To me mixing DZ's with CC's is like mixing drug with alchol. It may seem good at the time but it only leads to trouble in the end. Hey if you gotta do it then do it. I've metioned this before but I HAVE to go through deployment sequence and then right into grabbing rht, lft, punch rht, punch lft. I have to do this three times in the plane before exit to have a good jump. Not one jump has gone by without doing this!!! I bought and still where the same protec helmet I went through training with and I also bought and still wear the same jumpsuit I went through training with. The reason being is that the hellmut fit very nice and I got it cheap and My J/M said I have a very good faal rate with the suit I was wearing so I bought it . Plus the suit was only 6months old in really good shape and I got a good deal for it. jason

I kinda have to disagree on this statement. The way I see it I tell people all the time that ask me "what if your chute doesnt open" that hey I got a reserve..pull two handles and BAM good to go. Now I can tell people that till I'm blue in the face but until I actually have to, I really have no idea if I will be able to. Yes I've had the training and yes everytime I go up in the plane I HAVE to grab my handles tthree times to have a good jump (little supersticious), and yes I tell myself if this happens,,this is what I have to do and I CAN do it, but I havnet yet. Its like saying Yeah I can land a 747, but until the situation comes you reaaly dont know. Now I'm not saying I dont feel confedint in my abilitys to pull handles. Every once in a while upon deployment I'll grab them like I'm doing a Mock cut away just to know there location so I feel really good if something where to happen but when the shit happens that will then and only then REALLY test my capabilities. I hope to pass with flying colors. and by the way I dont use an RSL. But I think maybe it would be a good idea until I have actully expereinced a cutaway mal. just my thoughts on the subject. Ok I'm dreaming last night (yes another skydiving dream) and me and two others luanch a three way sit . The plan is to exit in a sit and then watch a B-52 fly right over head and drop out a big way above us . So anyway were falling and see the B52 flay over and the jumpers all come out. Looks cool as hell from our point of view, when suddenly I realize that I'm only about 500 ft form the ground with nothing over my head so all the sudden I go into a stand to speed up and then go instantly to my back to slow down. The idea here is that if I speed up then I will slow down substancaily enough that I will land very soft in which I did and it worked . I hit the ground at a soft 5-10 mph! then I got up and yelled "hey I dont even have to pack this again"!!! What in the F%CK could this dream mean? jason P.s the shitty thing is I can barley hold a sit for real let alone go from sit to stand to back

Kinda did the same thing a couple weeks ago where I started my line stows on the left instaed of the right of the bag. When I got done with the last stow I had one band left open on the same side as my last stow and this left about 32in between my risers and first stow. I asked another jumper what he thought and he said just make sure you fold it in neat so it doesnt loop over anything I thought OK!! Well because of so much unstowed line as soon as I deployed I saw an inflated canopy but a slider half way up the lines and line twists from hell!!!. Luckily I fly a PD170 so I was able to kick out but on a small HP canopy it probaly would have been chop time! The rush(packing) isnt worth the risks!! jason

2000ft for me, decision that is, and if I had to bail at 1500 ft its reserve all the way. I have a bungee kill line in my pilot so I'm not taking any chances that low!!! jason

Ahh dont worry viking I dont think you missed much. I heard all there was was a bunch of people running around in funny looking outfits and waving big peices of fabric over their heads and then at night just sitting around being lazy drinking beer.
