I've got to travel to San Diego at the end of June. What's the scene at Skydive San Diego like? The Otter looks cool, but do they only fly the 182 during the week? Friendly? RW v. FF? I plan on jumping there anyway, but I'd like to know what to expect. Thank ewe.

Widgets are witchcraft-practicing midgets. Shit! They're manufacturing them! Cybernetic witchcraft-practicing midgets! Oh my!

Spouse out of town/4/0 Pair of Kings got winded out at Byron, so I drove up to Davis. Still pretty windy there, but not bad for a Byron jumper, plenty of love. Did 2 freefly jumps with Keith Wyatt (I just love a chance to jump with the Big Dogs) and 2 with my buddy Matt. Love the big door on the Caravan, but slow to altitude

I just got a Nikon N70 on Ebay for $200. A grey market 28mm runs $175. Several of the video gods at my DZ use it so I am just copying them

I ordered an articulated Wings harness and container with the stainless option and took delivery of it this past November. Right from the start the right riser cover would not stay closed. I consulted with the riggers on my DZ and took their advice to wait for the rig to break in, and then had my reserve repacked (at the cycle time) but the cover still wasn't right. I sent it back to Wings via Heather and got it back this past Thursday. The rig spent just under a week in Florida. It's perfect now. 10 jumps this weekend, no problems. Everything about the container is just a little more snug. Great customer service, love my container, thought you should know!

3:10:0 BUT WAIT! I lent Sebastian (who I did not know was "THE" Sebazz) my RW jumpsuit while he graced us with his presence at the Byron Love Fest. I shoulda got pictures! I'll never wash it again! Great combination of RW, FreeFly and helicopter this weekend. YeeeeeeeeeeHaw! JP

3:6:0 Probably should've bought beer cause I borrowed a freinds rig while my Wings is being fixed. Holy cow! how I love my Wings and my Spectre! But Big Ben's unarticulate Talon and his 10-year-old PD190 just beat the cr*p out of me. I had time to jump Sunday, but just too sore. You grizzled veterans who can jump any rig, any harness, any size, any time just continue to amaze me.

If you video multiple disciplines, 4-way, tandem, fun jumps, sit-fliers, where is the aimpoint of your ringsight? When you are standing straight and looking ahead straight and level, is the aim point of your ringsight dead-ahead, or do you have it angled up a little (or a lot). I'm getting ready to drill my helmet, and when I lay down on my belly it seems like I'm really cranking my neck back to look straight across the floor. I'm thinking my sight point should be a little above my normal line-of-sight. I'm not getting out to my DZ until Saturday, so could some of you please give me some feedback? Thanks. JP

A couple of months ago a jumper just off of student status, jumping rental gear, took a reserve ride because she wasn't wearing gloves. In Northern California it can be mild on the ground and below freezing at altitude. She did a four way with some friends and then couldn't feel anything with her hands when she reached for the hackey. Smart, though, after a bad decision (jumping w/o gloves), she made two passes for the BOC and then went to silver. I jump with regular Neumann's with polypro liners by Mountain Hardwear when it's cold. Buying the gloves is cheaper than paying for a repack, or worse.

I got a custom Wings as my first rig and I love it. The look is great and the fit is the best I found. My right riser cover kept opening up in flight, but Heather at Wings took great care of me, and they have my rig right now and are fixing it. I also got the pud handle on my pull-out and I like it very much. No exposed bridle at all, and it has a very positive feel in the hand before I toss that pull out "like a pit-viper on crack"

Ive got just over 150 jumps on my Spectre 170 (1.3 wingloading) and I switched to the Aerodyne Research Super Bandz for my last 20 jumps. They're like regular small rubber bands but made of latex. I'm happy with them. Openings are softer/smoother. They're real hard to break.

OK. I've got most of the parts. Hawkeye LT, Cameye II, ringsight and mount, PC 110 and D-box. Should I mount the SLR to set the sighting of the video? A camera jumper at my DZ has his SLR top-mounted, but has washers angling the SLR up. He says this makes it easier to film tandems (makes sense to me) but flush mounted SLR quick-release base looks safer. I will take my time jumping each component individually before jumping video-stills-camera suit. But should I mount the SLR first and then line the video up to it? Thanks again. JP

Marcus Antebi of Pier responded to an e-mail. He tells me that the FM70 will fit, but the 91 is out of the question without cutting. Check Pier out. They've been very helpful, and dependable to do business with.

I've got a PC 110 and a D-box. How big a battery can I get on the 110 and have my D-box close without cutting on it? THANK YOU!
