Is there a place to sleep, or should I be bringing my winter camping gear? (assuming of course I decide to make the trek down to Canyon City) Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

So what's considered high altitude in Eloy? I routinely jump from 17500' MSL here in Colorado and I believe Eloy is under 1500' MSL. So any extra free fall sounds good to me.

Ok ... let's see what direction this thread can take now. How many days are some of you guys/girls thinking of being at Eloy? If things work out for with the Whuffo boss the way I hope they do, I will be travelling to Eloy on the Dec 21st. Jumping from Dec 22nd through to Dec 31st and then as long as I'm somewhat civilized on New Years, travelling back to Colorado on January 1st. That's ten days of skydiving for this camper. Also how many jumps do you think you guys/girls will be able to do in one day? I'm not the fastest packer, but I should be able to do 5-7 per day. So If I'm jumping at Eloy 5 times a day for 10 days. Wha-hoo!!! That's 1/4 of the jumps I need for my "D" License. Of course it's also close to $1000 that I'll be spending on jump tickets. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

"Good Morning" right back at ya, except that instead of waking up and looking for a cup of joe, I need to be thinking of going to bed. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I think of my Cypres as something which will be used if/when I am physically unable to activate my main or my reserve (ie: being knocked out). I've yet to find myself in this predicament, but if I'm at or near the hard deck with nothing above my head, I'm going for my reserve. My main (a Triathlon) is a sniveller and I won't have time being on the hard deck at 1500'. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Don't beat yourself up too much worrying about being totally stable on your exits. First off, unless you're doing a RW jump that needs to be stable at the very earliest moments in the dive, it's ok to be a little unstable as long as you have altitude on your side. One of the reasons you (with your instructor's guidance) will be doing back flips on your upcoming training jumps is for you to purposely become unstable so that you learn how to recover. And believe me, the more you jump, the easier it will be to exit the aircraft and become stable at virtually anytime in the dive. Good luck in your training and I hope you're having fun with the sport. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Woo-hoo!!! I just sold my last christmas time Colorado Avs tickets (hey what can I say, I still have some old whuffo lifestyle issues such as being an Avs season ticket holder that I haven't cutaway yet). Anyway, now that my four christmas time Avs games have been sold, I can concentrate on getting my rear end down to Eloy for the Christmas boogie. The real sweet part of all of this is that if I can muster up six vacation days from the whuffo boss, then I'll be able to jump in Eloy from Dec 22nd through Dec 31st (with the Dec 21st and Jan 1st being my travel days). 0:0:0 Batted zero for the weekend in that all important category. But I would like to note that I had a blast at a Halloween Party on Saturday night dancing up a storm with some hotties (but they were all whuffos). No jumps this weekend thanks to a volleyball tournament on Saturday and crappy weather on Sunday. No jumps = no skydiving firsts = no cases of beer to be bought. Yes I would agree that Hook's canopy is a pretty distinctive sound. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

That's a good one alright. This one's not as good, but nevertheless: "Today Air Miami is going to whip you ass bitch" Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Volleyball is cool (especially when the women play), but the other sports are fringe Hollywood ****. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

As stated in another thread, my '99 Jeep Wrangler currently has a "Skydive!" sticker on the top middle section of the rear window and I am planning on adding a big way freefly sticker (with dudes doing a head down) on the bottom left portion of the rear window and a swooper sticker (some dude swooping his canopy) on the bottom right portion of the same window. I think it's going to look cool once I get the new stickers. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

What kind of car/truck should a sky diver drive?
CanuckInUSA replied to AirTime's topic in The Bonfire
Historically I've always avoided putting bumper stickers on my vehicles. But now that I am a skydiver, I am going to outfit my '99 Jeep Wrangler with a few hopefully tasteful skydiving related stickers. I already have one on it which simply says "Skydive!" but I just put an order in for a freefly big way sticker as well as a swooper sticker. It should be cool once I get them and if I drive to Eloy at Christmas, y'all will see it then. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
Hmmm ... I can't jump on Saturday (thanks to a damm volleyball tournament), but maybe I can make it down on Sunday to jump a Caravan for the first (oops beer) time. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Does Dove do jello shots? If she does, then I'd say she'd be worth meeting. Heck who am I kidding, she'd be worth meeting even if she didn't do shooters. Cause Dove just wants to have fun ... oh Dove just wants to have fun ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

You should be ... I'm no skygod (at least not yet) but I am very good at many things (and we'll let you guess what those are). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Darn ... then I guess I'm out of the picture. Phhtttpppp!!! Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

We will miss you if you can't make it. But getting your "A" should be your #1 priority and then getting some gear shoud be a close 2nd. However, you've also stated that getting away would do your soul wonders and for me, meeting some of my "DZ.COMers" is a huge factor in having myself wanting to visit Eloy for this Christmas boogie. So is there a way to concentrate on trying to get your "A" (how far off are you?), coming to Eloy (even if it's just for a few days) and living cheaply and maybe getting some jumps in? (even if they are training jumps). I don't know, it's a tough predictament. Better you than me? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

But he was a whuffo right and that's why you cut him away? Or was he just a *******? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Keep at it Michelle. There will be days when you can do no wrong and then days were you seem to take a step or two backward (like on no wind days, in which can you're actually needing to run out your landings). But as long as you are being safe and having fun. That's what count doesn't it? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Earlier this week I took a girl who happens to be ten years younger than myself to an Avs NHL hockey game and age really didn't factor into the evening very much because: 1) I look and act a lot younger than I really am. 2) This girl is in her late 20s and it's not like she's never been around the block. 3) I hate to say it, but I'm more attracted to the women in their late 20s and early 30s than someone who is either my age or older. But I will date someone who is older if they convey the right youthful attitude which is compatible with mine. Now I did have a good time with this girl, but she is a whuffo. Yes that would be our own Hooknswoop (aka Derek). The sound his canopy makes as he comes in and flares is pretty distinctive (it's hard to describe unless you've heard it). He is very skilled (3000+ jumps), but all I can say is be safe Derek. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
