  3. ^ this is the perfect response IMO 30 jumps is basis for little, especially after 10 years - it's barely a novice level of experience for someone that's current. However, the tunnel time certainly is in favor. So: 1 - FJC - absolutely needed as a safety refresher course. Silly to NOT do it. Sometimes I'll let a returning jumper sit and participate - depends on the management and the class size. I've had very experienced jumpers sit a full class just to refresh - if they are willing, certainly a 30 jump newbie shouldn't skip it. 2 - Cat A or a modified Cat A (with turns and motion) is a good option to assess his starting point. 3 - The instructors can then assess the necessary skill set needed from there and do an accelerated course if the student shows he's heads up enough for it. If so, great - a couple jumps with an AFF I, and then release to coaches. If not, nothing wrong with the full progression. But I, for one, couldn't tell unless I see him fly at least one jump (both freefall and canopy). ... 4. I don't think you understand why New York Democrats would want to vote Trump in the primaries. I can think of two reasons: 1 - they either like him, or are really disenchanted with everyone else - quite a lot of Dems and Reps fit this category - too bad they don't find a nice libertarian to put this energy into 2 - they really don't like him and want to give Hillary more of a chance to win since she is slightly less despicable. And a known factor at least I suspect it's a mix of both ... 7. Posters or lurkers? Poster being those that actually comment, lurkers being those that vote but don't comment ever Neither - BillV considers 'members' to be posters - whether they actually ever post in a thread or not. So it's a fun opportunity to have another crappy semantics argument. Another consideration if you also just look at those that comment - You have to consider the en masse group left leaning squad here to be just 'one' entity - by definition, a single social collective. Then, it's not three of the usual righties (one could count them as individuals - I'm finding that false considering the blind groupthink of Trump followers, but that's another post) posting a couple opinions opinions getting belittled and attacked and PA'd by a crowd of the usual 9 lefties in concert (1 to 3 ratio in favor of the left). it's actually just 3 righties getting lectured on the appropriate way to think and that they should be ashamed of their horribleness by 1 highly intelligent and righteous entity doing it for the good of society (3 to one ratio in favor of the right). And a handful of us watching with popcorn, and usually Wendy trying to be nice about it and still intelligent. (Gowlerk too I think and a couple others still trying too, but that usually goes away eventually - it's exhausting) ... 11. The constitution says nothing about parties or how candidates are chosen. The only part of your comment I agree with is the part I highlighted. You disagree with the fact that chooses to vote for the person not the party? You disaagree that he wants to vomit? 14. voters, not posters I'm sad that "non" (no? none? neither?) is so small. They are both so despicable. 15. those BASTARDS - your best bet in this situation, if someone is behind you, would be to pull forward way past the stop line - just park it in the cross walk if you can. Or, even better, stop at least an entire car length BACK from the stop line. (seeing both of these things a LOT more lately). Both bug me, but I think the 2nd one is even more annoying. ... 16. Fanaticism combined with politics sucks - I don't like people telling us what to do "for our own good". We're smart enough to make our own decisions. This is no better than legislating property ownership, what kind of light bulb to buy, or making us pay for other people's stuff. As for 'declarations' vs legislation. Declarations are a freaking waste of time and energy. If it doesn't DO anything, then politicians are wasting our time and money just for publicity. It's the weakest form of pandering. "Hey, I'm not going to do anything, but I want to say I 'feel' something". It's right up there with declaring a month to be 'National (anything) Month'. 22. So what is this? about 25 straight posts of people pissing about how they view an innocuous action vs their definitions of what "guilty" means to themselves just to say 'gotcha' to each other. 1 - reporter budged in through security - security doesn't do their job quickly enough 2 - some guy physically moves her aside (I'm not sure that's the definition of guilty, but he did touch her in a fashion that wouldn't even register during a sale at the mall) 3 - she's an attention hound and, also, media whores in general and the opposing party, want to make some kind of press so they blow it way up - nuisance charges come into play 4 - Rush can't admit he did lay hands on her 5 - everyone else wants to equate the legal term guilty to mean contact and they ignore that charges aren't filed 6 - everyone ignores the other guy's intent because it might look bad or if they do we'd all claim victory and run in circles hugging ourselves. 23. If I did, I've been blanking it out of my mind for many, many years. And I would have never married the woman that I did; I chatted her up at a New Year's Eve party that a very good friend brought her to. 24. It was definitely tongue in cheek. However, on the serious side, who are you to tell me when I can or cannot chat up a woman? After all, it is only between her and I. Jerry Baumchen If she likes you, no problem, if she doesn't, then it's a freaking tragedy of violation of personal space and has to stop. And you are supposed to know ahead of time without asking her or having any other info. didn't you know? (You have to recall, I'm very cynical about the 'correctness'. I don't really mind either way). As for "who am I" in the question, isn't that what this whole thing is about? protecting people that aren't necessarily asking to be protected because the 'in thing' today is to be (socially conscious - or - religiously pure) enough to intrude our personal beliefs via legislation on everyone. But, the whole point is about people being uncomfortable in public spaces, so the comment about "chatting up" (context usually tends to be in terms of aggressive males hitting on women - so very unliberal) is really just trading one set of discomfort (the fundies worried about 'those strange people in the bathrooms of our daughters') with another set of discomfort ("now male predators can chat up the womenfolk in the poopers".) Sorry I used your comment as an example, but it's very applicable. (i.e., discomfort is subjective, that's why these things need to be left to the property owners and not the government). ... 25. Stalls, -real stalls -lockable, with walls and doors that go all the way down and all the way up common washup area, etc is not a problem Though if Jerry is using this to "chat up" the ladies, then that's more of a real harassment issue to address. I know it was more of a tongue in cheek joke, but this is really the type of thing that really needs to be addressed as it's the root of the issue. To be consistent with my politics - seems fine to have this (private stalls, common washup areas, etc) in public buildings - more efficient, better use of the dollars - I don't really care if it makes any social statement one way or the other. Private places - do what you want. your customers will let you know if you are a jerk or not. But - it seems more efficient and accommodating in the long run, a private business would be silly to not consider it. It would be a dumb law to restrict private businesses from structuring their bathrooms any damn way they want. ...
