I'm with you on that one Jessica. But there is a light at the end of my tunnel. Is it my rig, or is it a train? Lisa (aka skybytch) from SQ1 told me today that it should arrive here in Boulder Colorado sometime on Wednesday. So if all is well and the weather cooperates, I will owe some beer this weekend as I will jump my own rig for the first time. PS: For those who are curious, I ordered the rig back in early August and was delayed a few weeks for a variety of reasons. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

You can take the ? mark off of me as this sounds like a great way to spend during the holidays and also a great way to actually meet many of the DZ.COM community. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

That would be funny if all of the Powerpuff jumper girls ended up in Eloy. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Unless something else happens ... put me on the list of probable attendees. This sounds like a great way to spend my Christmas vacation time. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

At the risk of being slammed for not knowing where Eloy is (even though I have heard many people talk about it). But I'm now thinking it's Skydive Arizona? And if this is the case, then all is well as I was thinking of popping in on Marana and why not check out Eloy while I was in the area. Ok let the slamming begin ... but please remember to be kind. I haven't been in the sport that long and despite trying to get a jump in on September 29th at Pacific Skydivers which outside of Vancouver BC (but I didn't get to jump thanks to the poor weather), I have never jumped at another DZ which is not my home DZ. Of course now that I am licensed. I can start thinking about jumping elsewhere (and I should have my "B" by the time Christmas rolls around). In another thread I had just mentioned that I might head down to Arizona to do a little skydiving over the holidays. But maybe I might be convince to go somewhere else if it's worth it. Is there a boggie going on then? Do you have a URL to pass along? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Amber So what's this FUBAR jump you made? If you really don't want to mention it, that's ok, but curious minds need to know. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Judging from your Powerpuff Girls pic, no I would not say that you are a nice girl. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Nope ... but I'm still kind of new to this sport (I was re-born on July 14th, 2002 and only have 41 jumps to date). So the only Florida based DZs I knew about (and haven't even come close to visiting) are DeLand and Skydive Miami. But I will visit the ZHills website now (assuming they have one). Where is ZHills? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Last year I went skiing on Christmas Day in Vail CO (what a great day). But this year I think a few days to a week of skydiving sounds kind of fun. So since I've yet to visit Arizona (Arizona and Nevada being the only western US states I've yet to set foot in) I like the thought of visiting Marana in the Tucson area. Yup, I did pretty much all of that (and more) ... my have things changed. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Hockey is my religion (as it should be for any good Canadian) ... but I also worship the skydiving gods. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

You'll be fine with the 210 and will actually become a better canopy pilot since you've now shed those lousy poor flaring student canopies for good. I believe you and I are a similar weight and have a similar number of jumps under our belts and I've been flying a 210 for the last five weeks (my wing loading is about 1.1:1 on the 210). I did have some trouble getting a PD210 F-111 to flare nicely this weekend but had no trouble getting the ZP Spectre 210 to flare. In fact I did a video jump yesterday and it was really cool to watch my standup landing. It looks easier on video than it is in real life to get the timing down.
-
Dude You'll have to update the jump numbers on your profile. How are we to know where you stand? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I know Patrick (er I mean Hawkbit) and his wing loading on this PD190 F-111 is about 1:1 so he should be fine (just as long as he's more subtle with his flares ... hint ... hint ... Patrick). Now if I was flying his canopy (I'm at least 30 lbs heavier) that would be a different story. But I've been flying Spectre 210s and PD210s at our DZ loaded at about 1.1:1 and while I crashed and burned a couple of times yesterday on the PD210 but did manage to stand up my landings today on the Spectre. Congrats dude ... how did the rest of your jumps go today? I stood up the landing on my video jump, so that should ease the Whuffo family member's minds when I show them the video next week and break the news to them that I'm skydiving.

Count yourself lucky that your container is on it's way (of course I have no idea as to when you ordered it). Last night I found out that one of my peers who also ordered a Wings container one week after I ordered mine back in early August will be getting his either this weekend or early next week. So here I sit, at least six weeks since I first ordered it (at least five weeks since the check cleared) with no word whatsoever as to when it will be ready. There are two types of motorcyclists in the world: 1) Those who have crashed ... 2) Those who have yet to crash ... I fall into the first category ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Even though I'm just a newbie to the sport (who has yet to jump without a Cypres). I like to compare the use of them to using an air bag in our cars. It's a nice piece of insurance to have if something nasty happens, but the Cypres nor the air bag are not needed in terms of operating the equipment to do the activity and yes being current is extremely important. In other words ... would I drive a car without an air bag? The answer is yes. My '89 Supra doesn't have an air bag while my '99 Wrangler does have one. So would I jump without a Cypres? My preference would be to jump with one (hence my new rig once I finally get it will have one). But the ultimate answer would be yes I would jump without a Cypres. But would I jump without a reserve? Hell no ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

"Whuffos"???Call meNewbie&Green...Def. Pleeze??

It's funny ... everyone has told you what a Whuffo stands for ("What for you jump out of them there airplanes"), but unless I'm not reading everything, nobody explained what a Whuffo is. A "Whuffo" is what skydivers call people who aren't skydivers. Now when does someone shed their Whuffo skin? Well that's a good questions which results in many many different responses. Good response ... I like that one. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Amber It's times like these that you need to remind yourself of the good things you enjoy in life (take for instance skydiving). I know it's easier said than done. But each day that we wake up and face the world, we make the decision to face it with a smile or a frown. It's your choice. What will it be? Now if only my cold would go away, my toe would heel so that I can start jumping again, work would slow down, the economy would pick up, the world would be at peace and the love of my life would introduce herself to me. Then my day would be better as well. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
