I was stuck with no wrapping paper at work today and made my own and it turned out really cool and I thought I'd share it. What I needed. 36 fotos on my PC Microsoft Office Picture Manager (MOPM) MS Word Color printer Copy the 36 fotos in a new folder, Open a foto with MOPM Click the thumbnail view in the lower upper lefthand corner. When you see the thumbs, select all (Ctrl+A), Click "Edit Pictures" Click "Compress" Click "Email pictures" Click "OK" Close the MOPM, Then save when it asks, reopen and select all and copy, Past in a MS Word Doc that you have moved the Margins to the outside. Print enough to wrap on a color printer. Wrap it up! Have fun and MC & HNY, Space and Taupo PS, This was one of our trips to the Island (GB) photo montages.

Computational Fluid Dynamics happens to be one of the most difficult fields in the world to get results consistent with observed reality and even today there are a lot of empirical methods used. Maybe you are not saying that you could predict the exact nature of the turbulent airflow around a building?? I'm thinking that anyone who has ever thrown a few wind drift indicators from a building might find your statement hard to understand/believe. @980 Wwarped posted that “turbulence is unpredictable”. Whenever wind is blowing around or over a solid object there is turbulence. “Turbulent airflow” is not what he was addressing according to his post. Only “turbulence”. Of course I can predict the exact nature of the turbulent airflow around a building. I am getting really good on cliffs too. Round building, square ? In either one of the scenarios there are no downwind sides to a solid object, the rotor blows back into it.. The best option is the crosswind on the downwind side. Turbs have this effect on lets say a square building’s 4 sides. a. Main headwind, b. Crosswind from the left, c. Crosswind from the right, d. Turbs creating a headwind on the downwind side (rotor) “I'm thinking that anyone who has ever thrown a few wind drift indicators from a building might find your statement hard to understand/believe” I am thinking the opposite. If the WDI blows into the building it is exactly because one is on the main headwind side or the downwind side (Turbs). I hope this helps. @ wwarped “anyone watching the phenomena I mentioned can predict when and where turbulence may occur. (many books can help.) predicting how such turbulence will affect a canopy is not so simple...” “phenomena”? Does that not mean without obvious cause? Sorry to be hard on you but turbs as a result of windflow around an object aint no phenomena. “predicting how such turbulence will affect a canopy is not so simple...” Opening is dependent on the airflow and the way it takes one’s PC out of perpendicularity (assuming it has symmetricalality) from one’s shoulders alignment to present the packjob to the airflow. The landing downwind of a turbulence creating object is this formula: 2 times horizontal of the vert. (Tom A., Calvin19?) But then I must ask why does one wish to jump in turbulent conditions? I have better things to do on turbulent days. But that’s just me. Take care, space

I wouldn't have thought that people still do that (no slider bumpers) but in retrospect, car battery packing weights, packing PCs with pullup cords...... Although I agree that direct sunlight damages the nylon (as does fluorescent lighting), It is not as catastrophic as not rinsing out salt water. I've also seen damged slder grommets that shaved off the stitching on the cascades. take care, space

I think that this is a common misconception (starting to fly earlier is bad). The earlier a canopy starts to fly, these things happen earlier. (which is good). The sinkrate goes to the minimum. The manuverabilty increases to the maximum. The fwd speed is less (assuming you have dialed in your DBS). IMHO, The canopy that can fly the slowest with the lowest sinkrate wins. The Troll that I jumped could fly very slow. Hope this helps. take care, space

I just can't seem to convey what I had an issue with in your post. Even though I quoted exactly the part of the post I had issues with. Am I so stupid that to think that if I quote your post you have no clue on what I am posting about and its my fault your not following me? Do you need a sign like this? ""It's not targeting the homeless, it's targeting anyone who behaves in this way."" Shall I write it in capital letters? Which part of this phrase do you not understand? Once again, I will repeat the phrase that I haver issues with. "It's not targeting the homeless, it's targeting anyone who behaves in this way." If you don't understand this post then, I wish you a good day. I can't be anymore clear. take care, space

I hope this refreshes your memory. I am not a chest thumper. You asked for an opinion and I gave you one. If there are parts of your post that you don't want to discuss then don't post that part. I take issue with the above quote from your post. Take care, space

Not at you wwarped. I think this is an overdelay situation from the few observations posted. It may had not much to do with the site. That being said, I am against the practice of bringing beginners off of solid objects. Though I did back in the day. I only ask that we don't lose sight of what happened because we don't want beginners on advance sites. If he had an object strike because of insufficient tracking, Then let it be known. If he had an impact because of an overdelay, let it be known. One has to do with skill, the other, brainlock. Ya gotta keepem seperated. take care, space

"It's not targeting the homeless, it's targeting anyone who behaves in this way." Stop denying what was printed in your link. I used the begging as an example. "The law was aimed at party goers and thugs " So where the hell do the "Homeless" get involved in this discussion? Via your post maybe? take care, space

Is Your Hand Deploy Pilot Chute Correctly Made?
base283 replied to billbooth's topic in Gear and Rigging
Here is an intereting MSExcel file about PC construction. A Block reinforced pc will have significantly less drag (appx 30%) than a Bias reinforced pc. built in the same dimensions. I made some measurements with Bias versus Block elongations. This is a page from the file as the other page composed by BASE689 is too big to add as an attachment but has PC drag calculations which I could send you on request. As a BASE jumper (as well as a skydiver) these things are quite pertinent to a successful deployment. take care, space -

@ Richard "It's not targeting the homeless, it's targeting anyone who behaves in this way." "I am not homeless, I only behave that way HA!" So if one behaves in this way it's ok to penalize them with a fine which they wouldn't have the money for in the first place. Is that not the shit to fine beggars for begging and they have to beg more to pay the fine? Wow! A vicious circle creating a problem that did not exist for profit if one assumes that these "homeless" have an income that would afford such a luxury as extra money. I really hope that you are sensitive enough to hang out with the homeless for a bit and then post about this again. I actually dare you. Are you sooooo set up in your preppie pastels? take care, spacehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzO1mCAVyMw

I disagree. The bike hit around 125ft below the exit point. The 265ft That SJ titled was misleading. The ledge was at 110ft. The LZ at 265 below the exit point. Take another look at the video at the 37th second. Take care, space

I think that it may be possible with experts for all positions in all positions and with ITW. But the guys (Gods) that are needed are not for it. For a great reason. It is one of the sweetest/politcally delicate cliffs in Yurp. IIRC only 6 fatalities and there were 30+ rescues. I was there with members of the ITA to confront the prohibition of jumping there after the first fatality. It is legal again to jump there now because of the work that we did. The way to go about this is to speak with the "locals" that are most experienced with the wall. I live 4hrs away as do another 150 jumpers (8hrs) and have around 60 jumps from this site and feel not comfortable with this idea. Think. take care, space
