Same here. But I had an idea: What if you would have your rigger make a loop(~15cm long) out #4 webbing(? the stuff that non kill-line bridles are made). Then you could larkshead the loop on the kill-line and the security line, and then larkshead the other end of the loop on the canopy? Any riggers' opinions on this kind of mod?

So the Electra has been flying nice then?

>What do you mean a "bit creative to grab them"? There's a script in the gallery that's supposed to stop you from saving the pics to disk. For a long time I didn't even know there was one; the script doesn't work with my browser...

4671 NEW I take a few days off and that's what the forum main page tells me.... I'm going to have a tough week at work next week...

>The v-8 is very large. The Parachute is not large. Ok, Paragear catalog #65(00-01) says Vector V8 holds a main from 460 to 580 cubic inches. The same catalog says the Tri190 pack volume(given by Aerodyne) is 396 cu.in. The canopy volume list here has one entry for a 190 Triathlon, the pack volume is given as 509 cu.in...

Without seeing the rig it's hard to say but: I've jumped a Vector2 V5 with a Maverick(200sqft) packed in it. That was a nice fit. After the Maverick came to the end of its road, I got a Fury(220sqft) for the rig. That's a very tight but doable packjob. I'd say the Tri is way too small for your container, but as usual, your local riggers will know best, since they can see the rig... Note that the Maverick and the Fury are made of F111(easier to pack), but the Triathlon is a ZP canopy. The split bag should be easy to fix: Have your rigger sew the velcro permanently closed. That's what was done on the student Vectors on my DZ.

I have jumped a TurboZX 145 for a couple of hundred jumps, and I also have a couple dozen jumps on a Spectre 150, so here's my take on the comparison: Spectre -Zero-porosity -7 cells -slightly elliptical -handles well with a wide range of wingloadings -more difficult to pack than the TZX(but don't make your decision on this...) Turbo ZX -Hybrid(dual-fabric: top skin ZP, bottom skin 0-3cfm fabric) -9 cells -rectangular with cut rear corners -lands like a rock -easy to pack because of the hybrid construction I recommend the Spectre. I only jump the TZX because I got it so cheap.

>Why are you a rigger? Or studying to be one? Beats me. I've been packing reserves for three days straigth now, and I feel like I've been thoroughly beaten up with a very large stick.

So what kind of jump was that?

The PdF Electra is a hybrid (dual-fabric) canopy: From the PdF website: Translated by babelfish:

I have heard it mentioned in the tales of the Elders.

Distance traveled horizontally w/ wings
ernokaikkonen replied to MikeSoll's topic in Wing Suit Flying
>besides the fact that said jumper wouldnt be going terminal >because hes in a wingsuit Actually terminal velocity is defined as the speed where the pull of gravity and the air resistance are at equilibrium, ie. the jumper wont accelerate or decelerate until he changes his body position. -bellyflying terminal velocity would be somewhere around 190km/h, -freeflying @ 250km/h or even more, and -wingsuit terminal at ~80km/h(but that will vary a lot due to factors like the weight/surface ratio of the jumper, and his skill in flying the suit) My physics might be a bit rusty, feel free to correct any mistakes... -
>ANOTHER OPERA FAN Yup. I'm seriously disappointed at the 7.01 "final" though. I installed it and used it for less than a day. All the bugs I've found in it have been reported at the OperaSoftware forums many times, but they don't seem to listen to the complaints of the users. Bummer.

Here's mine at work. Only the necessary stuff, and some that I can't remove cause they were put there by an administrator.

Probably just too much traffic on the site. I think the server only allows 5(?) connections at a time.

>Are they PDF or will PDF risers be OK on my Jav for awhile? Quite likely yes, but please check with a local rigger who can actually take a look at the risers and rigs in question.

Quoted text different colour

>Accourding to Usenet protocol I could have done > >>It's very irritating when people don't use the quote feature correctly > >And been acceptible too I do that all the time if there isn't a lot of text to quote. Id there's more text to quote, I tend to use the tags. Alex: If people don't use the and tags correctly, the script has no way of knowing which text is quoted and which is the poster's own reply! Different colours wont help if the colours are in the wrong place... -
Pretty harsh on everyone who's jumping Parachutes de France-gear... Squeak: One thing comes to mind about swapping the risers; the risers' length. Make sure the risers are more or less the same length. Too short risers will bring the slinks/rapide links on the sides of the reserve, and that just doesn't feel right... Like always, have a local rigger look at your rigs.

Why not use E-thread?

No pic of the action itself, but this was taken some time after.... picture I stalled my parachute on landing, at approx. 3m off the ground. I fell flat on my back, unfortunately on the asphalt taxiway. A few stiches in my elbow, and my leg was stiff for a few weeks, but miraculously nothing broken. Lesson learned: Try out the stall point when jumping a new canopy. Prefererrably little higher than I did...
