Black does not reflect any of the visible light. white on the other hand refects all the visible light color spectrum. UV light is reflected and absorbed virtually equally by all colors. Talking about UV light and colors does not make any sense because visible light and UV have very different frequencies and wavelenghts. For instance, the reason why you need a back light bulb to see floreshent colors is because the bulb will not refect the visible light but only the UV. A white bulb just refects everything. UV light is essential for seeing florescent glows. Anyhow, UV light effects all canopies equally (but florescent ones that are effected to a larger extent). A black canopy will get more damaged by the heat produced by the visible light than a white one. Memento Audere Semper 903

I have an ACE (Consolidated Rigging sewn by PD) that has an upper composite skin. A bit less than the center to front top skin is Z-po and the rest F-111. IMO it packs just as well as all F-111. I wonder why reserves are not built that way. Memento Audere Semper 903

I love black and purple. Purple has always fascinated me ever since I was a kid. Don't know why consciously. By themselves though back and purple are a bit too dark hence the silver. I also think the BM new sliver looks trick! I wanted to sleep with the suit on but my wife did not like the idea. Go figure. Once I get to jump it I will GPS few jumps and post the results. I've now put enough jumps to write a decent review. I custom-ordered my EXT to fit my Tempo 150 and Viper 105. The quality and attention to details is outstanding. Nicely sewn and put together. Packing the Tempo for the first time was a pain. We then repacked it once after four months and it went in no-problem. We also had to shorten the loop by 1". Same deal for the main. It got better after about 50 jumps. Now it packs a bit tight but sweat-less nonetheless. I got the cut-in laterals and the harness fits just perfectly. It's tight, comfortable, allows to move around, and the container does not lift at all. I got full SS with the newer PDF leg-strap buckles that do stay in place. Also they way the articulated ring is designed assures proper flexibility without the need of chest rings. Nicely done indeed. Mine has the FF handle and the cordura pouch. The latter is highly recommended. My FF handle got replaced with one of the newer ones for free but I am not still fully convinced. I like the feel, security, and looks but it is still a bit hard to tuck it in. I’ll wait until the container fully softens up and then I’ll see to replace it with a hackey. I think this is a superior and also cheaper alternative to the Javelin. It also makes a good companion to my S3 :) In the future if I will need another container it is going to be a Wings, no question about it. By the way Sunrise customer service is top notch and the wait time minimal.

Those are very interesting points. They are behavioral and molecular theories on "thrill seekers" all for the most part wrong IMHO. One day I would like to research about it both at the molecular and behavioral level. It's a very complex question or set of questions. I don't think it is just a matter of having a high threshold for excitement or an addictive personality; those are just easy popular explanations. I am also very scared of the fact that one day I will take excessive risk when BASE to get the high. To me though it is not just about the raw and primary feeling. It is about learning in the form I like best. I see it in skydiving. I don’t get the intense feeling anymore but my awareness gets better and better every jump and there are so many things to improve and learn upon. But I don’t take stupid risks, well that is in the eye of the beholder! I see people with thousands and thousands of jumps who are very cautious and safe but still enjoy the jump. I want my BASE to be the same. I think it really comes down to how much you know. The more you know, the more risks you see, the more you try to minimize them. Does it mean, hypothetically, that if you knew it all you won’t do it? Well that defines human nature but I believe that if you did know it all there would be no point in living. That is also one other reason I don’t believe in a god but that’s a different subject. One thing to keep in mind is that it is hard to introspect and come out with some rational explanations.
