  1. Like JP said. By the way a Vortex container is no problem,it is also sold in Belgium. Bring your logbook and proof that you have a "skydive"insurance. Gr Jurgen
  2. Are you an australian citizen? If yes, you are not insured by the USPA if you skydive outside the USA. Jurgen
  3. Can you fill in your profile? I don't like anonymous postings. Gr Jurgen
  4. Cheap plastic ones tend to break when you need them. Zwartberg, Belgium: 2001: hookknife (cheap plastic) breaks when jumper has through cut one riser. PS When you buy a metal one, check regularly that the screws holding the blade, are still "there". Jurgen
  5. I have a neptune and had to send it back because it got wet , got another one
  6. Where do I say that you have to land on your rears? I only explain how to free your thumb, finger, ... (learned by experience )
  7. or try some dutch DZ like Texel.
  8. I have only a few jumps with a wingsuit. I use the parachute of my girlfriend (silhouette 170) during these jumps. Normally I jump a velo 90 (WL 2,2), but I prefer something different for these kind of jumps for several reasons. Jurgen
  9. You will find all that and much more in Empuria brava. Very international and busy DZ, you will hear English, French, Dutch, Spanish (of course , Catalan, ...
  10. Let's assume it was your left thumb. 1. Watch for other traffic. 2. Put the righthand toggle in your mouth to keep flying straight. 3. Pull down the lefthand toggle and grab with your right hand all the lines just above the left rearriser. 4. Now there is no more tension on your left toggle and you can free your thumb (finger) now. Jurgen
  11. Yes, the Omega is from Performance Variable now Firebird http://www.flyfirebird.com/ There is a long story about the Omega and line entaglements on deployment. Franco I am not sure, but did performance variable already exist in 1988? I believe that we are talking about an other rig in this case. Gr Jurgen
  12. Minimax: parachute de france?
  13. Had the same problems in the beginning. Your risers are stiff, make them more "flexible". Jurgen
  14. Just visit Zwartberg, Genk. Jurgen
  15. Ask if you can make some jumps with it. A reline is ok. A larger slider? The standard slider is already quite large. Just testjump it. Jurgen
  16. Vengeance 120, WL 1,65, 1500 jumps I liked the canopy and the openings. Do not pack it to neatly. If you pack for a slow opening, the canopy has time to open off heading. Personally I think that the vengeance don't like light (1,1) or heavy (+1,8) WL. Jurgen
  17. this is the correct answer. You have one set of alarms in freefall and one set of alarms under an open canopy.
  18. Or why Airtech waited to produce the Cypres 2 till another AAD was on the market?
  19. http://www.l-and-b.dk/pdf/english_protrack.pdf, see pg 15. Your reasoning about speed is wrong. My english is not good enough to explain this, but just read the remarks in this thread about the "spikes". If you put the audible in your helmet and you turn your head, you disturb the airflow around your head and you will get those inaccurate "speedreadings" because the air pressure changes (whatever device you use). And the only thing those devices measure = air pressure. Maybe it is not in the manual of your neptune, because nobody uses a neptune to measure his max speed during a speeddive. Jurgen
  20. When I was in Eloy in 2000, a local jumper (freefly instructor) had a canopy with 6000 jumps. I mean the canopy had 6000 jumps. Jurgen
