  2. Cynical me thinks that a trophy company came up with the whole concept just to increase sales. I'm happy that I'm not the only one with this sickness now, Christmas is behind us, better go figure out which jewelry you need to get your wife for Valentines ... 4. Really? you fail to see this? A judge that has "ultra" viewpoints is trying to push his social agenda....... like it doesn't happen all the time and on both extremes of the social agenda...... I have one criteria for my public servants really - they uphold the law. (especially judicial and executive duties. Legislative is supposed to have a balance where competing biases are debated and offset each other) they can have any social inclinations they want as far as I'm concerned....provided it doesn't bias them in their duties to try and change society in any way other than upholding the law. Unfortunately, when our vetting process includes a lot of 'litmus test' type questions, and nomination processes that absolutely LIVE on the assumption that personal social biases WILL affect their duties...... how can we NOT have this type of crappy judicial practice with lefties and righties trying to push themselves on the rest of us? ... 6. ^^^^^ (for the win) I honestly believe that we've become so self centered, that legal process, and the rights of others, is something people just don't care about - as long as they get what they want. Your comment is so refreshing. The fact that it's refreshing is sad though. It should be obvious and main stream. ... 8. This is speaker's corner, mister. considering some anti-gunners' attitudes, you would be considered a traitor, or at least a compromiser. We need work here to raise that game another notch to extreme positions for or against. the goal is to consider just the fact of 'seeing' a gun, or even a drawing of a gun to being 'unsafe'. Then conniption fits, heart attacks, insensitivity, and fierce legislative action occurs. Conversely, you may also argue the position that you have the right to unlock your car door next to an orphanage by firing bullets. ... 9. You don't like Lucas? What, you got a problem with fluffy Muppets and lousy video composition and gimmicks, whiney lead characters, and low level over-acting? Agree - Lucas can write a story any time he likes and I'll support. But, PLEASE, for the love of all that is good and true, keep that guy away from a camera! IV was good - but DESPITE Lucas, not because V was the best one - no surprise VI, I, II, III sucked donkey balls (2 for 6 is NOT a good track record) This time DESPITE what's a very good story line. VII - very pleasantly surprised - pretty much any content that sucked in this one was items that appear to be pay homage to Lucas' directing (fortunately very little) ... 10. yes - exactly. And this has been a direct result of the way politics has been conducted over the last few decades. Perhaps one of the more poignant examples of how supply and demand can result over the long term into unhealthy market choices.....(you know how hard that was for me to write...) 11. Brian's point is precisely correct. the point being "A jumper that has just exited is in the same air mass as the aircraft, and their trajectory will look exactly the same in 0 wind, 100 mph headwind, 100 mph tailwind" ^^^ THIS is the only thing that matters - if you are in the plane and watching the jumpers, it's a totally useless observation. Look at your finger, look at the deck of the plane, or look at the pilot is exactly equivalent the zero content info you might imagine you are getting. Look at the ground, or count your fingers is better than watching the skydivers that just left. At least you get some useable information Your ability to understand why others came up with a false notion is commendable though - maybe that empathy is a good thing and will help efforts in convincing them why they are wrong. 12. not really, the holdovers seem to be freestylists, and those small groups of freeflyers that take themselves way too seriously - but that's observed all over oh, and I have no observations of wing suiters, they could be doing the Hokey Pokey as far as I know and I try not to observe CrWDawgs either, it makes my eyes burn, so that's filed, also, under 'no data' ... 13. that it's 'unheard of' is a sad enough story and a tribute to the success of government to foster divisiveness. ironic that it takes someone to be SO divisive as to be a caricature of it to actually draw us together in the middle It was bound to happen that the wacky left 10% and the wacky right 10% each grew big enough that eventually the middle would have to agree at some point that we start to overlap just for self preservation.... we are together on this one - so we need better choices - again. We've moved from choosing between candidates that are insidiously and covertly (sort of) divisive, to now just having blatant divisiveness thrown in our faces with a 'screw you, pick one' ... 14. "do you really want another (Bush, Obama, Trump)" - yeah, because that's never been used before (the 1700's) So....what you are saying is - the other party always predicts Armegeddon if the other guy gets in and they will spend the next 4-8 years rationalizing they were right. But THIS time it's different and the DEMs really, really, REALLY, mean it about Trump (and the Reps about Hillary too right?) Before it was just fake and all about the PR aspect, but now it's really real. I intended to focus on the PR/marketing/delivery style in campaigning. In that the following election candidates will still have the same tired and rehashed old divisive platforms, but will be rude and vulgar about it to pander to the voters. This playing on divisiveness to a level the Dems never dreamed was possible in their wettest dreams. But you seem to have, not surprisingly, read my post as just his platform content and an opportunity to say "No, Armageddon is REALLY a possibility THIS time". The fact that I agree with you is beside the point it's still funny (except for the fact that we raise another order of magnitude each time we elect a new guy in how horribly they ignore freedoms and constitutional process. Everyone before was a 1, Bush was a shocking 10, then Obama a 100, why should we be surprised when the next one goes to 1000 and the public allows it) Again we are at risk of a big fundraising opportunity - 3 choices at voting time. Hillary, Donald, or 25 cents apiece for the suicide booth option. (referencing Futurama Graphic elsewhere) ... 15. NO - If Trump wins - then both parties will establish focus groups to figure out what he did differently and then we'll get more offerings in the next election that have a lot of his style of marketing. If will be a more blatant and assholish version of what we already have - politicians dumbing it down on both sides to their most simple of constituents. YAY - bumper sticker politics and caricatures and stereotypes win. But.....at least we get a choice - the idiotic, rude, and loud extremists on the right vs the idiotic, rude, and loud extremists on the left. vote early - vote often ... 19. The term is getting a little warmer. Why not just "Violence Control?" Guns have nothing to do with it. I've had many guns in my day and none of them were ever violent. Also would add, do you think that by taking the gun out of the bad guys hands that he would all of the sudden stop being violent? Yes, I like "Violence Control." ^ This - it then focuses on the root of the issue, not the sidetrack. (that said, I like what Kallend is appearing to try to do here. It's constructive) ... 20. I believe it, and understand why you both chose as you did. Just saying 1 - whether someone takes blame or not, it still has to be reported if damages greater than $X dollars. So trading info is a good idea regardless. Because under at least my state's law, it still had to be reported. Maybe later, but still. 2 - because of number 1 above there the incident would be on record eventually if either party decides to report it as a good little citizen. So it's a good idea for you both to take that info and a couple pictures anyway. Because as nice as he is at the scene, he could do a complete 180 on you and turn it into a he said/she said. 3 - Ditto for him, because after the fact, you could also have turned around and claimed whiplash or the like. With that, I admire the trust you showed in the other guy. And this time you both acted honorably about it. ... 21. Dekker is correct - if someone is "INVOLVED" in an accident, most states have a minimum damage amount that requires you report it, or even wait and get an accident report written up. The numbers for my state are like $1500 or $2500 or so, I don't recall the exact amount. But that's pretty much repair cost for almost any visible damage nowadays. ... 22. Thank you very much - That's nice of you Scooby, but neither she nor I will use the forums for advertisement as it's pretty blatantly abused on the forums. I just want people know this isn't planted like so many do. (Scooby is just that kind of nice guy). It is so very appreciated. It's my wife's business. But it's ok if the moderators want to clear the entry, she's going to school and isn't actively trying to grow the suit building business by a lot.
