I cant tell you how to sell your stuff cause I never have but at my DZ if you have your own gear and your purchasing a new container , main etc what ever, our DZO doesnt charge you a rental fee. So try that , see if your DZ will wave the rental fee while you wait for your new canopy. He/ she might even let you swop over a canopy to your rig when you jump. thats what ours does anyways. IF that works sell the rig and get the $$$. Either way good luck and hope everything goes smooooth for ya jason

Dont get me wrong.. I'm not apposed of jumping out at 1000-2000ft in an emergency situation. But for me with how my chute opens and my bungee set up I would most likely go for the reserve! Especailly with only 46 jumps and lowest opening being 2700ft, 1000-2000ft would probably scare the shit outa me alone with out having to worry about if my main was going to inflate on time! jason

Careful there Mike or you could end up like this kid: ____________________________ Justices Rule on Lewdness In Public Wednesday, September 26, 2001 BY ELIZABETH NEFF THE SALT LAKE TRIBUNE The state's highest court warned Utahns on Tuesday against lewdly handling private parts in public places, ruling a teen-age boy ran afoul of the law when he grabbed his crotch in a Vernal convenience store parking lot. The boy, a 15-year-old identified in court documents by the initials "A.T.," looked at a woman in a nearby parked car, grabbed his crotch and shook it up and down in September 1998. When the woman responded by rolling up her car window, A.T. laughed, faced the woman and repeated the gesture. A Vernal police officer who happened to witness the incident arrested the boy for lewd behavior. Tuesday's Supreme Court decision reverses the Utah Court of Appeals, which had held A.T.'s conduct was not sufficiently lewd to be unlawful. "A.T. should have known his behavior would likely cause affront or alarm to the woman in the parking lot," wrote Justice Michael Wilkins for the court. "He achieved the result of offending the victim by conveying the appearance of masturbation. It is precisely this type of conduct that the legislature intended to prohibit in enacting the statute." State law prohibits an act of sexual intercourse, exposure of genitals, public masturbation, voyeurism or "any other act of lewdness" in the presence of someone who would be alarmed by viewing the conduct. Associate Chief Justice Leonard Russon disagreed with the majority's decision, arguing the case should have been sent back to the trial court for a ruling on whether A.T.'s actions constituted public masturbation. Although 8th District Juvenile Court Judge Larry Steele did not specifically rule A.T. had masturbated in public, he found the boy's actions constituted an "other act of lewdness." Assistant Attorney General Karen Stewart Klucznik said the state was pleased with the high court's decision. "It appropriately safeguards people from this type of intentionally threatening behavior," she said. A.T.'s attorney, Alan Williams, was not available for comment Tuesday. The Court of Appeals judges had noted the boy's actions could be considered "expressive symbolic speech," and if so, could raise a question as to the statute's constitutionality under the First Amendment. The Supreme Court justices did not address the issue in Tuesday's opinion, because it was not raised in the second appeal. Several public figures have gone below the belt in public. Roseanne Barr grabbed her crotch after singing the National Anthem at a 1990 San Diego Padres baseball game. The move has been a regular part of Madonna's stage act. And Michael Jackson popularized the move in the 1980s in his music videos. While Barr's grab in particular angered some observers, none of the entertainers has faced a lewdness charge. Mark Thomas, the deputy Uintah County attorney who prosecuted the teen, pointed to a distinction between a performer's crotch grab and the incident in question: Performers have large audiences who can anticipate the kinds of things they will do. "That's quite different than when you pull into a local convenience store and have someone specifically target you with a lewd act," he said. "There are limits on expression . . . that crosses the line." ____________________________________ DOH!!!! jason (I would have to live in this state)

I havnet had a pringle problem but I did lose control on about jump 42. Floated on a 4way really bad. Brought everything in close to drop down to them and in the process tighten up and started spinning like beeeatch!!! little bit scary but just relaxed and came out of it. IT sucs when everyone keeps saying just relax, but thats what works. Kinda ironic that relaxing is the key to jumping outa a perfectly good airplane jason
-
Alot of DZ's here specificly state "must be 18 yrs of age NO EXCEPTIONS" so even with a letter form the parental units it probably wont float. But hey it cant hurt to try , the worst they'll do is say no. jason (all I wanted was just one pepsi...and she wouldnt give it to me!!!!)

Personally I like my moving bus idea but who am I to say!! jason

I agree with you in the sence that I think if you get a guardian signature I dont see a problem letting 16 yr olds jump. The problem is , is that someone is still responcible for you if something were to happen, and it all has to do with liability, insurance, and I'm sure other things. I'm just guessing here so if someone knows more please inform. But hey at least you get to jump even if it is 3 hrs away. As far as Sue happy people, I think a small percent of sueings in anything can hold water but I think most is just a way to get some money. And skydivers who sue because they fucked up and blame it out of lack of training need to go run infront of a moving bus so they have something to bitch about!!! Come on people we'er all adults here...well most.... You should know if your getting adiquit (spelling?) training. If you not sure call other places and compare and ask LOTS of questions. Just my worthless .02 jason

I second that "are you nuts?". I have a bungy kill set up for my pc so at 1100ft I 'm going for the reserve!!! But hey you walked away so who am I to say. ( man that ryhmed)

Does this mean us ???? (please please) form AOPA site: Wednesday, September 19, 2001 8:20:58 PM — While conducting a Pilot Town Meeting in Columbus, Ohio, AOPA President Phil Boyer was called by his staff, advising him that a notam had just been released by the FAA authorizing the limited return of Part 91 VFR flights. "This is an crucial step in restoring the nation's important general aviation system. Rest assured the effort isn't finished," said Boyer. VFR is now permitted for U.S. registered aircraft outside of "enhanced" Class B airspace; that is, Class B airspace within the lateral limits from the surface to infinity. No VFR flights are permitted over the top of Class B airspace, nor are VFR operations permitted from airports and airspace "under the shelf" of Class B airspace. In addition, several Temporary Flight Restrictions remain in effect. Under the FAA notam, VFR flight training operations are prohibited. However, AOPA has been advised by the FAA that this will be discussed at a meeting with the White House on Thursday morning. In addition, restrictions continue to apply to banner towing, traffic watch/reporting, airship/blimps, and news reporting ------------------------------------------ jason

Damn it!!!! what a waste of 12 years in school and all this time my whole (hole) edumacation was in my parents dresser!!! Too funny SIS (or is it TO, or maybe TWO) jason

Dude..first off I can feel your frustration with the whole situation, we are all frustrated but thats a lot of speculation you got going here. I dont think there going to just pick on skydivers, if there'er going to break out the "microscope "it will be over everyone in the smaller private plane companies. Price hikes on the jump tickets..well thats a very good possibility but a business is a business and has to do what it can to stay alive. As for new license and back ground checks I highly doubt that would ever happen unless your jumping for the FBI or CIA.(cough spectra cough) I dont know man I'm just guessing like you but man you seem pretty paroniod. Thats cool though we all need a little paranoiya in our lives. jason

Oh my god . my wife, another couple we're friends with and my budy I jump with went on a little road trip sunday and on the way back the seal on my door sounded like it wasnt seated and this is no shit.. it was like instinct....all the sudden I YELL DOOOOOR!!!! and open the door going down the highway and then slam it shut. 3000 for a rig? sure..but it depends on what you want. For me I bought a new cantainer, new reserve and Used main. My reason.. I got a a very good deal on everything and plus for ME, I madde sure the cantainer I got is freefly friendly so I can learn both disiplines with it and as long as I take good care of her she should/could last me the rest of my life. Where as for the main I know I will eventually downsize so for now until I find a main to keep I will buy used ( unless a killer deal came across. Now on the other hand when chossing a container I've been told by other jumpers that if I you (in a general term) want to keep the container to make sure you can downsize in it to smaller canopies when your ready. That would suc to buy a new rig that can only hold say no smaller than a 170 and you want to go to a 150 or smaller. now you gotta buy another container. My container right now hold a 170 but its came into the DZ with a crossfire 149 and can go a little smaller so I have all kinds of room to downsize. unless of coarse I ever get good enough to fly one of those bed sheets these people are jumping now but thats a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG ways away!!!!!! anyway this is my thinking and reasoning for ME and ME only. Do what ever feels good for you . Hope I helped a little jason
