  1. No logbookfunction (or I haven't found it yet ). Jurgen
  2. Years ago, I have put my slider under my chin once and I did not liked the idea, because it can cover your face at the wrong moment. A few months later, a german jumper was killed in Eloy when this happened during the landing. Jurgen
  3. Always, I repeat, always ask first (do not forget the pilot) if you are allowed to do a hop and pop at that altitude (other air traffic ...). Jurgen
  4. Time to reline? Jurgen
  5. Isn't it possible to change the volume? Jurgen
  6. I don't hear my neptune when I use it as an altimeter, not in freefall and not under canopy. So you need two devices (neptune/wave or viso/optima or ...) if you want and the beeps and the altimeter.
  7. I have read nothing that says that the AAD (vigil) has fired. So if the AAD has not fired, how can your design cutaway the main and change the outcome of this tragic accident? Jurgen
  8. CREEPS from SCARETEC? Mmm 1 April?
  9. Euh, maybe the screws in your camera?
  10. Why is this opening a BIG can of worms? J
  11. Euh, I'm sorry? So only skydivers with low jump numbers have been saved by their AAD? Jurgen
  12. I do not understand the problem. Do your AFF in the States or in Europe. Is it necessary that your instructors are BPA rated? I have problems to believe this. If you do your AFF course in Spain, Belgium, USA ... , you do not need a license. As long as you have passed with success your level 7 and your logbook is signed. Maybe they ask you to do a consolidation jump. Prices in Europe are cheaper than in the UK (Belgium 1050 €, Empuria ...).
  13. Jumprun against the wind (wind comes from the sea): tandems last, jumprun with the wind (wind towards the sea): tandems first. They follow kallends logic. Jurgen
  14. No mistakes ......... this time Jurgen
  15. Like you said: are supposed to ... Jurgen
  16. You were right not to yell at her in the air in this situation (only yell when you have to in order to prevent a collision). Talk to her after the landing (or ask an instructor to do the talking). Jurgen
  17. Euhm JohnRich, isn't there something wrong in your reasoning? Are you sure that there is no single skydiver with a lower D-license number than you w/o any round-jumps? Jurgen
  18. So each time you take your car, you accept that you will die or get hurt? So you can not complain that you have lost your legs after some traffic accident, because you choose to drive and you choose the risk to loose your legs? Or that some bank robber shot your mother because she choose to go to that specific bank that specific day, so it was really her choice to get shot? I have seen some crazy reasoning on this site. She needs to pay some bills, with or without insurance she has to pay them. If you were in her case, and I really don't believe she took the decision to wreck her body, I am really interested what you would do? I understand that she takes the responsibility of the accident on her, without blaming somebody. It's her choice to ask money, it's your choice to pay or not. Jump more, talk less and be lucky that it wasn't you who was hurt. Jurgen
  19. This is true for NiCad and NiMH batt, not for Li-ion bat. The Li-ion Batt don't have the memory effect (at least that's what the manufacturer says) and it's better to recharge them before you drain them completely.
  20. Do you swing forward because you lean forward or do you lean forward because you swing forward? That's the question, hmm was it Shakespeare who said that Jump, do some swooping with and without the leaning forward at the end of your swoop and tell us your findings. I personally have the perception that when I lean forward at the end of my swoop, I keep my body straight (vertical) under the canopy. If I don't do this, my feet will be at an angle before me and I prefer to land on my feet. So I lean forward because I swing .
  21. Next time use the chest strap to secure the reserve handle. Jurgen
