer have the right to tell you to remove a bumper sticker from your car is parked in said companies lot? And the only reason I would need any kind of translator would be to try and understand some of the liberal loons out there..... Depends on the parking lot: 1 - Private lot, owned by the company, yes, they can tell you not have a firearm in it. I'm at a loss, though as to how they could enforce it in any way (I can tell you my rules, but I don't think I can search your car on a whim). However, I think there is a very reasonable argument, though, that whatever is inside that car is none of their business - particularly since the intent is to keep the firearm from entering their buildings. it's weird, because it's a little traveling cell of private property going into and out of another's area of private property......So, do I treat a car similar as I would my house?, or similar to how I'd treat a briefcase..... I'd default to respecting the private property owner's right. If you want to keep your gun in the car, go park in a public lot or on the street. 2 - Public lot - absolutely no, they can't tell a citizen what to have in his vehicle. Bumper sticker (on private property)? I'd say yes. Go park elsewhere or pull that sticker. Just like if your sticker offends me, I could kick you off my driveway but I couldn't kick you off of parking on the street next to the driveway. ... 24. this^ just like the Kerry and Romney thing. Trump is likely audited every single year of his life. So I doubt there is any legal problems at all. Both the left and the right want their opponents to release their returns so they can dig into it and show and spin "LEGAL" deductions and accounting to try and get the public spun up. Instead of using these as opportunities to discuss the problems of our out of control tax code (real issue), they just try to score points with voters (strawman). ...
