I've got that 20mm for all my air work so far, and the Canon 28-200 zoom for ground work, swoops. McGowan talked with me about using aperature priority and zoom at Perris, so I'll be experimenting with the longer lens, depth of field, and autofocus too. If you can only get one lens, get that 20mm. You can see my work with the 10D and those lenses by clicking on my tag line. JP

I'm so glad to hear it Ed. I love freeflying, but I love RELATIVE freeflying, with other people. It all a starts with being able to fly relative on your belly. Develop and nurture that aggressiveness. Not against other skydivers, but against your own skill level. I'm confident you will never write "f*cked up exit" again. You'll be writing stuff like "Present legs harder on exit" and "Left early" and "Left late" and "keep legs on ass" and "body follows eyes" for the rest of your jumping career. It's too much fun, and the people are just too cool, to give up on it. Way to go! JP

Hey Leeeese, Just listened to the voicemail from the restaurant. You guys rock! Thanks for all the text messages and calls. The airport trip, both to and from, was epic. I want Dragontail's monkeyhat! So drunk Saturday that NO jumps took place on Sunday?! Forfeit the hat!

Congrats! Is your profile up to date? If you're in rotation at 180 jumps, that's quite an accomplishment. "Professional Skydiver" isn't that cool!

Cool. Glad you got them! Come out to norcal sometime this summer and we'll tour our DZ's Byron, Davis, Lodi and Hollister. SoCal has big facilities and great people, but we have the best weather and air

:3:Many How wierd to be pissed off about the first number, but I was supposed to be jumping, not home in bed! First jumps with McGowan, Jack, Dragontail, Dbattman, and Islandcool. First broken bone skydiving. I still have an out-of-town boogie in my pocket, cause DZ.Perris'03 "never happened". Hmmmmm.

I'm not a blamer. The rule at Perris is simple. In retrospect I should have just made a 90 and landed off, crosswind. If I had continued to the grass landing area I might have had half the load follow me,and the other half follow the first jumper down, who establishes the pattern by rule. It's one thing for me to do something stupid, it's wholely another thing to lead others into something stupid. Now if I could only get Kaiser to schedule me with the ortho doctor! -

Well, as I understand it, it takes a miraculously short time when other people are shooting at you. Progession with JP the shooting instruction will take a very short time. .22 to .45 pistol. The .22 to .45-70 rifle. One day. I'll get video.
