I'm happy if I can get 3-6 jumps in per day that I jump (I've yet to have more than six in one day) and if all goes well (ie: the weather and work lets me jump), I hope to jump two or more days a week. But look for me to be a jumping maniac at Eloy come Christmas time. I figure to be there for ten days and should average five jumps per day. Of course this will cost me a cool 1k, but the experience will be worth it. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

This is weird ... Elizabeth's death has effected me more than some of the other people who have recently died skydiving and I never even met her. I guess it's just because I saw a photo of her posted on the Incidents pages and she looked like a nice decent soul. Her death won't effect me in terms of stopping jumping. In fact I can't wait until my next jump. But it saddens me. It sure would be nice to know what happened (probably why I'm effected, not knowing what happened). Blue Skies Elizabeth. Instead of the '&' try the '*' character? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

First off it's been years since I looked at a C program (I am a Java developer) and without seeing the rest of the code, it makes things even more obscure. But it looks like you are missing the '&'. The '&' this tells the compiler is that you are specifying the address of the 'inputarrayx' variable not the contents and it's the address which likely needs to be passed in. I did manage to get four jumps in yesterday at Mile-Hi. But I wish this cloudy weather would take a hike and let the sun come back. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Kewl ... we'll see you at Eloy then. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Don't get me wrong, paying attention to our visible altimeters is extremely important. But recently I have started to notice that my internal clock is starting to work. I have been trying to teach myself how to do free fly sits (with some success and much failure) and I haven't always been watching my altimeters for much of my jumps. But several times yesterday, there I was in free fall working on my sit thinking to myself, hmmm ... I should probably be thinking about getting on my belly and deploying my main right about now, and seconds later my ProTrack (which I have set to sound the first warning at 5k) goes off. Just an observation that's all. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I'm still new to this sport so I've only ever jumped out of three different types of airplanes. But that list should grow by one next weekend if I get to jump. Anyway here's the break down: - 44 jumps in a King Air - 7 jumps in Cessna 206s - 5 jumps in an Otter And if the planets align next weekend, the weather is nice and the whuffo boss doesn't make me work the weekend, I'll be adding a Caravan to that list. Amber I understand you'll be trying to make it to Eloy this Christmas and I do remember a thread a while back which talked of you getting a rig instead but that you didn't think you could do both. So what ever happened with? PS: I hope this question doesn't come off the wrong way. I'm just curious? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

:4:1 - I'm not even going to talk about the first topic (though I did go out on an un-eventful movie date with a Whuffo Friday night). - I got four jumps in today which was not too bad considering my DZ only did seven King Air loads in total and let's not forget that the weather was un-jumpable all day on Saturday and it was also very foggy today until at least 11ish. So four loads for me in six hours is good. - One case of beer that I owe for jumping with snow on the ground for the first time. - And the other thing worth noting is that I fax in my "B" License application today. Hmmm ... do I see the WFFC in my future next summer maybe? Well let's not worry about that yet. But Eloy at Christmas this year will rock. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Skydive The Rockies - November 9-10 & 23-24
CanuckInUSA replied to skycat's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Where can I grab you? Seriously, jumping with you sounds cool (especially if you have a camera). I still have a way to go before I can say that I'm good, but I think I made some real progress today with my sit flying. Several times I found myself in a nice sit position. Now if I can only be more consistent. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

Kelli Did you and Hook jump today at Skydive the Rockies? If so, how was it? Things got off to a slow start today thanks to some fog, but I did manage to get on four of the seven loads at Mile-Hi (plus I got my "B" License application faxed in). So it was a successful day for me. Also, weather and work permiting I am planning on being down in Canon City next weekend and I will try and recruite a friend to come along and jump as well. So hopefully I'll see you guys next week. I'm looking forward to jumping out of a Caravan for the first (oops beer) time. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

I hope to be there next weekend and possibly the weekend of the 23rd/24th as well. Assuming there is jumping in the state tomorrow, I'm torn as to where to go. Mile-Hi is the closest to where I live, though it's questionable as to how much jumping a fun jumper can actually do there where the tandem factory is not in production. Brush may be the logical choice mainly because it's a closer drive than Canon City or Calhan. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
LOL ... 21 hours and 24 minutes between the last post yesterday and my bump today. What's up people? Are you forgetting about the Party of the Year? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Moody Don't fret, you're time will come when you meet the right fella (oops I meant skydiver). You're still young. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

It's funny you're showing the passion of flying that I once had (before I became a skydiver). A couple of years ago I was spending a fair amount of time on the home based flight simulator and the girlfriend at the time encouraged me to go for a discovery flight. Well the next thing you know, I was enrolled in some real world flight lessons and a few months later (and thousands of dollars spent on lessons, flight time and flight gear), I was a licensed pilot. Could the same thing happen to you (only in reverse)? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I sure hope to continue jumping during the winter months (I want to see if I can get more than 200 jumps in before Sept 2003). But there will be days when jumping isn't an option and on those days I will be doing: - Hockey (both playing in an adult rec league as well as watching NHL games live and on TV). What can I say, I'm Canadian and hockey is my religion. - Skiing - Maybe a weekend mountaineering trip (maybe even some ice climbing). - Indoor co-ed beech volleyball. - And how could I forget just being the occasional couch potato. Oh that's going to open the can of worms. But I do jump with a Cypres. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Yah but you guys should know better. The snow is here now, but it'll melt away in a few days. Besides, I can't jump on week days anyway. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

You're not addicted, you're just a Poo-Bah!!! On another note: Hello, my name is Steve and I'm a DropZoneoholic. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

You were able to jump on Sunday? Oh man ... It was overcast all day on the front range and I didn't get to jump. Had I know Canyon City was clear I would have drove down there. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Kelli I'm not sure who else would be willing to travel around the state to get some jumps in (I may be able to convince one or two of my peers now that they are licensed to come with me). But with the weather turning cool and the tandems slowing down at Mile-Hi I have to wonder if I'll be standing around for hours waiting for a load to fill up in Longmont. So with that in mind, I am up for doing a little travelling in November (assuming the whuffo boss doesn't expect me to work weekends) to make sure that I can get some jumps in (of course clear skies would help). I am still planning on visiting Brush on one weekend in November and I will try and visit Canyon City on at least one of the two weekends you speak of. Camping out might not be a bad idea to try (if I can camp out in Colorado in late November then camping in Eloy over the holidays will be a piece of cake). Now where's that down jacket and thermal underwear of mine? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
