Not even close. If protecting your head from an impact is what you want, the Protec is the hot tip. If you just want to protect your head from scrapes on the door or ground then any of the skydiving specific helmets are great - but none of them have been tested to prove that they provide any impact protection at all. See one of the many threads that discuss this in Gear and Rigging for details. Oops! I stand corrected.

Why a Pro-Tec? They may be cheap, but they also look so. The helmets from Bonehead are soo much more comfortable, and I surmise promise the same level of protection...

I'm O+, and they stopped calling after I went to Calica, Mexico. Something about Malaria risk...Funny thing is, my job gives me every innoculation known to man, yet they cannot take my blood. Most military people will no longer be able to give blood due to time spent in the Middle East and the UK....the Red Cross is gonna have to hustle to replace all those lost donors...

While the Fab 5 are flamingly over the top in their mannerisms, they do have some good tips on clothing and interior design. Now will I go out and paint my walls teal or Ecru? No. Will I be willing to shop thrift stores and use more color in my living space? Yes. And I also watch that show for the same reason I'll look at a car wreck--you cannot resist but watch...

My AFF primary instructor was CMSgt Bob Holler, the ranking PJ at Robbins AFB. Guy was 5'5" of solid muscle. Could bench-press a Buick...Had more jumps than my silly 2Lt ass had hot meals, or so he told me. Quote of the day after my AFF 1 jump (1999) was "Ah s**t! Another G**d**n Officer!!!"
